Yes, I was skeptical but I was also desperate. Now I am pleasantly surprised and very happy because this 3-inch topper literally transformed my firm mattress and absolutely cradled by body and added pressure relief for my hips, shoulders and lower back. My friend told me that I needed the 3-inch topper as it was considered the "sweet spot" for significantly altering the feel of a firm mattress. Boy, was she right!! Normally I wake up and my lower back is killing me. NOT this morning. This was worth far more than I paid for it. The only con was a very light odor but it was minor and after only a day it is almost unnoticeable, so I’m sure it will be gone in a day or two. But honestly, this topper helped my body aches so much in just ONE night that I don’t care if the smell lasted forever!! This was worth every cent!!

If you’re not getting a good night’s sleep; here is your solution, hands down!!! I never write reviews; but, sure need to shout this out for everyone looking for a pain-free nights’ sleep!! After researching and reading countless reviews for two days; ended up buying their 2 Inch CA King Size. Discovered soon that it is truly as described; plus, a whole lot more!!! Have suffered back injuries from horse incidents for years; been riding since age 3, now 68 years young!! Getting in and out of bed, turning over side to side, sitting up at night was all very painful… All these issues were depriving me from a good night’s sleep! My husband even built a step up box for the side of my bed in 2007 for my birthday, getting up and down a little easier. Noticed after the first night sleep on this Mattress Topper, I was able to get out of bed with an extra spring in my step. WOW, after only one night!!! It was like a miracle, no pain any where in my body!!! Stood at the side of the bed, and twisted at my waist and there was zero knife pains to my back!!!! This is truly the best purchase I have ever made for myself, which I do rarely!!! All these years, I’ve had to learn how to live with severe pain when trying to sleep; but, NOT anymore!!! I’m now able to turn over from side to side, even sleeping on my back is relaxing and comfortable now!!! Have no idea how they engineered this product; but, I am most grateful for their ingenuity and success in getting it to market!!! Arrived used. I reached out to the seller and at first they were telling me it wasn’t used even I told them it arrived with a dirty mattress cover (had a few hairs & with a mixture of body order and a few stains). After taking off the mattress cover for further inspection, I noticed a few rips. For me, the main concern was that it was obviously used, but since they were trying to just send me away, the rips started to bother me even more. It was supposed to be new (with no dirt stains, body order, hairs, or rips). I actually woke up today with them just issuing a full refund. I eventually just stopped responding to them as they were being no help so I was surprised they issued a refund. That made me give this four stars. I’m not using it as it honestly grossed me out, however, I did have my bf sit on it and he told me it does seem really comfortable and really soft. If you’re looking for something soft, this should work. If you’re looking for a foam that provides softness but with a bit of firmness, this one won’t be helpful. It’s easy to make that decision even by touching it. I was looking for something soft, so it would’ve worked for me. I’m really disappointed on my experience as I did extensive research and took my timing picking one. When I finally got it, I couldn’t use it. Overall score: foam itself (disregarding the condition in which arrived): 8/10 Customer service: 7 (mainly because they issued the refund without me thinking they would. That option wasn’t even discussed).

Everyone has a different idea or feeling of what firm feels like or what is too soft… so it’s really all subjective to the individual. But maybe this will help someone make a decision. I have a very bad back and a lot of pain. All I need is a very firm mattress with something on top to soften the blow for my joints. Don’t want to sink into something that makes a hole because that also causes pain. Don’t want something that is going to create a hot sleeping area. It was very difficult to find a mattress that met all my requirements. So we purchased a very firm mattress - as in ‘hard as a rock’ - with the plan to put a mattress topper on it. Basically to create a bed that works for me. The first topper was a 3 inch and it was WAY too soft. That was returned. Then I purchased this one. 2 inches is perfect. I am not sure if it’s because of the type of foam or the thickness of the foam, but this topper doesn’t leave a dent that you have to roll out of ( I am a small person) It doesn’t get hot like the first topper did either. The first one said it was memory foam and this one says its ViscoSoft . Whatever the difference is, it’s not as hot. But, I do have two mattress covers over the top of the mattress topper. I am not sure if having two coverings over it is making the difference in sleep temperature or not. This one seems to be just right. I am not waking up all night in pain, or waking up sweating. And I feel a lot better when I get up and move around in the morning. I do not feel like I'm sleeping on a cloud… I’d never expect that from any product. But I am extremely comfortable for the first time in about a year when it was time to buy a new bed. I knew it was going to be nothing but trouble when the old bed wore out. After 1 full year, 4 new mattresses, a lot of physical pain, and 2 mattress toppers… I have finally found the right combination. Rock hard memory foam mattress, and THIS mattress topper I would definitely buy this one again.

I purchased a new mattress and the showroom model was a lot softer than the one I received. I knew I had a well made mattress, but I was experiencing pain on my shoulders and hips. The mattress company would allow me to return or exchange it, but I wanted to give a topper a chance. The company could put an additional 2 inches of foam built into the top of a mattress for me, but I would have had to pay an additional $400 for that mattress.I figured a topper for under $100 might be a good fix. What I learned about buying mattresses is that you seldom will get the perfect one or it might feel great but just for a short time. Opting for a firmer mattress with a topper is the way to go. I read tons of reviews before I made this purchase. I am very happy with this purchase. It totally eliminated the pain I was experiencing on my too firm mattress without making the sleep surface too soft. It was just soft enough to give me cushioning under the pressure points--just what I was hoping for. I didn't detect any unpleasant smell when unpackaging and found the size to fit perfectly on my queen bed. So thank you to anyone who gave an honest review here (and after every product they buy on-line). It really helps others.

This almost made the cut but the lower price doesn’t make up for the lower quality as compared to premium toppers (I’m returning this item). The positive. The quilted fitted type mattress cover that comes with it is good quality, but it also stank intensely from the foam’s off-gassing. No big deal, washed that and aired out the topper for a couple days and the odor disappeared. It’s better than a cheap egg carton type topper for comfort and fit. A sore shoulder was distinctly more comfortable on the topper. It wasn’t very hot the few nights I used it so I can’t speak to it’s cooling ability but it did seem very breathable, which was nice. The negative: It started shedding tiny blue foam particles immediately upon opening and while moving it around to air it out. A few little surface tears either were already in it or happed just from minor handling. To be fair I bought a king size and it seems that a smaller size would handle being moved better. The style of my bed doesn’t have a head of foot board and the topper shifted a couple inches off the bottom in just 3 nights. This topper would probably work well in a dorm room or camper but I can’t recommend it in the larger size for a larger primary bed.

I ordered this product as a massage table topper since my massage table is a little too firm for some of my clients. It arrived on time with appropriate packing. It was easier to unpack and handle than other foam mattress toppers I had previously purchased from another manufacturer some years ago (Novafoam, whose products I love) because it did not cling as much. Also, it did not have unpleasant smell, so I could lie on it right away — some forms need to be aired overnight to rid of their strong smell. This foam is 2-inch thick and my Novafoam products are 3-inch thick. Maybe for that reason, I found this product firmer than the others when placed on the same surface. Personally, to sleep on overnight, I like the extra give that the 3-inch products provide, but I can see people loving this 2-inch product for its sufficient comfort and support (in fact, I may be totally okay with this if I had not had the chance to compare). If you are placing it on a softer surface than my massage table, this firmness may work to your benefit. Additional bonus is that it is not too heavy, not too bulky so it is quite easy to handle. I considered many other options before I chose this product (thickness, surface contour, price, etc). I am very pleased with my choice.

Great, provides support, my back has hurt way less now. If you have an older or crappy mattress, buy this. Your back will thank you later

First of all, I did TONS of research on these toppers before buying one. I read too many reviews of the product coming from China and having an "awful smell". So I finally found TWO that are actually MADE IN THE USA. From the product descriptions, I liked Viscosoft best. And I was right! I originally bought the California King so I could cut it up and make dog beds for my 11 year old Rottweiler, who is often stiff when getting up. I managed to make 2 big ones (both in the family room) and one smaller one (in the bedroom). Then I ordered 2 more for myself and my sister, who is a real "problem sleeper". I LOVE mine, and my sis said she sleeps like "a dream" on it and doesn't wake up in pain from tossing and turning all night. All 3 were the 2". So today, I ordered a 3" for my dog, so his bedroom bed can be cut bigger (45" x 52") and be even better for his sleep since it's an inch thicker. I even ordered a beautiful soft blanket to cover it (and may review after I receive it). The bottom line is--ANYONE who is reading this and is debating whether it's worth it--YES!!! IT IS!!!!! You will NEVER regret buying this, and you will sleep better than you ever have in your life. No funky smell, no wondering where the material came from--just a "dream pad" for Heavenly sleep, awakening without the stiffness or soreness that comes from a regular mattress. Oh, and it's NOT "hot" to sleep on. It's just perfect. Give your body the gift of a perfect night's sleep. This is one of the best things I've ever done in my life--and I simply can't praise this product enough!

After a LOT of research, I kept hearing amazing things about viscosoft, and I can confirm, they do not disappoint! My mattress has been nearing the end of it’s time, but I wanted to try and save it a little longer; this topper is doing wonders to prolong my mattress AND help my chronic back pain. It’s so comfortable, and allows a happy sleep with even pressure along my whole body. I recommend this topper!

Mattresses comfort is subjective. This is very comfy but for me I sink in a bit much, find it too soft in time, and find it gets too warm. My husband really likes it though. We spent a lot on brand new mattresses and the one we got feels far inferior to the one we tried in the showroom. It is much more firm than what we thought we were buying. Having read this same experience from many people on line, I am beginning to wonder if there is a bait and switch in mattresses. I will never spend too much on a mattress again. I believe there is the right mattress topper out there for everyone. I ended up getting a latex mattress topper. It was more expensive but a bit firmer and doesn't get as warm as memory foam.

We bought a 3 inch ViscoSoft Memory Foam Reflex Cooling Gel Mattress Topper less than a month ago. My husband has arthritis in his shoulders and couldn't find a good position to sleep through the night. However, with the ViscoSoft Mattress Topper he has been able to sleep soundly and in comfort throughout the night.
