Great pencil!
This has been my favorite since the first (of 3) arrived years ago.

Not At All As It Looks In Pictures
I was expecting a very light, flimsy plastic pencil - but the rOtring Tikki is pretty heavy, very sturdy, and looks a lot less "cute" than it does in pictures. This is a very serious mechanical pencil with a strong clutch, some real heft and a sleek, serious design. A pleasure to hold and a pleasure to write with. Hands down the best mechanical pencil in its price range.

Nostalgic
I’ve fallen in love with this pen since my childhood, personally love the old version of this more. But the quality is always there. BEWARE when you dropped it though, if you’re unlucky enough to drop it by the tip on a hard floor, the pencil will be totally ruined cause the metal tip will be smashed and bending in makes it impossible for the carbon to come out.

Good for sketching
I like this pencil for sketching. I haven't used it for writing, but it should be ok for that too. 0.5 lead is good for detail work.

Great value
I'm using the Rotring tikki for drawing and sketching details as a part of my graphite pencil line up. It is a super value for the price. Very well balanced.

Very disappointed
I bought this one because I remembered Rotrings’ great technical drawing pens. I guess their quality is not the same anymore. This mechanical pencil feels comfortable in your hand, but I t’s completely useless for writing. The lead breaks every few words if you put a little pressure or hold the pencil at an angle to the paper. The only way I have avoided the lead constantly breaking was holding the pencil vertical and writing very lightly. I went through several leads in less than a day, until I stopped using it. A complete waste of money.

Comfortable
No dislikes on this mechanical pencil! It's comfortable for writing, soft rubber, slim enough for my fingers to not cramp when using it. Don't take long to start using once the lead has been filled. It's nice fits my needs and price not bad either. I would definitely buy this product again.

Great mechanical pencil
I am a geologist and frequently need a sharp pencil handy to annotate maps, etc. In addition to looking nice, I like the pencil's non-slip grip for my fingers. The reason I have not normally used mechanical pencils in the past is the frustrating tendency for their lead to be constantly breaking when used. I don't know if it is the way this pencil is engineered or because I ordered the thicker 1.0 mm lead, but the lead has not broken once yet. I am now a believer and will be ordering backup pencils soon.
