Medik8 r-Retinoate Intense – Expensive Skincare Product but An Excellent Retinol Based Face Cream
This night face cream arrived in very premium gift packaging and would be a beautiful skincare present to receive. The bottle is contained within a heavyweight, flip open black cardboard box which is held together with magnetic closures and protected with its own cardboard sleeve which keeps it all together. There is also a ribbon pull tab to extract the bottle from the packaging and there is a comprehensive information leaflet included too. Unpacking this face cream is an experience in itself and I think the presentation is definitely luxurious. The plastic pump dispensing bottle contains 50ml of product and it has a nice smooth consistency with a pale peach colour and a pleasant scent. It applies smoothly and readily absorbs into my skin without leaving any sticky or greasiness residues. It is free from any artificial fragrances. The clever cream combines various ‘technologies’ which are patented and the resultant cream focuses on vitamin A and its anti-ageing benefits. It uses the following ‘ingredients’ to help achieve smoother and more even skin as well as incorporating a moisture boost in order to leave your skin feeling soft: • Encapsulated retinyl retinoate which is x8 more powerful than standard retinol (exclusive to Medik8) • Crystal encapsulated retinaldehyde which works x11 faster than retinol • Ceramide complex which deeply restores and nourishes • Drone targeted copper peptides to support collagen producing cells for younger looking skin • Hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate, smooth and visibly plump the skin The face cream is suitable for sensitive skin and hasn’t cause any adverse reactions with use. It effectively softens and smooths and I have really enjoyed using the product. I have been using the face cream at night as suggested after cleansing and massaged into my face and neck. Since this contains retinaldehyde, which is very potent, it is best to phase in the use of the cream gradually and be sure to apply sunscreen to your skin during daylight hours to protect against sensitivity as the use does make your skin more vulnerable. Do be sure to follow the instructions to ensure safe usage. Priced at £229 as a one-off purchase or £206.10 if you sign up to Amazon’s subscribe and save scheme at the time of reviewing, this is a premium skincare product and is an investment in your skincare routine, but I do actually think that it is making visible signs of improvement to my skin appearance, and the beautifully designed luxury packaging makes it a wonderful gift. So, if you afford it, I would definitely recommend this face cream and the Medik8 range of products.

Very expensive and heavily scented
This anti aging cream is nice but worth the £200 price tag? I'm not so sure. The product comes nicely presented in a gift box. The cream has a foundation style look with a peach colour. The perfume used in the cream I find incredibly overpowering. The scent reminds me of my nans floral perfume. The cream comes with a warning about the strong ingredients used and has to be applied gradually in intervals before it can be used every day. Definite good results but nothing so amazing to warrant such a high price in my opinion, wouldn't recommend.

Loved using this cream but I am no Benjamin Button!
First the shock - £222 for just 50 ml of Medik8 cream: you have to be kidding me! And to boot, the main ingredient is aqua (water to you and I). So is this product really la crème de la crème? Well the beautifully boxed item arrived and I have to admit I have fallen in love with the packaging. There is an outer sleeve, mirrored top and bottom plus magnetic side closure and a ribboned tab with which to lever the precious ’intense’ ‘patented technology’ out of the box. The dispensing container is premium as are the detailed, shaped, instructions. No expense has been spared and I do feel truly special in receiving this. If I was to make just one criticism regarding the packaging, it is to do with the labelling: even with reading glasses, the print is small. This unit works by a press pump action. It is ergonomically designed and most comfortable to hold. Pea sized amounts are discharged and this was then massaged into my face and neck. The cream has a most pleasant vanilla fragrance and it moisturised my skin well with no irritation. I could feel a slight temporary tightening around my puffy lower eye sockets and the crease lines around my mouth, indicating that this cream was clearly working some kind of magic. My face still felt very soft and hydrated by the following morning but I do confess I do not look like I have regressed to my youth (I am in my fifties). However, this cream does not promise instant solutions to the perennial ageing problem and my daughter did say my face had a youthful glow to it. So here am I thinking £222 and is it really worth it? I guess, this youth activating cream is far cheaper than more invasive procedures such as botox, fillers and lifts and is still cheaper than many other even more expensive branded creams. So, if you can afford it and if this product makes you feel like a million dollars, then perhaps the cost is justified. In short, I loved using this and can feel the benefits of a top quality face cream.

Never seen a plusher looking cream
I'm not into my creams and moisturisers and other doohickeys like that, but, when I mentioned to others than some pricey cream (and I do mean pricey) appeared for grabs I was encouraged to get it if I could. Apparently Medik8 is a big player in the realm of creams, I've just never heard of them. Anyway, this premium looking box arrived that was, well, akin to some high end tech packaging, and once inside you're presented with this little bottle with some printed information. Seriously, the presentation is fantastic. As for the cream itself, it's early days yet and I think I do see some "improvements" but time will tell on this one. It goes on smoothly and is readily absorbed by the skin, and does not leave any residue or undue scents. I guess like many of these things, the best results come with routine, but it is seemingly having a positive effect.

expensive cream, came in a box, not closed in any way, no film or seal, neither on the box nor on the bottle. 🤷🏻♂️
