Great product. Great service. Recommended.
Over the last decade or more, I've had a clutch of various BBQ thermometers, including several that had some sort of remote unit. None worked very well or lasted very long. None provided any range that allowed me to cook in the kitchen or be far enough away to know with confidence that my food or my smoker/BBQ wasn't at the right temperature. I recently bought an Inkbird ITC-308 Digital Temperature Controller 2-Stage Outlet Thermostat to use as part of a bread proofer oven hack. I was so impressed with that unit, that I found other uses for it (cold smoking, hot smoking, BBQ temperature control (via airflow control and fan). I especially liked the ability to use the app, and program independent actions for each of the outlets (turn on/off 2 powered devices based on the information I specify). When my most recent BBQ temperature monitor finally quit working, I came to Amazon and searched for "Inkbird BBQ Thermometer," and I was pleased to discover Inkbird had several models to pick from. I chose this one, based on its features (mainly the WiFi and the 4 independent probes), its high customer ratings/comments and my previous experience with their products. I also bought an extra "oven probe" and a matching case for it. I received everything, charged it up and have had numerous successful BBQ, smoker and oven cooks, relying on it to monitor oven/BBQ/smoker temperatures and multiple items being cooked (including mixed meats). I like the app very much and use both its pre-programmed functions (both for oven/BBQ cooking temperatures and meat doneness temperatures) and its custom settings and alarms. I especially like how the app graphs temperatures; it's helped me accurately predict when some of those 10 or 12 hour roasts are going to hit the target temperature. It is kinda cool to be at the market miles away and be able to check on my BBQ cook -- more than once, I've called one of my kids and said, "Hey, please toss another piece of oak in the BBQ's firebox for me, kiddo!" I have recommended this unit to several friends, and at least 2 have bought them since -- we "gush" over this thing when we talk, and we hope once this COVID crude goes away to drink beers at our next BBQ party while raving about our Inkbird to our other friends. -- Mine suddenly developed a problem with 2 of the 4 probe ports. In short, #1 and #2 quit working during a long cook where I transitioned from the BBQ/smoker to finish up in the oven. The issue was brought to my attention by the app, which notified me the oven was out of the temperature range. I was surprised to discover no temperature readings for the 2 probes. I switched the probes to #3 and #4, and I immediately got results. I finished the cook, enjoyed a great meal, and later that night looked at the unit again. The problem persisted. I tried to power cycle it and a few other things, but the problem kept occurring. Bummer. I reached out to Inkbird for their recommendations, hoping there was some reset option or secret app function I might use to reboot or otherwise get things working. They got back to me quickly (despite it being the Christmas weekend) and asked me to answer a few questions and send some pics, which I did. One of their staff and I exchanged a half dozen emails within the same hour. In the end, the customer service representative said they'd send me a replacement unit. I can't explain why my unit developed a problem. These things seem very well built and the unit is rugged. I didn't knock it around or drop it. I'm super-pleased with Inkbird's response. I feel their customer service is first-rate, like their products. I will continue to recommend this and other Inkbird products to my friends, knowing they stand behind their products with a level of customer service that matches the quality of their products. I'm adding an Inkbird Waterproof Instant Read Thermometer IHT-1P and case to my cart. I'm a fanboy of Inkbird now. I'm going to support them in the only two ways I know how: 1) recommending/reviewing and 2) buying their products. I hope you'll do the same.

AMAZING BBQ/SMOKING/COOKING DEVICE!!!
I purchased this unit a few years ago and dont normally leave reviews after that many years, in fact i dont leave many reviews due to time constraints. But I felt that i needed to leave one for this device. I am an enthusiast cooker both inside the house (via roasts and large meat cuts) but more importantly for me is my hobby (BBQ, Smoking etc) in warmer weather. This INKBIRD (IBBQ-4T) WiFi unit is AMAZING. It was the first device that allowed me to not be concerned about forgetting to check my meat-project while smoking all night (Briskets and Pork Shoulders) and gave me the confidence to actually sleep thru the night while smoking meats. Literally a lifesaver! The overall quality of this unit is also amazing, built to last years, and have never had an issue with performance related issues. Simply charge the device and youre ready. Its VERY easy to use out of the box, and its intuitive in nature which is important to me bc I dont want to take a college course to get started. Simply use the amount of probes needed to monitor your project, set the desired temperatures for each of the four probes...and that is IT! I also love using the magnetic adapter when cooking inside by simply attaching it to the metal on the front face of my stove and I am able to quickly monitor the temperature without opening the oven at all and losing precious heat that takes a lot of time to re-establish internally. I have used earlier models from ThermaPro and MEATR and i must say that INKBIRD has become my TRUSTED go to for all cooking needs that require my ultimate attention. Highly recommend this device to anyone that invests a lot of hard earned money these days to purchase their meats to feed their family and friends. Even if i were to be a professional, i would use this unit to safeguard my cooking. Bon Apetit!!! You wont be disappointed

An exercise in frustration.
Do not buy this crap thermometer. The InkBird requires you to use their app for set up and for monitoring temps while in use, which isn't a surprise, and you connect to the thermometer through the app. It is extremely difficult to get the app, thermometer, and your home network all connected. I struggled for hours (not an exaggeration) to try to get it set up, to no avail. It took the help of an IT professional friend and several additional hours to connect to the Inkbird and its app for the first time. Turns out it requires explicitly making an administrator account, but the software will not default to administrator even if it's the first account you are making. If you didn't make it an admin account, you'll have to set up a second account -- with a different email-- as an administrator account. It appears that InkBird didn't QA on Android very well, since the Android had more problems than the iPhone did connecting to the app, probably due to differences in the phone's security protocol. A word of warning, the thermometer can only connect to a 2.4 GHz band network. If both bands of your dual band router have the same SSID (very common) you will need to rename one of them or temporarily shut off the 5GHz band so that your phone does not connect to the 5 GHz network. If this happens when setting it up, the app will not be able to find the thermometer. Your phone must be on the same 2.4 GHz network as the thermometer or setup won't work. Once your connection is set up, it doesn't matter what network you are connected to. There supposedly is a way to set up your connection to the thermometer where it broadcasts a 2.4 GHz network, but I have not been able to get it to work. The thermometer always times out and stops broadcasting before the app can find it. Woe be to you if your app forgets the probe. You will need to go through the same painful process again. It will not get easier. Once connected you will discover that the probes may read slightly differently from each other. This will get worse with time. The thermometer does have the capability to let you calibrate the probes which may solve this. I haven't tried. One probe failed after less than four months of use. Last I heard InkBird does not sell replacement probes.

The unit in general is great, very visual and easy to use. the app is very useful, it is easy to setup and work with. Connector NOTE: The connectors are very sensitive, they fall out of the sockets at the least movement.

Nice to be able to monitor my grill and meat temps remotely, from anywhere. Easy to use, seems pretty accurate. Silicone covers on the probes are a nice touch so you can handle them hot. My only suggestion for improvement would be to put in a bigger battery and make it so it doesn't drain so much when not in use. If you leave it fully charged but don't use it for a week or 2, you'll need to charge it up again before use. Good product though. Happy with my purchase.

Comes with four probs, syncs to the phone easy so you can monitor the meat and BBQ temp. Previously used the mini Weber. Both work well, but the Inkbird you get more probs.
