Stimulating and fun.
Couldn't find these in the stores, and I was delighted to see they are still available. Great to teach cause and effect and small motor co-ordination. I gave this one and the Playschool Busy Poppin' Pals to my granddaughter when she was about 18 months old, and she loved them. And it's great to have no separate parts to keep track of.

Easy to use, bright, and cute
The only reason that I gave this four stars is because three of the buttons can be activated by push. The yellow is supposed to be a turn to open, but if it's at the right spot, you can just push on the yellow button and it will pop up. Someone had reviewed this and cautioned parents about their child getting hurt. I read the review and wondered how that could possibly happen, it sounds impossible? When when I got the item I started feeling around inside and realised what must have happened. While the pop-up is opening there is a space between the bottom of the animal and the white area of the toy on the top. If you feel around in there, there are a couple of sharp corners (that serve what purpose I couldn't tell you). So, if a kid opened this toy, then started to depress the animal to close it and got their finger inside on accident, but then didn't close it all the way, their finger could get stuck in between the bottom of the animal and the white part of the toy as it popped back up again, and as it's sharp, yeah it's definitely possible for an injury to occur.Overall, it's a great toy, just keep in mind that younger babies probably need to be supervised while using this.

So-so quality
The latches don't always catch when my little one is trying to snap these shut. It's light and feels like pretty cheap quality. Taking it out of the packaging leaves some really nasty little sharp plastic bits sticking out of the bottom that need some attention. But on the plus side, it has a handle, which makes it great for carrying all over the place to play with.

It's an okay toy.
I would have given this toy 1 star but my son does like playing with it. The problem with it is that it doesn't require any fine motor skills to operate. My son quickly discovered that if he simply pounds the buttons as hard as he can 3 of the 4 animals will pop up. He never even bothers to turn the yellow key to get the last animal to pop-up. I guess in his mind 3 outta 4 ain't too bad. The box seems to be built solidly and the doors open and close smoothly. It's a fun toy, just not very educational.

cheap cheap cheap
Pretty much all four of them will open if pressed. So much for learning to twist, etc. This is just very cheaply made. Don't waste your money.

This is a must-have!
This has been one of my son's favorite toys for over a year so I'd say the staying power is pretty strong. Very reasonably priced and extremely durable. I like the color palate too and lack of noises or lights. Each opening mechanism is different and challenges little learners to hone their fine motor skills. My son learned the animal names from this toy, as he would play with it almost exclusively when he was around ten months old. He is now almost two and still finds it amusing. We got it when he was eight months old and he loved it even then. Sound buy and nicer than the other "pop-up" animal toys we have had. It's a must-have.

Pretty good toy
My 1 1/2 year old daughter loves this toy. The buttons to make it pop up gets stuck sometimes and not smooth. I wish this toy had the rubber grips on the bottom to keep it from sliding when set on the floor.

Granddaughter loves it.
I gave this to my 18 moth old granddaughter for Christmas, and as soon as she took it out of the box she was making it work. (I completely unbox the grandchildren's presents and wrap them loosely so even the little ones can open them without assistance) The green knob is a twist and that is giving her a little trouble right now. I received an email with an attached video of my granddaughter playing with this little toy after she got home the next day. My daughter says she drags it all over the house because she doesn't want her older brother got get it. He is too old to be interested but it is her current favorite toy.
