Just got into this, and it has went well so far. Give you the tools to get into this hobby and some wood so it’s worth the money.

I got this kit after buying the bird carving kit. I like the knives that came with this one. Especially the shorter one with the curved top. It seems to handle the wood better for me while the longer, pointy one worked well for more detail type work. Comes with multiple size blocks which is nice. I did not get a guide for any specific project but I found a Google Drive link on Beavercraft's website with various templates. The 1x1 blocks are a little small for me to do anything with. It becomes easy to snap when taking down to a smaller size as it gets thin.

I am a beginner whittler. I got this kit because several sources said Beavercraft kits are good, and so they are. However, the blocks of wood were smaller than I expected, but I suspect I did not read the details close enough. But I carved a little bear from it in a day, and it was considerably easy. The wood was soft enough, and the tools are very sharp. As a beginner, I'd say this is a good kit to buy. Make sure to wear protection on your hands!

The blades are sharp. The handles are unfinished unlike but i like to do stains myself anyway so this is actually preferable for me. The wooden black are soft, dry and clear of cracks or imperfections as advertised. This will be great for my 6 year old daughter to enter the hobby. The customer service is throught the roof, very solid.

They arrived, finally. Dull. Tool marks on blades. Easy to sharpen, if you know how.

Nice set for a new or older carver

I was expecting this to be a real challenge but I just watched some great YouTube videos on it and had a lot of fun creating things with it. It did surprise me by not coming with the gloves and sharpening board but the price was great so that helped. The supplied wood is easy to work with and I started by making a tiny pumpkin which turned out nicely for Halloween season.

Die Messer sind klasse. Schön scharf und handlich. Gute Beschreibung auf Englisch dabei und man kommt über einen QR Code im Heftchen zu sehr schönen Videos, die verdeutlichen, wie man vorgehen sollte. Macht total Spaß, damit zu schnitzen. Habe mir noch Handschuhe dazu bestellt, die verhindern sollen, dass man sich schneidet.

This is a great kit to get started with woodcarving/whittling. Both the knives were razor sharp right out of the box and you can start with whittling right away. The wood blocks provided are of good quality. I would recommend getting a leather strop with polishing compound to maintain the edge of the blade, and a pair of good cut resistant gloves for safety. You can get them separately or look at other kits available from beavercraft. Overall, this is a great kit for beginners.
