Solve numerous problems with simplicity
I have many issues with hand mobility and chopping fresh herbs or almost anything with a knife is almost impossible. This bowl solved so many issues for me. I made the best fresh herb egg salad in no time and no pain in one bowl. You have total control of how chopped everything gets by when you add it. I love this. I will use it for so many different things. Salads are a great start. The cutter is simple to use and allows you a certain flexibility in grip strength and angle for mobility issues or pain if you have these issues..It cleans up so easy and is an ample size for larger salads. I will keep this very handy..

Another Great Oxo Product - Works Great
A short while ago I tried a "chopped salad" in a restaurant and loved it, no overly large pieces of lettuce you have to stuff in your mouth [not so lady like] or cut with a knife! Thus the reason for my purchase. I debated over several "salad chopper" styles and decided to keep things simple and chose the Good Grips based solely on previous experiences with Oxo products. First, the bowl is really big....in fact its huge! Which is a plus as it can double as a mixing bowl [would be perfect for letting bread dough rise!] It is made of VERY STURDY plastic and is dishwasher safe. The cutters/chopper's blades are slightly larger than a pizza cutter blade and are also very sturdy. The blades roll smoothly and the angled design of the handle fits perfectly with the inside slope of the bowl's sides. All you do is dump all salad ingredients into the bowl and start rolling the cutting blades down the sides of the bowl. The salad can be chopped from coarse to fine depending on how long you continue rolling the blades. Yesterday, I made cabbage slaw with it and I think the uses are only limited to the imagination! You can make a salad in half the time it takes using standard methods. All in all I believe this is the best designed salad chopper, its easy to use and clean. I've never been disappointed in Oxo Good Grips products and this one is no exception.

Great Chopper!
So simple, so easy to clean. This non-electric (non-gimmicky) salad chopper does exactly what it claims. You can chop an individual salad or enough for a family and guests. The end result depends on how long the user chops. There is no learning curve....you start chopping, you watch the salad, you flip it over a little with the side of the blade, you chop again and stop when you like what you see. You can chop lettuce only or throw anything and everything in the bowl and chop it at once. We now eat chopped salads at every dinner and it's never failed me. I've thrown everything at it...onions, nuts, cherry tomatoes, hard cooked eggs, cheese, dried cranberries, celery, carrots, etc. I have learned to start with the hard stuff (celery, carrots, nuts) and throw in the soft stuff at the end (like the eggs or cheese). I never pre-chop entire salads for the next day, but I wouldn't do that with any chopper. There's no storage issue because the big, sturdy bowl stores with your other bowls and you can use it for anything (including trick-or-treat handouts). We've used this chopper many, many time and the blades thus far show no sign of dulling. I'm buying two for Christmas gifts.

Great Idea
After eating chopped salads in restaurants, my husband and I decided to search for a bowl and chopper. Because the available set was manufactured by OXO, we felt like it would be a quality product. It is. The bowl is strong enough so that the blades do not cut into it. The blades are strong enough to chop the salad into a size we like. We do not use it for tomatoes or carrots, or other veggies - we've found it works well with just the lettuce, and that's fine with us. The chopper does have sharp blades, but we don't put an entire head of lettuce in the bowl - it goes more quickly with slices off the head. We'd have to do that anyhow. This product does not say it will make creating a salad any faster, it just says it will chop well, and it does. We love it. Another reviewer suggested washing off the blades of the chopper so the lettuce won't dry on there. Great idea.

I like it!
I bought the Oxo salad chopper to use with about 20 - 30 oz. of spinach that goes into a casserole I make about every 10 days. It has been much faster and easier than my previous methods, and I get one bowl full of spinach instead of figuring out how to deal with more containers. I found that if I nuke the spinach in the microwave for a bit, the spinach wilts slightly so it doesn't get stuck between the blades, and it all fits in the bowl at one time (chop the first bag while nuking the second, repeat as needed). I just tap the cutter handle against the edge of the bowl to clear the spinach as needed (DO hold the cutter as Oxo says). This product does well at cutting the stems off of the leaves, holds a lot of spinach. I am evil and wash the product in the dishwasher. After 2 and a half years, the cutter gets a bit dull, so I bought another one rather than treating it better or trying to figure out how to sharpen the thing. I do note that in that period, Amazon's price increased by a couple of dollars - what hasn't?

SO easy and fast
Mine came today and I used it tonight. I eat *a lot* of salad, so I buy these huge platters that serve 20 people. Using a knife and a fork it would take me close to 45 minutes to chop it up to put it in air-tight containers that don't take up an entire shelf in the 'fridge. Took 15 and cut up a lot better than the good ol' knife and fork. That it's made like a pizza cutter means it's not pushing into my hand and wrist that was operated on last year - good ergonomics. LOVE this thing!

The new slap chip is a wonder for salad making. Price is a little on the high side, but if your aim is to eat healthy but hate chopping - this does work. Not amazing for tougher veggies like carrots, but it works well and makes salads easy, quick and clean. Just look out for storage space on the bowl. It’s big.

This is a great salad chopper. My jaw is very happy with no longer having to chew through the giant pieces of kale.
