Review: Three months in --- this is a fantastic mouse - This is a very early, initial review after using the M801 Mammoth for a couple of hours. I'm coming from a Logitech G400, and two different MX518's prior to that. Overall, I'm very pleased with the mouse so far. 1. Size, Grip, Comfort (5/5) -- I have fairly large hands, and this mouse fits beautifully. I like the contouring and the slightly rough texture around the grip surface. If you have smaller hands, this may feel a bit unwieldy, but for normal-to-largish grip sizes, this feels great. I tested it with the full weight added, then removed a couple of weights to see the difference, and immediately put the full weights back in. Even with the full weights in, the Redragon M801 is still lighter than my G400 was, so I figured I'd leave it as-is. Really, this thing feels like a dream. Be advised that this is NOT contoured for left-handed mouse usage. If you're a lefty, you'll want to look elsewhere. 2. Software and programmability (5/5) --- Took me all of 5 minutes to get my DPI and mouse click presets back the way I like them. I LOVE the fact that I can have 5 different button profiles for different application uses. 3. Click reaction / sensitivity (4.5/5) ---- All of the buttons feel solid and responsive, really like it. My only real complaint is that the mouse scroll "click" feels just a tiny bit more mushy than I might like, but really it's a minor quibble, and more a personal preference thing. The thumb button closest to the front of the mouse does feel a bit farther forward than is really comfortable to get to, but the thing has nine buttons, and I rarely use more than 4. The programmability and comfort of the mouse more than make up for any complaints I might have. 4. Motion (5/5) --- Wow. Just wow. Coming from a G400, there was an immediate, noticeable difference in the fluidity and responsiveness. It really feels great. 5. Overall value (5/5) --- Truthfully, when my G400 started randomly disconnecting and reconnecting one me, I dreaded getting a new mouse. I'm to the point now where I don't do a ton of gaming, but when I do game, I want to have a good, consistent mouse to get me through my forays into Left4Dead and Assassin's Creed. I really didn't want to spend $50 or $60 (or more) for a gaming mouse, when my needs truly are minimal --- 4000 dpi with programmable intervals, 4-5 buttons, overall comfort. I was *THIS* close to dropping $60 on the Logitech G502 Proteus, when I saw desertcart ads for Redragon mice. After exploring 4 or 5 different Redragon models, the reviews were all consistently high, and the M801 seemed a perfect fit --- and all for only $26. If my opinion changes, I'll definitely come back and update this review, but for now, this looks like a fantastic purchase. *UPDATE 7/6/2018* --- Everything in my original review still holding true. Still absolutely love this mouse, would recommend to anyone looking to get an excellent gaming-grade mouse without shelling out extra $$ for Logitech or Razer.
Review: Been using this mouse for over a year, so far? FANTASTIC! - I bought this mouse a little over a year ago and it is still working like new to this day. I use it each and every day to play games, work in Photoshop, and surf the web. The amount of extra buttons on this mouse are enough for all the little shortcuts and things I like to do with them. The feel of this mouse in your hand is so comfortable to me. If you are a lefty, look elsewhere as this mouse is shaped for right handed people. The buttons are all very tactile and the left and right mouse buttons push fairly easy but not TOO easy to the point of pressing them accidentally while resting your hand on the mouse. The mouse itself comes with some weights to control how heavy your mouse is, a storage container for those, some software (on a tiny disc so make sure your PC can read those), some extra gliding pads for the bottom of the mouse if you ever need to replace them (I haven't had to yet), and the mouse itself. This mouse features up to 16400 DPI which can be fully configured and color coded in the software so you can switch between sensitivities on the fly. In the program you can change the color of the mouse to whatever you'd like it to be, however, some colors don't look quite right.. you can't actually get all the shades they say you can. You can set it to any shade you want but whatever lights they used just aren't capable of reproducing them correctly. But it CAN get any color of the rainbow just fine. Just don't expect to be able to fine tune your pink lighting. Also in the program you can assign all the buttons to do different things and color code your DPI settings so you will know what level of DPI you're on. The mouse has the ability to store different "profiles" with this information that you set. There is a button on the bottom of the mouse and that is what changes profiles for you when you are not in the program itself. You may be thinking, "Why do I need 16,400 DPI??". Short answer? You don't.. yet. For anyone unsure, DPI (Dots Per Inch) is a measurement that tells you how sensitive your mouse is. A higher DPI means you make smaller movements to move your cursor across your screen. For now the average screen resolution doesn't require a higher DPI right now because of it's size and pixel density. For example you might have to move your mouse one inch at 4000 DPI to make it go all the way across your screen, where as if you use say, 1000 DPI, you would have to move your mouse further across your mouse pad to make your cursor move all the way across your screen. By having the option to go to 16,400 DPI, you are future proofing your mouse to be able to handle a higher pixel density/bigger monitors as they become more relevant/common in the future. After using this mouse for over a year everyday, all of the buttons still function like new and I haven't had any issue. I saw a review on here talking about the coating of the mouse coming off and mine has not. I can see a TINY bit to wear but nothing is coming off and nothing feels weird about it, all the texture is still there. I am not sure how it would stand up to someone with sweaty hands though, I personally don't have that issue so I cannot attest to the durability in that department. The laser sensor on this mouse is very very precise and works well on multiple kinds of surfaces. I use mine on an extended mouse pad that houses my keyboard as well. I have never had any issue with the responsiveness of this mouse. The braided cable is an excellent premium feature that I did not expect to find in something with so many other features at this price point. It also has a Velcro type piece on the cable for cable management/storage purposes. For what you pay for this mouse you get SO much more than what you pay for in my opinion. Also found on the bottom of the mouse is the weight compartment, it looks like a big circle cut out on the bottom. You just twist it and it will unlock allowing you to remove it. It is somewhat difficult the first time and sometimes after that to get it off since there is nothing for you to really hold on to to pull it out. I just kind of shook the mouse a little and it ended up falling out. That could have been executed better but for the price it is a small complaint. The function of this mouse exceeded what I expected and it has lasted me over a year so far and shows no sign of giving out anytime soon. I guess if I had to give any cons to this mouse they would be as follows; the weight compartment is a little hard to get off sometimes due to lack of placed to actually pull it out with, and the LEDs in the mouse not being able to fine tune colors. Other than that I can't really think of anything else, and functionality wise, you're getting much more than you pay for. All in all, I give this mouse 5 stars. It does everything I and expect to do and then some. Highly recommended, I would spend my money on it again.

**Q: Does this last through the daily beatings of a WoW player?**
A: For WoW, you'd want something like the perdition. I've found that mice, no matter the game, well last longer if you ease up on click pressure. It's all subjective though, I've had high end mice die in a few months and bagin bin ones last years. For the price, this mouse is great. Worst case, it doesn't work for you and you move to another.

A: Yes, I've had no issues with it at all on windows 10.

**Q: What does the "power button" activate? and can the "power button" be programmed specifically to certain tasks?**
A: i really didn't understand why they called it "power button", its just another button and as the other is full customizable at the 5 different profiles.. only one button is not customizable and is a little one located below the mouse and its a profile changer, so its perfect solution for changing from an specific game profile to another one.

**Q: would this be good for league of legends ,(summoner spells/items)?**

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Mouse, Despite Confusing Branding. The best. I intend to buy a bulk of these.

Update: Even better. In my original review, I ask for one more button. With the software included for this mouse, you can actually get one more button out of it. Thanks to being able to use the one-click iterate through DPI modes, I can use one button as the DPI toggle, and I can use one of the two DPI toggle buttons. I can have CTRL, Shift, Alt, Page up, and Page down on my mouse. It is insanely productive, ergonomic, and useful. This is my favorite mouse ever. I've bought two now, and I hope to keep buying more in case they ever stop making them. I had a Redragon Lavawolf mouse for approximately six years. I used the device rigorously, daily, and easily achieved hundreds of thousands of clicks with it. If not breaking a million. It took one hell of a beating under my hand, and it stayed intact. Even though pieces of it were starting to wear off from raw mechanical abuse, I still have it tucked away as a backup mouse. That being said, I knew it was time to upgrade. I had originally been looking at other brands for something that could improve my workflow. Upgrading from a barebones logitech mouse to the Lavawulf gave me +2 buttons (not including the variable DPI, which I don't change very often for me, but is super useful for letting other people use my computer on rare occasion.) Those +2 buttons, over time, drastically improved my workflow, and also gave me a great deal of ability to function in games. I've always been dissatisfied with the majority of 10+ button mice on the market, as I'm not a serious MMO player, and very few games seem to make such an arrangement practical. Let alone most working environments. I wanted something with an accessible 2-5 buttons. Upon considering just how well my Lavawolf had served me, I returned to Redragon. And it took some searching, but I eventually found what I wanted. And that was this mouse. And I am very, very glad I did. This mouse features three buttons on the left side, where my lavawolf had two, and it has an additional button to the left of the left-click; this is titled an ACTION BUTTON or something for some reason. It's just another key input. The competing mouse I looked at had five buttons all on the left. And while I'm sure I could've gotten used to it, I think I made the better choice in terms of a practical workflow. Would I have liked to see them try to add one more button to this sort of configuration? Yes, actually, for a reason I'll state below. Am I dissatisfied? Not at all. All of the 9 buttons ont he mouse are programmable, but, you will probably only program four of them. As, the other five are your two clicks, your two dpi buttons, and your middle mouse button's click. PRO: Quality. The build quality is very good. The material has been improved from my original Lavawolf. Smooth in the hand, it doesn't seem to pick up skin-oils as easily, buttons feel firm and solid. The mouse is also larger, which is nice, because my hand completely covered the Lavawolf, almost touching my mat. Thumb placement is comfortable in various places. I can have my thumb on the left buttons when gaming for periods, though eventually it'll drop back down into the groove its intended for. Not a big issue. Perhaps ideally the buttons would be in the groove, somewhat? But then you have increased risk of unintended clicks. The button to the left of the left-click is, in my opinion, super ergonomic. My biggest problem right now is remembering its there, but once I do, it feels very smooth to use. PRO: Ergonomics and Functionality. How I use the mouse for workflow is Page Up, Right Ctrl, and Page down for the side buttons. And my button to the left of left-click is Right Alt. This gives me almost the full spectrum of keyboard shortcut executions from purely my right hand. Which is incredibly convenient. Even better, naturally fiddling with it has taught me keyboard shortcuts in browsers and applications that I wouldn't have known of otherwise. Not only that, but for gaming in games that allow Ctrl+ and Alt+ combinations, I now can use an extreme amount of keyboard inputs without moving my WSAD hand. PERSONAL CRITICISM: +1 More Button. The only improvement my workflow could really take, I believe, is +1 more mouse button, so I could utilize Right Shift in the same way. That's not as entirely necessary, as when I type, I can utilize the shift key very easily. But for shortcuts while I'm running the mouse, or for gaming, especially in games that allow Shift+ combinations, I could streamline my inputs even further. DRAWBACKS: Finding your Model and Associated Driver. The only serious drawback of the mouse is finding your drivers. The drivers themselves, while barebones, work very well. That's not the issue. The issue is, that the packaging for different mice is the same. My mouse came with product placement and advertising for a mouse that I didn't purchase. But, which fit the same packaging. Doubly so, there are no specific instructions to find your drivers. Trying to use that mouse's drivers didn't work, and fiddling through 'similar' drivers had to happen before I decided to just google search the product name off of this amazon sale page. THAT took me where I needed to go, and got me the right driver. I really don't want to have to knock the score for that... But, in the end, it is a pretty decent flaw that they should rectify. I did not have this problem with my Lavawolf, incidentally.
