Primefit HRRUB380503 Industrial Grade Retractable Air Hose Reel with 50-Foot Rubber Air Hose

We've had this hose reel for about 3 yrs now in an industrial workplace. It gets used and abused 5 days out of every week. The original hose lasted about 8 months. This was with replacing the fitting and cutting back the hose due to it bubbling near the fitting a few times. It finally started bubbling in a few spots along the hose, so we replaced it with a goodyear hose. Another issue was the seals in the rotary fitting. They started leaking at about 14 months of use. Primefit sent another fitting under warranty. I put some grease on the seals before installing and have not had a problem since then with air leaking. Recently, we've had a problem with the reel not locking into position. The locking cam is severely worn. I just sent Primefit an email to get a new locking cam. We'll see how they do this time. I will try to update after I receive the new part...or dont. Over all I'm pleased with the performance we've gotten from this reel.UPDATE: 2/18/19 Primefit replied to my email by sending a link for the new locking cam on Amazon. I ordered it and just installed it today. Works like new again. It was a PITA to change though. This time I greased it and the ratchet, so hopefully it will last a LOT longer this time.

I wanted to like this. It's probably ok for you to buy and use it yourself at home if your grown up and are careful with your stuff. I bought a few and put them in my auto repair business shop. After about 6 months, every conceivable failure shows up. Retractor on 2 of them, the guide roller - the steel fatigued and completely broke off of the bracket on one of them, hoses......Probably ok for light duty home use. But they look like they are better than they are.

Excellent value; very strong spring and hose very flexible.Update: June, 2017: the ratcheting mechanism is still great, with a very strong "pull: however, the hose itself is still fine, but where it attaches to the ferrule for the quick-connects(the side where you attach your tools) has split over time and caused an air leak. Fortunately, I had a new GOODYEAR (red) hose that I replaced it with(not too difficult). However, I am disappointed with the quality of this assembly as I have never experienced this type of failure with any of my other hoses.

Purchased this unit for an industrial application and it is indeed heavy duty.Components and hose are nice, heavy duty commercial grade material. Mechanism on reel is smooth and retracts with good force.Only word of caution is that the unit is very heavy and you'll need to consider that when deciding where to mount. Wall anchors will not suffice and will need to be lag bolted in wall studs. I mounted a 2" x 6" spanning a few studs and mounted unit to that to give enough support.Great product.

1. After less than a month I found a large bulge in the hose at about 10' from the end.2. If the hose is already retracted when I start the compressor the reel sometimes leaks air at the inlet until I give it a spin.3. After less than a year I am now noticing the outer layer of the hose has torn all the way around the outlet end leaving only the inner layer intact.I've never had an issue with the reel/spring/locking mechanism.I bought this over the other ones on Amazon because I preferred the white color and I figured they were all basically the same.I will probably just end up replacing the hose that came with it with a new one, hopefully by then the reel still works.I would not recommend this to anyone or buy this again myself.

I like the build and quality. Not an easy install because of the weight, but that's good! It isn't going anywhere soon and the rubner hose quality is top notch. The best feature is the ability to unbolt and rotate the mounting bracket so that I can mount it in a hanging position with the hose portal at 90 degrees. This is one one solid unit. Used for home garage.. No air tools just air nozzles and tires inflated and such. Very happy... And I bought mine with slightly damaged packaging for a lower price from Amazon...

does not set itself accept at a single rotation so you will need to spend a little time ascertaining the right position for it to "hold". Occasional slows at around 45 degrees in the corner requiring more force or change in position to continue extending. Return works well

This reel seems to work fine so far. It was bent up a bit in shipping and I think it could have been packaged a little better. Overall I think it will last a long time because it seems to be well built.
