simple to program
I bought this to simplify the rather complicated remote for sony soundbase ht-xt2 that we have. It is a nice size and easy to program with decent instructions. Now I can keep the expensive original remote in the drawer and only use it when I need to change the multitude of settings on the soundbase, for the rest of the time we can abuse this one (it looks reasonably robust too)

Awful
Did not turn on - looked in side and there is nothing really there just a chip - total waste of time.

Great product
Was sceptical due to some other reviews.Zero complaints, works great, learns as per included instructions, good IR LED strength to control across a room.Perfect replacement for my SMSL Q5 remote, which had a very weak IR LED.Would recommend for the price.

Bought for an elderly relative.
Elderly relative has a habit of hitting the source button on the original remote and couldn't navigate back out, leaving them without any TV. This has the all they require: on/off, channel and volume change. The only thing they have trouble with is the line of sight, the beam is quite narrow compared to the original remote. They have to almost point directly at the receiver on the TV for it to work.

Great for pensioners.
Bought for my Mother who suffers from Dementia. Set up volume buttons to control TV volume and channel buttons to control channels on cable box and power and mute buttons to control the power function on both appliances. Very easy to use now and good product.

Small price to pay, compared to a daily call on how to use the remote.
The remote has six easy to tune buttons where it can be tuned between TV and set top box. It requires the old remotes and then they can be stored away for this single device to control your entertainment. The only problem you will have with the remote, will be teaching your elderly loved ones how to use it... But 6 buttons is alot easier to teach than the smart remotes out there now. For an easier life, get this remote.

Seems to copy any function
Used successfully to copy the 'freeze' button for a school display with no remote. Hold the original remote very close when copying.

Make life easier!
First thing you should know: YOU NEED THE TV’s ORIGINAL RRMOTE TO PROGRAM THIS! I finally cut the cable cord and started streaming. I bought Roku sticks for my (non-smart) TVs. The Roku remotes don’t control the on/off or volume; these functions need to be controlled by the TV’s original remote. The problem is the TV remote has a million buttons and the chance of pushing the wrong button and screwing up the streaming program is great. I bought 3 of these remotes to simplify things. And they have. I only programmed the buttons I needed. In fact I purposely didn’t program the channel buttons. The directions are confusing at first; they were not written by a native English speaker. Each function needs to be programmed individually (on/off, volume up, volume down, etc). Sometimes it takes 2-3 tries but I successfully programmed 3 of these. Don’t give up! One note: the volume up and down button needs to be push repeatedly to change the volume. In other words holding it down will only change it incrementally. I’ve attached a photo showing the difference between the original remote and the new one. $9 to make daily life a little simpler is worth it!
