I'm a believer!
I decided to give this a try after reading about the benefits of chicory. I'm an avid coffee drinker and, in general, the stronger I can get it the better I like it. At home, I typically drink Bustelo (which is a finely ground espresso) but when I go out, I try to get the strongest, darkest coffee I can find. Now, make no mistake about it, this is NOT a replacement for that strong morning coffee, which I need to jolt me awake. I see this replacing the 3 to 5 or so other cups that I tend to have throughout the day and evening, as my comfort snack.I made it using a 50% mix of water and milk (2%), which I heated to a slight boil. I used 3 heaping teaspoons per 12 ounces of my water/milk mix. And, voila, I loved it! I didn't need to add any sugar, as it's fairly sweet on its own. As the ingredients say this is 100% ground chicory, I actually ate a spoonful of it and I actually liked it; however, therein lies the only problem! Since I like it so much and can see myself drinking so much of it to replace many of my afternoon / evening coffees, I wish this stuff were a tad bit less expensive. This particular vendor (TheNewMall) sells this 2 pack for about $17, which seems to be a really good deal, so far, so I'm going to stick with it for now.Again, it is definitely not a coffee replacement, as it is a little thinner and smoother. To that end, it reminds me of instant Sanka, without the gritty aftertaste. (I can never get Sanka grains to fully dissolve, no matter how hot I make my milk/water, but I do like it.) However, if it goes up in price any more, I would probably have to go back to my 5 Bustelo a day fix. But, for now, I'm definitely enjoying this!

Using a K-cup coffeemaker and can't find chicory coffee? Here's the workaround!
Ever since my wife and I honeymooned in New Orleans nearly 25 years ago, I've loved chicory coffee. Any time I'd see Café Du Monde or French Market in a store, I'd buy at least a couple of cans. And when I couldn't find that, I'd get a nice French roast and add some chicory on my own. (Usually that Coffee Partner that comes in the orange box.)But now we're living in the future, and my old percolator and drip coffee maker have been shunted aside for the K-cup coffeemaker. Yes, there are a zillion great options for it, but none of them seem to be coffee with chicory.I poked around Amazon for ideas and found this stuff. It dissolves in hot liquid (they say cold as well, but I haven't tried that), so I put a spoonful of this into the mug before I brew my K-cup (a nice French roast from San Francisco Bay Coffee, also available on Amazon in regular and decaf versions) and voilà! I'm back in New Orleans!Right now I'm just waiting to see how long it takes me to go through these first two jars. Then I'll be subscribing. And I'm trying to recall how the heck I ever found stuff like this before there was an Internet and an Amazon.com!

Great product, fast service
I quit caffeine awhile back, no easy feat, and this amazing stuff is what got me through. No, it does not taste exactly like coffee, but there are enough similarities that make me really enjoy it. It's not as deep, rich and complex, and there's none of the familiar bitter acidity you find in coffee. However, I think now I'm coming to like the chicory more than my coffee. That's saying something! The service here has been excellent, very fast and everything arrives packed nice and secure. My only complaint is the price. Last time I purchased online the product was $11.99 for a 2 pack, and now it's $19.62. I see they're now making it available via Prime, which may be the cause for the significant price hike. However, it might send me looking elsewhere. Here's hoping they can bring it down a little to somewhere in-between.

Great coffee-like beverage for the over-caffeinated office worker.
Tastes delicious to me - slightly bitter, with a hint of caramel - and leaves a more pleasant aftertaste than coffee. No sugar added, which is also a bonus.Dissolves quickly and easily in hot OR COLD liquid - I use a combination of water and soy milk - especially with stirring.I've tried a few different "fake coffees" but this one is my favorite. I guess France really has this whole chicory beverage thing figured out. Great product and I'm on my fourth bottle. If you enjoy mildly bitter tastes - like broccoli rabe, mustard greens, French press coffee - you'll enjoy this LeRoux chicory. You might even wish it was a touch more bitter (but maybe that's just me).

and this brand tastes the best for me
Compare prices! This product is sold by a number of vendors on Amazon, with wildly varying prices. Buy from the right place! On a flavor note, I've made a comparison of a number of chicory-based ersatz coffees, and this brand tastes the best for me. To be honest, I'm surprised how much variety there is amongst different brands: if you don't like one, you may find others that work for you.

New shape of bottle?
I ordered this many times over the years and today received a different shaped bottle. I think that when selling something new, one should update the picture to know what it is the buyer is getting. Has anyone bought this and received the slim straight bottle instead of the hourglass ones? I just want to make sure it is the most current product and also not a ‘fake’ substitute product. Thanks

Use their recipe.
On the jar the formula is three rounded teaspoons in a 8 oz (250 ml) cup of whole milk. I heated the milk in a microwave before putting in the chicory. The result is an excellent drink, slightly sweet and heady. I regularly use roasted and ground chicory in brewed coffee (both hot and cold brewed) but this is my first experience with instant Chicory. Good stuff!

K-Cups not being available with Chicory - the solution.
I love our K-Cup coffee maker except no one is selling K-Cups with chicory coffee. I grew fond of this flavor many years ago while working on the Mississippi river as a deckhand when I was a teen. Adding a level teaspoon of this great product to a cup of Donut Shop extra bold coffee gives almost the exact flavor as Community coffee with chicory. My long search is finally over.
