Typical Otterbox quality
I recently picked up a new HTC One V from Virgin Mobile (great little phone, read my review of it) and needed something to clothe it in. It took a drop on the second day and did fine, and while it seems a well constructed phone I don't feel comfortable with any phone not wearing protection. I have had Otterboxes on previous phones and knowing their quality, that is the first thing I searched for. As this phone is brand new in the US, I was surprised (but happy) to see that Otterbox had already made one for it.I received the case 3 days after ordering with expedited shipping. I am a Prime member but at the time of ordering it was not available. Still, not bad, and I'd rather pay the few extra bucks to get it here pronto than break my phone while the case that could have saved it is sitting in a sort facility. The case is everything you expect an Otterbox to be. It fits very snug and will certainly offer excellent protection. All buttons have raised surfaces and are easy to find even in the dark, and both the charging and headphone ports have small silicone doors for protection from the elements. The edges are raised sufficiently to protect the screen when placing it on objects face-down, but not so much that they add lots of bulk. They don't affect side swiping at all.As I said I have already dropped the phone, but with this case on dropping it seems far less likely. There is silicone that gives good purchase in the right places on this case, so you can get a good grip without much pressure. At first I thought the top part of the silicone was cut improperly, but I soon realized that the somewhat odd looking cut allows the notification LED to be visible from both the front and top views, and that the phone speaker is not obstructed at all, so it made perfect sense (and still looks good). Has a nice wide unobtrusive cutout for the camera and flash. The case is very light and adds almost no weight to the phone. This phone is very svelte to begin with, and it still is not excessively bulky even with the Otterbox. The "chin" is somewhat less pronounced with the case on than without, though it is still there.I like Skinomi screen protectors because you really can't even tell they are there, but the included screen protector is perfectly functional. It is cut at the top to allow full use of sensors and speakers. It does not affect screen responsiveness at all. I'll probably get a Skinomi anyway, they're cheap and would make a great complement to this case.I didn't expect to be let down by the latest Otterbox in the arsenal, and I wasn't. Without a doubt, best case available at this time for this phone, and it's unlikely that anyone will make a better one for it in the future.ETA 12/12/12 - Months later and this is still going strong. I have dropped the phone many, many times and no problems; for protection Otterbox can't be beat. Yesterday in a brief fit of complete and utter clumsiness the phone took a tumbling nosedive on hard tile floor while I was walking at a fast pace. It hit hard. I cringed when it hit, even after the many drops I'd had. Picked it up, not a scratch and still functioning perfectly, sent a mental "thank you" to Otterbox, kept going with no worries. After months of hard use the case shows no degradation of the silicone, and the finish of the hard plastic is still good. Still 5 stars.

Solid Otterbox protection, minor fit issues
I love Otterbox cases for one reason - they protect better than any other products out there. When I purchased my HTC One V Prepaid Android Phone (Virgin Mobile) I only wanted an Otterbox case because I trust Otterbox products. The case is the Otterbox standard: inner silicon sleeve with hard plastic outer case for added protection. This one is no different. It ships with 1 screen protector too, which is always needed. I had already put another brand of screen protection on the phone prior to installing the case, and found that while installing it, the screen protector edge kept catching on the Otterbox case. I blame the ill-fitting off market screen protector for that one, and hope the Otterbox screen protector won't do it. (Will update when I install that on the phone at a later date.)As for the case itself, the reason I give it 4 and not 5 stars is that the cover over the on/off button is so big it seems to take way too much pressure to turn the phone on and off. Maybe in time, that will ease with use. Or maybe I'll cut that piece off the silicon case so I don't have to feel like I'm breaking the phone when I depress the button! The case wasn't easy to put on, but look it up on YouTube and you'll get a few videos showing you the easiest way to do it. Bottom line is that I found it easiest to feed the charging port cover through the hard plastic case and then work from the bottom of the phone to the top. Turn your phone off prior to doing this to save yourself from all kinds of mayhem occurring on your phone while you do it.I like that the Otterbox Commuter case for the HTC One V fits the phone perfectly, with all the ports easily accessible. The phone's camera lens and flash are not obscured, nor is the microphone. It protects your investment very well.FYI...I removed the after market screen protector and put on the Otterbox one that shipped with the case. The Otterbox screen protector that shipped with the case has cut-outs at the top which apparently is done on purpose to avoid obscuring a sensor to the left of the HTC logo on the front of the phone. (See comments below.)The screen protector fit the edges of the screen well, and with the outer case on, looks and feels right.UPDATE: 12/31/12I'm still using my Otterbox Commuter case and finding it to be good protection for the HTC One V phone. It shows no real wear, looking pretty much the same as it did the day I put it on the phone. It's not pretty, but it's functional and offers great protection. The issue with needing to use a lot of pressure to depress the on/off button through the case still exists, but I'm getting used to it. It's still the only real reason I have for just liking this case (4 out of 5 stars) versus loving it.

Another Great OtterBox
Otterbox appears to have changed the material used for the soft shock absorbing layer, but its for the better! It lasts longer, absorbs shock just as well if not better, and doesn't get hung up on the inside of my pocket. This Otterbox fits like a glove and protects my HTC from ridiculous phone smashers like myself.Yes, the power button is pretty dang stiff as others have mentioned.. but it softens slightly over time with use. I prefer it this way because i've yet to accidentally unlock my phone in my pocket or backpack. The volume control feels nice under the rubber and is not quite as stiff as the power button. The raised lip protects the screen when it falls face down. The plastic in combination with the rubbery material handle the shock of being dropped on the phone's corners. This case can be a little tough to get on, but with a little finesse it isn't THAT bad... and it gives a nice secure feeling once its in place. The only thing I didn't like was the screen protector that came with it. I just went ahead and used my own instead..

Decent Product
Although This Case Has A Very Nice Look And Feel To It,It Didn't Do It's Job Protecting My Phone! I Dropped It A Few Days Ago And The Right Side Of My Phone Poped Out As Well As The Plastic Surrounding The Camara So I'm Not Too Happy With It

best case for HTC One V!
The case feels really solid and is comfortable to hold. It will add some weight to the phones but that's ok! Now I can throw my phone at a wall,or a cat, and not worry about it breaking. Best case by far for this phone.

Not a problem
I bought the Otterbox for my sons phone after yet another broken screen. It fitted perfectly and is of the sturdy design you can expect of Otterbox. So far no more broken screens. One note of caution there are 3 versions of HTC One so make sure you get the correct case.

Five Stars
Excellent !
