Becoming: A Guided Journal for Discovering Your Voice

LISTEN. I purchased this journal FOUR years ago. I didn't even get to finish her book. Life swept me away for most of my 15 years in the military and I just let what truly mattered go to the wayside: Me, my mental health and above all, my soul. I got out 3 years ago and wish I would have opened this up then. This journal is LIFE CHANGING. Thought provoking. Beautiful. I would recommend this to anyone who really needs a change of perspective, a shift in their life, or direction. We truly can't go where we need to go until we know where and how it all started. When your ready to do the work; this journal is waiting.

I'm a writer and enjoy using writing prompts as warm-ups, so I've been through dozens of these types of books.I really like that Mrs. Obama provided plenty of space to write so I can make this a dedicated, purposeful, keepsake journal instead of just a prompt idea book.She thoughtfully has a cover wrap showing her picture, blurb, ISBN, etc. It pops right off so you're left with a lovely hardbound book which is about YOU rather than her.The prompts are thoughtfully mixed, so you don't get stuck in a rut of ten in a row which are deeply introspective. There's pacing, so you'll have a few which are quite poignant, followed by something light like making a list of your favorite vegetables, followed by a lovey question about your grandmother or favorite music. I enjoyed the variety.I think you could approach this journal in one of two ways. You could self-edit as you write and pass the resulting book down to your children and grandchildren. Or, you could use this as a therapeutic workbook for getting through a rut in your life and then burn it. Your choice.I'm also pleased by the pricing. The books were $9 each and buy 2, get one free when I made my purchase. I'll give several as gifts.

Beautiful. Clean format, love the blue colour scheme. I love the open date format and the prompts for each page. You don't HAVE to do it daily, or even in order, but when you want to capture your memories and feelings it is there. I think in the intro Michelle did a great job explaining that it is more about taking the time to capture memories that is important, not necessarily the big events that hapoen in our lives but even the small parts and little random details that evoke a memory or feeling in the distant future. Even if you don't like Michelle Obama I woukd still invite you to pick this up. It is more focused on YOU and not so much about Michelle. All politics aside, it is a wonderful prompt journal that I would recommend to anyone and more unique than I have found it to be where I really have to stop and think about things.

I love the book, that's why I purchased the journal. It’s different from other journals and was such a great experience to go through and write in it.

This is hands down the best journal I have ever purchased. I’m 22 & currently childless but I’m already thankful that my children will have this to read when I am gone. I’m going to be purchasing another one to fill out when I am much older.The prompts are perfect. They do not send me down a rabbit hole of thought that has me up until 3am, but they do make me think. I always feel thankful for my memories & future after writing.The physical journal is also beautiful. Very well made & timeless. This is the perfect gift for almost anyone. Buy one for you & three for friends.

Lots of great writing prompts. Love that you can jump around within the book in any order and just fill in the date you completed each page.The only downside is that the journal does not lay flat when opened. While I’m writing I have to actively fight the book to stay open, resulting in a sore hand and sloppy handwriting.

I purchased this for my husband and he loves it!I highly recommend this product to anyone who was/is inspired by arguably one of our most impactful and influential first ladies; on a path of self improvement.

Compré pensando que era el libro... Pero no es, fue error mío, porque dice que es un diario.. no puse atención. Pero fue una buena sorpresa. Es un diario que te hace preguntas muy personales, que he hace pensar mucho sobre tu historia, y es bastante terapéutico. Es básicamente una manera de escribir su historia of "becoming" . Me gustó y ya estoy escribiendo. Ahora tengo que encontrar el libro jeje

Purchased as a Christmas 2019 gift for a sister. It comes wrapped in plastic, easy to wrap.A guided journal will help to find your voice and purpose based on 2018's number-one bestselling book, Michelle Obama's memoirs. I highly enjoyed reading her memoirs and this journal will be a nice gift for those who either did or did not read the autobiography.

the description of this book made me think it was Michelle Obama's book. Il is NOT. it is just a blank-page journal based on some of her comments.

Excellent delivery. Came earlier than expected. Distributor packaged my journal well. Also, this is hardbound and not simply paperback.

Received the book and it was a really old stock. Cover is discolored and u can see the Color difference fr under the book cover and the other parts which are not covered. Was buying as a gift and a disappointment. Such stock should not even be sent to a customer. Didn’t bother sending it back. Bought another gift for a friend instead
