I purchased this for my father for Father's Day. I already own this product in many calibers and I have always preached the merits of owning one to my father. Well, he never bought one, so I picked one up for him. The reason I mention my father at all is because he is a novice shooter with limited time and/experience taking apart guns and cleaning them after a shoot. Typically he would go shooting with me and then jam his handguns back into the cabinet without ever taking the time to clean them. So, in ten minutes time, I successfully showed him how to disassemble/reassemble and clean the weapon with the Hoppe's Bore Snake.He found this process to be so easy, compared to the old days of brass rod and threaded cleaning tips and all the extra swabs and steps.You see, with a Hoppe's Bore Snake, all you need to do is let the brass weight fall through the barrel, grab ahold of the string, and pull the swab through the entire length until is is free of the barrel. The swab has several brass wires built in, so you get scrubbing action to clean the stuck on powder/debris and the swab cleans the residue that remains. Its so easy, my 6 year old nephew can use it.A few squirts of Rem Oil and one or two passes through the barrel and you're home free. If you've never used a bore snake, get one. They are totally worth it. No more rods to worry about! The snake is super easy to use and leaves the barrel in great condition after a couple of passes. You can then simply wash the snake and keep using it.The rest of the kit is pretty nice as well. The little case pouch is handy and compact and has a pocket inside so you can carry a second (and maybe a third) snake in the pouch.The can of solvent is a little small. It won't last very long if you have multiple guns and go shooting often. But the gun oil should last you a good while.I liked the bore snake so much I bought one separately (without the kit) for 9mm and one for .22. The .22 bore snake is a bit of a disappointment because it actually doesn't fit down the barrel very easily -- the pull string is almost the same diameter as the barrel itself.But the .45 bore snake is excellent and so easy.

Everything you need in one small kit. No need to look for misplaced items; this keep keeps the important pieces together and housed in the kit. Use the kit at home or keep it in your range bag.

Bought this kit to clean my M&P 9mm. An excellent kit, it comes with cleaning solution and oil. The bore snake has a nylon cable for threading through the barrel. The snake itself does a great job of cleaning without having to soak the barrel often.The thin nylon threading cable is a bit on the thin side. I proved this when it got stuck and I broke it in half. Fortunately there is plenty of length to keep feeding it through. If it was just a bit tougher, it would get five stars.

On average the big box stores were charging several dollars more for the same kit…and got it delivered. Win. Win.

This kit is pretty nice and is an easy cleaning solution for most users. I would have given it 5 stars, but the bore cleaner included is an aerosol versus the traditional bottle and it says it expires June 2024... Amazon has taken care of me, but be warned that the bore cleaner may or may not spray.Please note, it does not come with the gun cloth!

Does what is says it does , it cleans, wipes and oils the barrel all in one pull. It is amazingly clean my barrels on my 9mm and my wife’s 380 . And the kit comes with spray cleaner and oil for the guns. I recommend getting narrow cotton swabs and wipe pads . They help too. But this kit is awesome.
