Great product. Great service. Recommended.
Over the last decade or more, I've had a clutch of various BBQ thermometers, including several that had some sort of remote unit. None worked very well or lasted very long. None provided any range that allowed me to cook in the kitchen or be far enough away to know with confidence that my food or my smoker/BBQ wasn't at the right temperature. I recently bought an Inkbird ITC-308 Digital Temperature Controller 2-Stage Outlet Thermostat to use as part of a bread proofer oven hack. I was so impressed with that unit, that I found other uses for it (cold smoking, hot smoking, BBQ temperature control (via airflow control and fan). I especially liked the ability to use the app, and program independent actions for each of the outlets (turn on/off 2 powered devices based on the information I specify). When my most recent BBQ temperature monitor finally quit working, I came to Amazon and searched for "Inkbird BBQ Thermometer," and I was pleased to discover Inkbird had several models to pick from. I chose this one, based on its features (mainly the WiFi and the 4 independent probes), its high customer ratings/comments and my previous experience with their products. I also bought an extra "oven probe" and a matching case for it. I received everything, charged it up and have had numerous successful BBQ, smoker and oven cooks, relying on it to monitor oven/BBQ/smoker temperatures and multiple items being cooked (including mixed meats). I like the app very much and use both its pre-programmed functions (both for oven/BBQ cooking temperatures and meat doneness temperatures) and its custom settings and alarms. I especially like how the app graphs temperatures; it's helped me accurately predict when some of those 10 or 12 hour roasts are going to hit the target temperature. It is kinda cool to be at the market miles away and be able to check on my BBQ cook -- more than once, I've called one of my kids and said, "Hey, please toss another piece of oak in the BBQ's firebox for me, kiddo!" I have recommended this unit to several friends, and at least 2 have bought them since -- we "gush" over this thing when we talk, and we hope once this COVID crude goes away to drink beers at our next BBQ party while raving about our Inkbird to our other friends. -- Mine suddenly developed a problem with 2 of the 4 probe ports. In short, #1 and #2 quit working during a long cook where I transitioned from the BBQ/smoker to finish up in the oven. The issue was brought to my attention by the app, which notified me the oven was out of the temperature range. I was surprised to discover no temperature readings for the 2 probes. I switched the probes to #3 and #4, and I immediately got results. I finished the cook, enjoyed a great meal, and later that night looked at the unit again. The problem persisted. I tried to power cycle it and a few other things, but the problem kept occurring. Bummer. I reached out to Inkbird for their recommendations, hoping there was some reset option or secret app function I might use to reboot or otherwise get things working. They got back to me quickly (despite it being the Christmas weekend) and asked me to answer a few questions and send some pics, which I did. One of their staff and I exchanged a half dozen emails within the same hour. In the end, the customer service representative said they'd send me a replacement unit. I can't explain why my unit developed a problem. These things seem very well built and the unit is rugged. I didn't knock it around or drop it. I'm super-pleased with Inkbird's response. I feel their customer service is first-rate, like their products. I will continue to recommend this and other Inkbird products to my friends, knowing they stand behind their products with a level of customer service that matches the quality of their products. I'm adding an Inkbird Waterproof Instant Read Thermometer IHT-1P and case to my cart. I'm a fanboy of Inkbird now. I'm going to support them in the only two ways I know how: 1) recommending/reviewing and 2) buying their products. I hope you'll do the same.

Works great for remote monitoring of your grilling
FURTHER UPDATED 10/2/24 So I don’t know if they did an app update or what, but I found that if you leave the app active on your phone it will actually sound an alarm when it hits temp, and gives you an opportunity to silence all alarms - which is nice when the outside unit is LOUDLY beeping away. I restored my rating to 5 stars and am very happy with this unit now. UPDATE 7/27/23 I wrote my initial review after testing the functionality but not actually grilling meat. Did a pork butt last weekend and all worked well EXCEPT the most important thing: an alarm. This app only sends a push notification when the target temp is hit - one ding at best. Thankfully I was watching closely and saw them. When I got to the grill the base unit was beeping like crazy, letting my neighbors know the meat was done! Wanted to send it back but I waited too long. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have another Bluetooth unit very similar to this that I like a lot, but the remote unit is only good for the Bluetooth range. I wanted something that I could monitor over Wi-Fi so I could use it remotely on my phone from anywhere. This until fits the bill and works good. I like having the 4 probes which allows multiple settings for things like different cuts of meat, or vegetables, or even monitoring the temperature of the grill with the included grill clip. The different colored probe grips also helps to easily keep track of which probe is which. Since this unit’s settings are similar to the one I currently use, it was easy to set up the temp settings and alarms after getting it synced to the phone. After downloading the app to my phone there was a paring process that did not go well for me. At first I thought it was because we have a dual band Wi-Fi system - the Eero mesh, which uses both 5mhz and 2.44mhz bands. This unit works ONLY on the 2.44mhz bandwidth. After failing to pair twice, I found a setting on the Eero that pauses the 5mhz system for a few minutes so you can overcome just this problem. After doing that I was able to get the unit paired to my Wi-Fi and the app started working on my phone. From there, everything is done on the app except to turn on and off the temp probe unit that sits near the grill. The app is fairly straight forward and doesn’t have a lot of features so it’s easy to use. One feature that my other unit doesn’t have is the temperature history that shows the progress of the temperature over the time of the cook. This could be useful for gauging how long a similar cook will take in the future. It is not dynamic, however, so you have to go in and out of the history page for it to update the history - so you can’t watch it progress in real time if you sit on the history page. Overall I’m very pleased with this unit and think it’s reasonably priced for the functions it provides. It meets my needs and I recommend it for simple remote temperature monitoring.

The unit in general is great, very visual and easy to use. the app is very useful, it is easy to setup and work with. Connector NOTE: The connectors are very sensitive, they fall out of the sockets at the least movement.

Nice to be able to monitor my grill and meat temps remotely, from anywhere. Easy to use, seems pretty accurate. Silicone covers on the probes are a nice touch so you can handle them hot. My only suggestion for improvement would be to put in a bigger battery and make it so it doesn't drain so much when not in use. If you leave it fully charged but don't use it for a week or 2, you'll need to charge it up again before use. Good product though. Happy with my purchase.

Comes with four probs, syncs to the phone easy so you can monitor the meat and BBQ temp. Previously used the mini Weber. Both work well, but the Inkbird you get more probs.
