This LOFTEK UV black light works very well. We have always had pets. We used to have several dogs, now we have cats. We are a multi-cat family. I have taken in very young orphaned kittens and bottle-fed them. They think I am Mommy. Lol. Those babies are now adults. (We have too many cats.) I know of several places my feline babies have urinated outside of their litter box. Now I know of some places I didn’t know about as well. I AM HORRIFIED!!! How does stuff get on the walls way up there? I know it wasn’t a dog or cat, unless we have an invisible one that is 6 feet tall. It must’ve been the kids and their friends over the years. Oh my gosh! I debated on whether we should burn the house down and rebuild. I am NEVER going to be able to clean it all up. With this ultraviolet flashlight, I can get a good start on it and clean the most important areas first. The pet messes are priority. I will clean the stuff way up high later. This LOFTEK black light is very sturdy. I put it on top of my new dishwasher (has not been installed yet), and then I moved the dishwasher to clean the floor. I forgot my black light was on top of my dishwasher. It fell off and hit the hardwood floor. KURPLUNK!! I turned it on, and it didn’t light. OH NO! I was bummed. It was only the second night I had used it. I took it apart, removed the batteries, put the batteries back in, put the flashlight back together, turned it on, and IT WORKED! HOORAY!! That was a few weeks ago. I have run around the house with my black light every night since then. This black light is metal instead of cheap plastic. I love my LOFTEK UV black light!!! I am going to buy another one. It is a very sturdy flashlight. If you want a reasonably priced black light to find pet messes ( and kid messes), this one is a good choice. There is no need to buy one of those expensive black lights. This one works really well. You will find things you are looking for, and lots of things you aren’t looking for as well. Brace yourself! It can be scary! Lol.

This UV light was such a good price for its claimed output, I had to pick it up and try it out. We live in Arizona and get scorpions every summer, so having a UV light for inspections around the house is a must. This unit replaced a cheap smaller drug store UV flashlight which worked, but didn't light up a very big area and you had to get close. This light puts out so much, you can use it as a regular flashlight in the dark. It makes UV reflective items glow from over 20' away. for example, I use the weedeater in my back yard to clean up the edge of our small grass area. I use a flourescent yellow trimmer cord, and this light picked up the tiniest little pieces of it all across the yard. Some from over 30' away! They shined like they were glow-sticks. It picked up small pieces of lint and made them look like stars. The UV output is so intense I could use it as light in the darkest parts of the yard. I must say, the output may be enhanced because I tried an 18650 rechargeable Lithium ion battery in it, in place of the 3-AA battery holder that comes with this flashlight. The chamber of the flashlight is long enough to allow even a protected button-top 18650 to fit in it. All I had to do was wrap some trimmed cardboard around the battery to keep it centered (the flashlight is about twice as wide as an 18650 battery) and the contacts line right up. I was able to screw the cap on the flashlight all the way down to the rubber gasket seal, thanks to a nice long spring contact in the cap and a deep recess in it. Sweet! I can't wait for some warmer nights to take this thing out in our surrounding desert and find me some scorpions! So far, we haven't found any in the house this season but I know they're coming.

The LOFTEK ultraviolet LED blacklight flashlight is AWESOME! We live in Phoenix and unfortunately, we have scorpions here. I haven't wanted to purchase a blacklight, mostly because I didn't want to know what might be lurking around the outside of our house. Last week my husband found one in the house and it freaked me out. I do NOT want to step on one, let alone our little kids step on one. SO...I broke down and purchased this one after a bit of research. Our bug guy who comes and sprays told me that the best one to purchase is at lest $50 - but I didn't want to spend that much. This one had very highly rated reviews, so I thought I'd give it a try! I'm proud to report that we found NO scorpions when we searched the house after dark. Come to find out, the scorpion we found in the house came from an Amazon box. (Hey, it comes with living in Phoenix). This blacklight works SO great! I actually made a mistake using it our bathroom. GROSS. I had no idea it would show what it did, but now I can say that it's cleaner than it ever has been. I've also never cleaned a bathroom in the dark, but sometimes you've gotta do what you need to do. It uses three AA batteries, that are not included. Once in, it works perfect. It doesn't overheat and also isn't a super mini flashlight that has a little area of light when you shine it. It has 51 UV bulbs that give you a nice working area when it's on. This was a really great purchase and the price is AMAZING compared to what our pest control company recommended. GREAT product and definitely recommended - if not for pests/bugs, you'll at least have a super clean house when you are done inspecting it.

Got home just after midnight so had to try it out (8yo shelter baby has always stress peed... He was lonely and needed a new friend, but 6 months later, the jury is still out on whether he likes his new brother, or merely tolerates him!) So, before I start: it's a black light (how am I just now learning this?!). 1. I doubt this will work on white carpets/flooring because it'll of course make the entire thing glow! 2. Vacuum first. I'm one of those people who has too much to do and zero time. Vacuuming is at the bottom of my to do list. It took me a minute to realize that, no, that's not random drops of cat pee all over the carpet, it's random fluff, paper, thread, cat fur, etc., etc. 3. Cat pee isn't the only thing that glows. Also vomit. Yay? (My cats have a favorite area of the carpet to vomit on, and I'm 99.9% certain they have never peed anywhere near that area.) 4. I partially cleaned the floors recently. Since the cat peed on it, a hard floor has been cleaned with Resolve for Pet Stains and multiple times with Pine Sol. The area where I'm pretty sure is only vomit has been cleaned multiple times with Hoover carpet cleaner for Pet Stains. An area with cat pee has had the aforementioned Hoover carpet cleaner and Resolve, and a *lot* of Resolve for Pet Urine. (Sorry I forget the exact names of the products and it's after midnight so I'm not going to look them up for this review). All of the areas still glow. The area with vomit may not have been cleaned many times, but the carpet with cat pee has recently had the carpet cleaner over it no less than 50 times (yes, I oversaturated it with Resolve for Pet Urine, so had to rinse and rinse and rinse...then oversaturated with the Hoover cleaner, etc, etc...). So I really can't say that I'm not doing a good job. It may not be visible to the human eye, but the cat pee and vomit are definitely "stains" according to the actual definition of the word (meaning "will never wash out", unlike "stain remover" products, which is by definition an oxymoron. Sorry, I digress.) 5. However - comparing the spots on the carpet that were most recently (and most thoroughly) cleaned with the spots that have not been very thoroughly cleaned (and/or only with the Hoover product), it does look to me that the older stains do not glow as brightly as the newer ones, so that may be helpful for finding any future stains! (Also, it looks like the Resolve for Pet Urine is the best product of the 3 I've tried, based on the probably un-scientific and very subjective "uv-light-test" I performed). So now that I have located the spots that have been missed with the cleaning, the New Years' Resolution (or before, if I find the time), is to clean the rest of the spots to hopefully finally rid the apartment of this stink! (Ok, it's not _that_ bad...but bad enough!) I considered taking/posting photos...but does the world really need to see how nasty my carpets _really_ are?! I think definitely not? (Maybe I'll reconsider at a later date though...)

Great so many uses. I got this for my crystal business and little did I know I use it to clean with. Shows pee spots from dog, grease on wall or stove. Love this thing battery life is long.

I saw some people said that it worked to see urine stains. I wanted to use it primarily because I have a puppy and I wanted to see if there was any previous accidents on the carpet that I didn’t catch. My puppy ended up having an accident on the carpet right in front of me so I use that opportunity to see if the light works and it didn’t pick up any difference. It didn’t even work with an accident that she had on the hardwood floor. Maybe that’s not the intended purpose of the flashlight, but I thought that it would work seeing some previous reviews. Other than that it is a sturdy flashlight, and I’m sure works well for other uses.

I'm giving this light five stars despite two major failures. For the first, I can only blame myself. I don't know what I was thinking when I got rid of my blacklight posters and tee-shirts, 40 or 45 years ago. Granted, a lot of them were for bands I didn't much like back then, but still and all! The second, though, is another story. LOFTEK clearly advertises that this light is good for seeing scorpions-- it's in the photographs and the text. I have used this light for weeks without seeing a single scorpion. It must be the light's fault, and not that I live in the Pacific Northwest, right? Seriously, though, while I can't vouch for scorpions, this light does its job and more. I was surprised at its brightness, and at its ability to spot everything from cat urine in the carpet to different dyes in tee-shirts. It's great for Halloween (who'd have thought of that one!-- see the photo of the monk's ghost below) Those of us who remember the '60s and early '70s will also remember the "psychedelic properties" of blacklights, which were probably all in our minds-- but it is fun to play with the light ina dark room, to see what shines out and what doesn't. I also didn't find the batteries to be any sort of challenge, although some reviewers apparently did. Recommended. Ewwww! I have to move. I thought hotels were disgusting, but I’m not sure I want to live in my house anymore after using this! I have a husband, two dogs, and two cats. Who knew what things you would find! Seriously though, this is great. It has helped me figure out where my elderly felines are going when not using the litter box. I used it in a hotel recently, and it is so much easier than doing an eye test only for bedbugs. (I have encountered them only twice on trips, but both times required a trip to the emergency room to deal with the effects of being bitten.) When you go to a hotel, place your luggage in the bathroom (or leave it outside your room) before you check for critters, so that if you find any, you can rest assured they haven’t contaminated your belongings. Then make sure you use this light!
