Too short. Gonna try half size larger.
I ordered my usual size of 11 extra wide. When I tried these shoes on the width was great but the length was too short. The end of my big toe was rubbing at the tip. I wanted to exchange it for an 11.5 but Amazon did not offer one in the extra wide width. I have returned the shoes and ordered a different style of Nautilus shoes. An update:I have tried three different pairs of Nautilus Safety Toe shoes. The 1392, 1340 and 1317. The first pair I ordered in my usual size of 11. I usually get a wide size and these were offered as extra wide so I chose that width. When I put them on my first thought was that these were just as comfortable as my New Balance Sneakers. But when I stood up my big toe was hitting the end of the shoe. The width was just right. I sent them back. I wanted to get another pair of 1392 in 11.5 but it wasn't offered in a wide width. So I ordered a pair of 1340 in a 11.5 wide (not extra wide). I tried them on and the length was OK but the width was not. So I ordered a pair of 1317 in a 11.5 extra wide. When they came in my toes were still rubbing. I started to order a pair of 12 extra wide but then changed my mind. After three attempts I figured Nautilus just wasn't going to work for me. I wanted these because they are advertised as having an "extra wide" toe cap. Still not enough room for my toes. I think they would be very comfortable if you can find a pair that fits.

Great shoes just a little heavy
Love that they actually had my shoe size. They are a little heavy when walking.

The Real Truth
Hiya,I've had a pair of these for over a year and a half and rotate them out with the slip on types with the same tread. Minimal breakin and very comfortable thereafter. Just today the seam outboard of the forward lace area split open (at the sole)I cut the other shoe to match and will wear these until the new pair shows up.Bear in mind I've been wearing these shoes 13 hours a day/7 days a week in both Iraq and Afghanistan and they've been great. I also ordered a cheaper pair also by Nautilus and for some reason received a $35.00 promotional credit. Having said that I'm out the door with 2 pairs of safety shoes for $105.00 which is 8 dollars more than I paid for the pair that failed today, purchased a year and a half ago... Go figure :0)RegardsMike T

WILL BUY SHOES IN PERSON NEXT TIME
Bought these because of the dangers of warehouse work, and the difficulty in finding shoes in large sizes in our living area. They have saved the toes in dangerous situations when products have fallen, but will be replacing them with something more true to what actually fits.

Not wide enough...
I ordered the shoes in the wide size and these seem to run a bit narrower than others that I have owned. Also, the insoles are paper thin. I recommend adding additional insoles for extra comfort.Other than that. I have had no issues with the safety toes as I have in other shoes. They look good and appear to be wearing well. I would recommend them to someone whose work is divided between standing and sitting. I'm not sure if I could stand in these shoes for an entire shift.

XXW shoe with narrow Steel Toe
This is a hard shoe to rate. When i got the shoes, they fit ok, but a little tight on the toes, everything else was great. I figured they would break in... I like the look., the material, the feel on my arches and heal..., I have really bad arches and heals from years of running in the military, so this is critical to me in a good shoe. But after wearing them for a few hours, and my feet spreading the material out and breaking in, my foot started aching from rubbing on the steel toe. They are selling the shoe to me as an EXTRA EXTRA WIDE shoe and the steel toe is a narrow steel toe. A truly quality work shoe will use steel toes that are the proper width for their width size. This is not a matter of breaking in a shoe. You cannot break in steel toes, but you can end up with sores or damage your feet with by wearing narrow steel toes...Shoes may be suitable for people with narrow feet, and I would recommend them for anyone with narrow feet and arch problems, but... not for someone with wide feet.

Shoestrings!!
Shoestrings!! The metal eyelets that the shoestrings pass through are thin and too sharp. They CUT the shoestrings quite easily. I used a pair of side cutters and removed them and rethreaded the new laces through the loops that held the metal eyelets. A timely save for an otherwise very good work shoe. I love the broad steel toe, it makes my toes forget they are wearing steel toes.

TRY IT
Have spent my whole life trying to find the perfect work shoe. 10 1/2, 6E. Hanover, Red Wing and all the rest. Some good, some bad. Have been buying these safety shoes/boots for twenty two years. I actually spent time researching this product. Thank you for the guidance, it worked. These shoes have delivered. Less than a two day break in period. Did not even bring the old pair just in case. Now it has been two and a half weeks. Feeling great. I did purchase size 11, EW. Could not endorse this shoe more. Looking forward to one or two years.

Calzado de Seguridad moderno
El calzado al inicio de su uso es un poco rígido, pero conforme se va utilizando se vuelve mas cómodo aunque el rango de comodidad es menor en relación al ancho WIDE.
