RAM MOUNTS Marine Electronics Drill-Down Mount with Medium Arm

Wow! So I recently decide to purchase a Humminbird Helix 5 for our 17.5 ft Ranger Sport (1995). My plan was to mount the depth finder head unit on the driver's side and when I would stop to fish, I would be able to rotate it around to the front and use it that way as well being that I have a smaller bass boat and because I'm frugal and don't fish a ton anyhow. Ok, so it's a little inconvenient fishing from the front and having to keep turning to see my depth finder but it works just like I had imagined that it would. This RAM mount is strong, and simple to adjust to just about whatever position you need it to be in. I couldn't be any happier. This RAM mount does not come with any hardware to mount the Humminbird Helix 5 bracket to the RAM but its no big deal. I went to the hardware store and purchased some stainless steel locknuts, washer, and bolts and mounted the Helix bracket to the RAM in no time. It does indeed come with screws that allow you to fasten the RAM's base to your boat though. Super satisfied that I bought this thing. I love the fact that after a day of fishing I can quickly disconnect the depth finder and RAM mount and store it out of the way where no one can steal your depth finder.

This was the perfect part I needed in constructing my portable fish finder mount that I use on rental boats. It was easy to install with plenty of spaced holes for mounting in creative ways. It seems to be sturdy and did not loosen up and change positions throughout bumpy boat rides. It mates with the Humminbird Helix 5 Fish Finder unit perfectly with no issues. It allows me to position my fish finder in just the right orientation depending upon where I am sitting in the boat and where my portable fish finder assembly is mounted to the boat. I highly recommend this mount!

This mount is perfect! Used it to mount my Humminbird fish finder and it worked perfectly. Allows me to reposition in numerous different positions and locks in place just by tightening the bolt. Also made of metal so it's very sturdy

In my small tiller steered boat I used to have a Humminbird mounted directly on the seat far away on the left side, which was difficult to see and use. When moving to a new Humminbird I looked for a better mounting method and found this. It is slightly off center to the left of where I sit, I can lean it left, out of the way, or right, closer to me, tilt the screen to reduce reflections, rotate it around for a passenger to see, and it stays where I put it. I can even fold the screen down against the seat while trailering. The balls are rubber (or rubber coated) which grip very well. Very Nice! I might have gone with a long arm version if they offered it, but they only sell a long arm as a separate item.

Good product...slight cosmetic damage...a second? Heavy...can this be made of a lighter material? No mounting hardware...none! It would have been nice to include "typical" mounting screws. Also, would have been nice to include some type of conforming gasket for under the mount. I did not receive a receipt, mounting instructions, mounting hints or cautions...only sales material!

This mount is exactly what I needed. Installed it on a Yak Attack Cell Block. I had limited locations to mount the fish finder so this was a must have. There are so many adjustments that could be made with one hand. I could move the helix 5 out of the way while launching or beaching then put it up and tighten. Very easy to use. Only downside is doesn't come with hardware.
