Major design flaw
I have purchased 3 pair of these glasses and all of them have broken soon after the warranty expires. The temple breaks off at the hinge. It is a major design flaw that occurs under normal use conditions. I love the glasses and purchased new ones after they broke thinking it was a one-time problem but it clearly isn't.

These glasses break extraordinarily easily
These glasses APPEAR to be an excellent buy: multi-focus glasses for $34.99. And, in fact, the correction is not bad. Moreover, the glasses fit reasonably well given the price. However, the construction of the glasses is quite flimsy. I ordered one pair in June and liked them for about a month. Then they broke, at a point at the right temple which couldn't be repaired. I chalked it up to bad luck and -- in view of the reasonable price -- ordered another pair in August. I handled them with extreme care and they functioned for about a month. Then, 3 days (!) after the return period ended, they also broke when I removed them (quite gently) from the pocket of my dress shirt. With both sets of glasses, I always handled them with care and kept them in their cases when I wasn't wearing them. But their construction is quite flimsy at the temples, with no spring or other mechanism to absorb even the slightest stress. I've attached an illustration of the break and suspect that many other buyers have similar experiences.I would recommend that buyers avoid these glasses unless/until Foster Grant improves their construction.UPDATE (05-Sep-16): I just wanted to add that I reported this situation to Amazon Customer Service. To my amazement, they refunded the purchase price despite the fact that the warranty period expired some days ago. Amazon is THE BEST!

Coating works well but weird distortions make it like you have an astigmatism. Top doesn't go down to +0.0 for further away.
I bought these glasses hoping I could have something for reading up close, using a monitor, and seeing far away at the same time.As a plus, the coating causes these to have a clearer image then the $2.99 reading classes I usually use. But the minuses outweigh the plusses.Minuses include --The glasses distort so when you tilt your head shapes deform like you have an astigmatism. The upper part doesn't go down to +0.0 so they are okay for looking a monitor 2-3' away but you can't see far away like not having glasses at all. I'd think glasses that go from +1.5 to +0.0 would be much more useful as I wouldn't have to look above them to see people and objects further away. The image isn't the same magnification all the way across. The sides are different than the center. Even when you keep your head exactly level, when your turn your head left and right, things warp in a disturbing manner. These glasses would be great if they were +1.5 ALL THE WAY ACROSS the bottom, +0.75 ALL THE WAY ACROSS the middle, and +0.0 ALL THE WAY ACROSS the top but they fall woefully short.I doubt I will use these glass at all because of the problems I cited above. Were they worth a try? I may have wasted $17. At least I learned that I like coated glasses.

The coating on them is a problem
I can't wear these. The UV coating seems to distort the image. If you hold the glasses in your hand and look down at the front of the glasses the lenses look almost iridescent and reflect bluish/green and that may be why the image is distorted. I have a light above my computer and noticed it reflects green in the lenses. But my computer glasses with a light yellow tint, the light reflects in the lenses normally.Plus, I can't get them clean. This may also be the coating. If I hold them up and look through them, they appear clean but then when I put them on they seem smeary but that may be that distortion from the coating.I've worn glasses for over 50 years and never had this kind of problem. I recently had cataract surgery so don't need the distance correction and thought I'd try these because I don't like looking up with readers on and it's blurry. The frame seems nice, though I see a lot of reviews about breaking, and I think they'd be ok without the coating.

Great idea, defective product in my case, seemingly difficult customer service
Love these glasses, just wish they lasted longer than a month without breaking.I purchased two pair — first one broke via defect. Customer service just a wee bit difficult. I've posted the emails below. As of noon 5/26, still waiting to hear back from them. Will add that email shortly after I receive it. Caveat emptor. If I get satisfaction from them in the way of a refund for the first pair I'll change my rating. If I have to jump through hoops or don't get satisfaction it will remain one star. Here's the email thread:On Tue, May 26, 2015 at 10:03 PM:Hello -I purchased a pair of Conan multifocus readers off Amazon.com at the end of April.LOVE them, but the left bow popped off the metal attachment (and a tiny piece of the metal broke as well.)I am heartbroken at having to go back to doubling up glasses, and wonder if you have a warranty that would cover this.I purchased another pair on Amazon just tonight. I’ve enclosed both invoices for your review and would be happy to send you the broken pair as proof. Please let me know if you would be able to refund my money for the additional pair I had to purchase. Many thanksOn May 27, 2015, at 9:46 AM, Unknown fgxics <[email protected]> wrote:Hello,Thank you for contacting Foster Grant. It broke at the bow just as I described in my first email.Happy to send it back. Prefer to send photos, as it appears I would be paying money to ship back a defective product that came apart a month after light usage and I don't think that's right or fair. I think it's important to note that I have a slim head and face and the bows were at no time under stress. I also never wore them on my head – I wore them on a glasses cord.I have included in this email the invoice for the first one that I purchased, photos of it broken, and the second invoice for the one that I bought yesterday to replace that broken one.I don't need a replacement from you, I need a refund for the broken one. I stated in my first email that I have already ordered a replacement.I'm gonna post my review on Amazon.com with this conversation so that others can see what to expect when the product fails.I actually looked at someone's review online and they had experienced the same problem and got a refund. I was hoping to have the same experience. Thanks
