Works flawlessly
My previousc1gb without hdmi went bad within 3 years. Got this for a cheaper price than it. I have a old windows Xp single CPU box which was very slow with on board graphics card. Now PC is fast as all the display work is done by the graphics card. We are not gamers and I have not used the HDMI.

Patience and glue needed
After I resolved the mechanical problems the card works well. The short brackets with punch-out screw holes for cable connectors are not properly aligned with the board components. The HDMI affixing screw cannot be used with the DVI port attached! After several tries and dropped microscrew events, I eventually I just used crazy glue to attach that part of bracket. If you need to add a missing HDMI port to your desktop, this card or perhaps its 1GB version seems to be a very good solution. Runs cool and quiet, doesn't stress power supply very much. I have a 240W low profile HP running Win 7.

Good all around video card
This was bought to upgrade a dell dimension 740 series desktop. My son wanted a system to run Minecraft, and the one he had was horribly slow. This card worked well, and was a snap to install and setup. I used it some for displaying on a 42" LCD and found the HDMI output quite sharp (almost too sharp). The adjustments were easy with the included software, and I was very pleased with the frame rate and overall performance of the video.

Slower than on-board video - Dell Inspiron 660
I purchased this because I was disappointed with the speed of the on-board Intel HD graphics on my brand new Dell Inspiron 660 Desktop. They were, by far, the slowest part of my Windows 8 Performance Information report at 5.2. I never use my PC for games, so I don't need a lot of speed and I am not willing to invest in a new power supply just for graphics. But the pictures were speckled and the text was in poor contrast, compared with my 5-year old gateway (with IT'S internal graphics). I also thought that getting the 2GB back from the shared video RAM would mean other things might run faster. So, I thought this was an inexpensive way to improve my video. But the performance went from 5.2 all the way DOWN to 3.9.Clearly, this is not a good tradeoff. Unless I receive some support (requested, but still not received) today that improves on that, it's going back. I cannot get into UEFI any more, so I can't turn off the internal graphics, but I'm told that the installed video card disables them.

Not a good option for Linux based XBMC builds.
I purchased this to replace a Radeon 5670 in my HTPC. It worked but I am running OpenElec XBMC and it would not pass through HD audio stream to my receiver. My previous card would do it once and then hang up. It would appear ATI Radeon cards don't like to play with Linux and HD audio. I bought a GeForce GT 610 and it works beautifully.

Great fanless quiet card with 3 ports (only 2 useable at a time)!
Great little card for running 2 monitors. It did speed up my computer. I know the Windows Speed Test in the computer is sort of odd, but it did show an increase from 3.7 to 5.3 for video. I am running two (2) 1080p 24" monitors on my computer using the DVI and VGA connectors. Plugging the HDMI output into a larger television does disable one of the monitors. CCC (a program by AMD for video control and settings) seems to be required to switch between the video outputs on the card. I have been running the card for a couple of months now with zero problems or complaints. I do recommend this card as it does not have a fan and removes some of the video load from the computers processor and memory.

Underwhelming But Win8.1 Compatible and Minecraft Looks a Bit Better
First off, I'm not a PC gamer (prefer consoles). I bought this to replace a RADEON HD 3850 (256MB) when I couldn't find Catalyst software that worked with my planned upgrade to Windows 8.1-64 in my Shuttle XPC SX58J3 (Older generation Intel i7, 16MB RAM).WEI Score DroppedUnder Windows 7-64, my WEI with the 3850 was 5.9 (using standard Windows HD video drivers). After installing the 6450 and Catalyst w/14.12 drivers and AMD Gaming Evolved, my WEI dropped to 4.2 with Graphics (Aero support) dropping ~1 point. This isn't a huge deal for me as I don't care much about Aero (esp in Win8.1) and I know WEI isn't a great gauge, but it still took the wind out of my sails to see scores drop after an upgrade. Since I'm not a gamer, I don't track trends in GPU tech but I guess expected something better just based on the huge jump in RAM. No change at all would have been better.Recovered PCIe SlotThe 3850 was huge in my poor little Shuttle case and blocked the second PCIe slot. The 6450 is thinner and if installed in the outer PCIe slot, will free-up the inner slot. Installed in the inner slot, the heat-sink is pretty close to covering up the outer slot. I don't have any plans for the other PCIe but I like that the small case seems less crowded.Heat?I don't know much about the heat but with the Shuttle's cover off, I could almost immediately feel a bit of heat coming off the heat-sink. It doesn't feel too bad but I do wonder what the temps will be like once I put the cover back on. I let it run overnight and in the morning the temps felt the same. The 3850 was probably much cooler thanks to the massive fan/cooling.MinecraftThe next test was Minecraft (the only game that gets played on my PC from time to time). Before and after screen shots show that the graphics improved a bit. A quick run around a world and everything looked a bit smoother too. Switching back and forth between full screen still causes the screen to go blank but I'm not sure that has to do with the card ... and a quick tap of Win+Tab brings the game back. I didn't notice much change in temps after about 30 minutes of game play. Photo shows HD3850 on the left, HD 6450 on the right ... default settings in Minecraft.ConclusionIn a word, "underwhelming." The card says it'll support Win8.1, makes the Shuttle case feel less crowded and Minecraft looks a bit better ... and those were my main goals. But since this is my primary PC, I really hoped a jump from a 256MB card to a 2GB card would have had a more dramatic impact, even for the small price tag. $40 later and I'm wondering if I should have just dropped another $40 for a better card or $20 less for a different card that would have had the same impact. I guess I could also say I saved $40 by buying a card that met my immediate needs and try to ignore the lower WEI. Instead, I'll just say, "Meh, it'll do."

decent for the price
installed easily, software required re-boot (no big deal), allows me to run several games now with out that annoying lag.
