Good Homeowner Grade Tool
We recently moved into a new home with a finished basement. The exterior walls are all painted concrete and a challenge to hang anything on. I bought a masonry bit for my cordless drill so I could drill holes for concrete anchors - it was a failure. The poor cordless drill could only penetrate about a half inch of the outer surface before it bogged down. It was obvious that this combination was not up to the challenge of mounting a 55” TV with large lag bolts on a tilting and extendable mount. After researching a wide variety of hammer drills I settled on the Skil 7.5 Amp corded unit for the following reasons: 1) Powerful motor with AC cord - not as convenient as cordless but no worries with charging batteries with easy access to outlets in the basement where most intended use will take place 2) Large selection of bits and drivers will limit need to run out to hardware store for special sizes 3) Additional handle for good grip while drilling concrete 4) Depth gauge/rod to insure proper hole depth 5) Nice case for all items to keep organized My first use of the drill (in hammer mode) allayed any concerns I had. A large masonry drill went through the concrete to the proper depth with ease. I had the lead concrete anchors installed in no-time for the TV mount and high confidence that it is secure. The fit, finish and functionality of this drill is great for the average homeowner. I expect that light duty use and occasionally more strenuous work will not be a problem. It is a great value in this category. I would not expect it to stand up to heavy duty or commercial type of use. If you are planning to use this for around-the-house jobs it is a nice complement to typical homeowner power tools.

Excellent value for a home tool.
I'll admit that I did not use the included bits for any of the home projects I used the drill for. I only used my own premium masonry bits. I also didn't use it as a regular drill (by switching out of hammer drill mode), so I can't speak to its performance as a regular drill. I can say that when paired with quality masonry bits, it has more than enough power to quickly and cleanly drill 4"+ of aggregate concrete, bricks, cinderblock, and stones. I did several home projects that needed all that drilled and it managed it like the material wasn't even there. The blow mold case is a very high quality plastic that can survive falling, drops, and kicks without issue. Everything stays put inside, and it has a sealed steel bar for a hinge so it won't fall apart after a few openings and closings. The included bits seem ok, and it's nice to have a selection of bits for wood/plastic, metal, and masonry tasks. I just didn't try them. The only real complaint I have is the handle. Most other removable handles I've used on other drills go on and off MUCH easier. This one is a bit to tight and you do tend to struggle a bit more than is needed. Something I hope that Skill address in a revised model.

Great drill
Great drill. I needed to drill into concrete and none of the drills I had or borrowed worked. This drill knocked it out in seconds on the first try. The drill bits were a big help too making sure I had the right tips for the right job. It’s easy to use, easy to adjust to the job, and strong. I’ve only used it a few times but it has been very durable, lightweight, and fast. Great drill for the job.

Awesome kit, but some minor flaws
Works almost as well as my SDS on concrete and all the attachments work well and are quality made. 2 minor issues; 1. No variable speed setting, just a sensitive trigger. For things like mixing mortar, etc it makes it very difficult to control 2. Bits are difficult to get in or out of the molded spots. Especially sharp drill bits. Very good for the price though

Great power for little money
I needed a hammer drill to be able to anchor some wood into concrete. I previously had a cordless DeWalt hammer drill, and many years ago used it to anchor a pergola to my patio. The process of drilling the holes was very difficult, and I honestly was not looking forward to it again! Unfortunately that drill had since died, so I needed a new one. Not wanting to spend a ton of money, I decided to give this corded drill a shot, and WOW did it deliver! It drilled holes into the concrete like it was butter. It also came with a great accessory pack with multiple drill & driver bits. Pros: - Worked great - made drilling into the concreate very easy. - Added accessory kit was a great value. - Corded, so no need to worry about losing battery power. Cons: - Included masonry bit (at least the 5/32 size) was not great quality - I would up purchasing a different bit that worked better Overall, I highly recommend this hammer drill.

Just buy it you'll love it
Works great and light enough. What can I say just buy it and try it. Idk about the bits but I'm sure they are just fine for home owners. Drilled into concrete slab like a hot knife through butter. Zero complaints

Pretty decent power and great price!
I attached a video to this to help others get an idea of its power and ease of use. Skip to 33 seconds if you just want to see the drill working. I needed to get a new drill so i could salt the roots of a tree i had to take down. The drill i had was not cutting it. It was way too weak! The 7.5 amps was more than enough power to get me the depth that i needed and the drill bits that they included in this set were the perfect size! I’m not a super handy guy so this was nice for me! Really easy to use and has a nice stability handle. I will say all the parts make for a tight fit in the case and some of the drill bits are a bit tough to dislodge. I can’t complain too much though! The price is incredible for the quality of the drill that you’re getting. Overall, I highly recommend this product!
