Nice brand and beautiful guitar.
I purchased the guitar for my son as a Christmas present. I ordered black but it came in blue. My son was thrilled with the brand and this shade of blue . So if ordering I strongly recommend the blue because it was a big hit.

A lot of style with even more substance
Full disclosure: I am a total amateur hack player who started playing again in October, 2020 after a 20-year hiatus. I have one other guitar, a Gretsch electric hollowbody. I wanted a decent solid body guitar and I considered models like the PRS SE Standard and Epiphone Les Paul Traditional Pro, but decided on the ESP LTD EC 256 after listening to all of the online sound checks and reviews. I use a Boss Katana 100 mkii amp and I can get my Gretsch to sound like a Strat, so I wasn't concerned at all about the occasional mediocre rating the LTD's in-house humbuckers received. The set-up was perfect. Out of the box, the only thing I did was swap out the D'addario .10 gauge strings which came on the EC 256 for my personal preference Ernie Ball Super Slinky .09'S. The 256's Les Paul-style cutaway has a cool m, smaller cutaway in the back of the body which lets you play even the 22nd fret easily. One last note is that I have long fingers and I find the neck shape and fret board really comfortable. The bottom line is that this guitar looks really, really great, feels solid, plays great and sounds as good as it looks. I have no hesitation in recommending the EC 256 to other players like me.

Guitar is beautiful, just a couple minor things
Guitar arrived in about 4 days and was brought to my door by the mailman, not UPS/FedEx. Would have given it 5 stars, but there were/are some minor flaws. For one, when the box arrived there was a 3 inch gash through the cardboard, luckily this was on the side of the box where the back of the guitar lay, no damage from that. Next, the fret board has a few scratches in the wood on some of the frets, and there are some other minor cosmetic flaws, so this might be a b-stock guitar even though the description doesn't say so.Despite these flaws, the guitar still looks great, no problems with the way it plays! Honestly, i bought the guitar for about $70.00 cheaper from GearTree, so i can deal with a couple insignificant scratches. I would recommend considering a safer method of shipment when ordering musical equipment, such as UPS or FedEx, just to try to minimize problems.

Great Action
I am happy with this ESP . . ..I had a PRS which looked awesome but had high action. I wanted to turn a few screws . . .but thought the factory settings were where it was at. Regardless, I needed a new guitar and came around this beauty (black and gold) and realized it was a decent guitar to have. It wasn't a PRS . . .but I was able to lower the action on this guitar in a few minutes. Just a turn of a screw and there it was.The pick ups on this thing (humbuckers) are gold and sound jazzy on the rhythm setting. The high treble switch gave me decent solo room for distortion . . . and sounds great through a good amp. I don't like the fretboard inlays . . .but I'm getting use to them. I like dots on the fretboard to help locate where I am. I play a classical with only one dot on the seventh fret and I get lost, from time to time. This guitar has dots running up and down the fret board. The tuning heads are solid and stay in tune. This is not a problem . . .again . . .this ESP is not a PRS . . .but for the money . . .I made a good purchase and I'm happy with this brand.

Very satisfied ! The action feels great, and it stays in tune. It’s bottom heavy so it stays in position unlike some top heavy guitars with light bodies. It’s 8 pounds, I love it. Fretboard was dirty but cleans up well with Dunlop lemon oil!
