Strong Suction and Reliable Sealing
I’m really happy with the Anova Culinary Vacuum Sealer. It has strong suction that pulls the air out quickly and effectively, and it seals the bags nicely without needing a second pass. The slim, compact design makes it easy to store, and the included pre-cut BPA-free bags are convenient for getting started right away. I also like that it works well for both wet and dry foods, which makes it useful for meal prep, sous vide cooking, and long-term freezer storage. Overall, it’s simple to use, reliable, and does exactly what I needed it to do.

Buy one
Works well very basic. I liked this one so much I bought a second one for my sister. If I changed anything I would request a female port to access ball jar lid attachment. As it is I have to use the male port. This replaces a 30+ year old name brand, wore it out cracked plastic. A second fancy Costco do it all self contained $300. What a hunk of junk. Never worked properly Apperantly just like it was designed to do.

Great while it lasted!
I purchased this one due to compact size, ease of use, and good ratings. It was great while it lasted! It worked very well for 3.5 years. After that the vacuum and seal functions began to fail. I did purchase the extended warranty, which refunded a portion of the price to put toward a new one.

Small and light. Recommend.
Still going strong. I bought this a few years ago and it runs fine. Sometimes when I run the seal function for a few times, I have to wait a few seconds to run it again. Very small and light vacuum sealer. Recommend.

Disappointed. READ UPDATE
I bought this about a year ago, then never got around to using it. Just took it out of the box for the first time and it’s really greasy, like it has been used. It did not come with instructions. It also does not work. It will not turn on at all. So basically a waste of money and nothing I can do about it. Obviously, it was a return.Update: changed to 5 stars. I contacted the company directly and they had me return it directly to them. Then sent me a brand new one. They got back to me very quickly and the new one works perfectly!

It's Disposable at Best!
We purchased ours in June 2020 and it started having issues about 12 months later and then 18 months it barely worked at all. We contacted customer service because we thought hat for $79 (then) it should last more than 18 months. Thesuction power gave out almost completely and it stopped sealing as well. We did all the trouble shooting, no problems there. Then we emailed customer service as some mentioned here and they came back with a laundry list of tasks we would need to complete before being considered for some type of replacement? refund? nothing at al after making a video??? I copy and pasted it here so that you know what you are in for if your vacuum sealer gives out: We are terribly sorry to hear that you have faced this issue. We will like you to go through the following steps to see if this resolves the issue:The machine will not turn to seal automatically if the vacuum pressureinside the bag is not able to reach to the predetermined vacuumpressure. Check sealing strip and foam gasket beneath the lid for debris, wipe clean and try again. Make sure no breaking or distortion of the foam seal gaskets on both the cover and on the base around the vacuum chamber. Take it out fromthe groove, wash and dry it thoroughly; or replace with a new foamgasket (get it from where you brought it or your nearest service center).Vacuum bag may have a leak. Reseal or use another bag.Ensure top cover is pushed down and locked on both ends of themachine at the beginning of the operation before starting thevacuuming process. Leaks caused by wrinkles, debris crumbs, grease or liquids from the bag.Reopen bag, wipe the top inside of the bag and smooth it out along thesealing strip before resealing. Please kindly try the following steps and If the issue still persists, please reply back to this email with proof of purchase from either Anova or a 3rd party, a video showing the issue you have described, and the unit serial number. We will do our best to come up with a resolution. Do have a great day.

Very easy to use...
I purchased an Anova Sous VIde about a year ago and I love it. You haven't lived until you try sous vide chicken breasts....yum. Everything else comes out perfect too....filet mignon is a dream. But....since then I was using ziplock bags that I purchased in the grocery story. Yes, I saw that even the manufacturer did not recommend them for sous vide and I read about all the leaching of chemicals into the food, but heck, they were inexpensive and handy. As I continued my journey into sous vide world however, I started to want to cook veggies too....and you absolutely cannot do those in a store bought bag. Also about two months ago, one of my bags broke in the water.....so I finally gave in and started researching vacuum sealers and there are a ton of them out there. After two weeks of reading reviews I settled on two brands (neither was the Food Saver) and finally picked the Anova. Part of this was brand loyalty and part was that the Anova sealer was just made for sealing. No wine bottle tube, no six buttons on top....just a simple vacuum sealer and that is what I wanted. It also had the advantage of size, it fit in the drawer I had for it. It is about the size of a wax paper box. I am now on week two and I love it. We are a small household and I am now sealing all the extra chicken etc. that comes in the packages. If you read Serious Eats you know that you can just plunk a couple of frozen vacuum sealed chicken breasts (or any meat) into the sous vide and just give it an extra 20 minutes on the timer to cook....convenience at its best. If I change my mind for any reason, I will update this post, but as of right now.....this is a great machine for the price and I highly recommend it.

Wrong Voltage
It is advertised to be 220 Volts. But it is 120 Volts.

Defective product
Vacuum function does not work. Sealing is fine but 100% air will remain in bag.

Food saver necessity
This Anova vacuum sealer is exactly what I needed for my small kitchen. It’s lightweight, easy to use, and seals bags tight every time. I really like the slim design — it fits perfectly in a drawer when not in use.It doesn’t have a built-in bag cutter, but that’s not a dealbreaker for me. For the price and size, it’s a solid buy. Highly recommend for anyone who meal preps or uses sous vide at home.

Solid basic vac packer!
Full disclosure here... I've used chamber vac sealers for the last 20 years. Dip type, chamber etc. I also own a vacmaster commercial chamber sealer at home.Now... I needed one for the cottage (the vacmaster is ~80lbs... not good for travelling). For sealing meats etc when deals are good. also for sousvide and other stuff. So....This unit does the job fantastically. Great suction, solid seals and good duty cycle (i.e. 5-20 seals at a go). No issues so far and I'm about 100 seals in. Considering Anova and the other products I have from them (support etc)... I highly recommend. Does it have a holder for bags? no. Does it have an aux port? yes! Does it have a cutter? No. The seal process relies on you clipping down both sides with physical clips... GOOD choice Anova. Does it require proprietary (i.e. only from Anova) bags? No.In summary.... worth every penny.
