They show one starter and send the opposite,and then lied about what the difference is .... it’s all bull and false advertising. I can’t believe Amazon let’s them get away with doing business this way. I’m very disappointed.

Starter came in the mail packaged properly. looks good and appears good qaulity. went to put starter on and relize that it is put together wrong, had to dissassemble and put together correctly and then finished the install. once on engine it worked perfect. been used about 5 times now still seems good.

After looking at the price for marine starter I was shocked. Then I came across this one. Price was kind of low so I thought that it would be a knock off of the real thing. You know made in China out of cheap metal. LoL Well here in Washington you only use your boat for about three month out of a year so I said what the heck. Well this is on nice starter. I have been out on my boat a half dozen times since installing this motor and it works great. It was an easy install, bolting right up with the old motor mounts. The best is that I saved hundreds of dollars on the purchase price and by installing it myself. I don't know if it will hold up over time but it seems to be solidly built.

I priced this starter at my local marina and they wanted $200 for a rebuilt and $300 for a new one. I purchased this one through Amazon for $70 plus $11.80 S&H. It fits and works great. I will shop there again when I need something.

I purchased this starter about 2 weeks ago. I was skeptical because for the price of $74, I knew it had to be made in china. The OEM starter at my local dealer was listed for $280. However after receiving this starter and installing it on my 1985 Mercury 50hp and running it in the yard w/ muffs and taking it out on the water for a 2 hour test run. (had lower unit work done as well) I have to say I'm very pleased. I have cranked the motor dozens of times without any problems. At this price I could buy almost 4 of these for 1 OEM. I had to return it to them it would not fit our boat... Still waiting for my money to be return.... I'm sure it would have worked fine if I had a big boat..they did not return all my money... Only return 51.00 paid 64.00 and I had to pay to ship it back...
