Men's Ironman Triathlon Classic 30 Oversized 43mm Watch

I have owned three earlier models of these things going back to the days when I actually ran road races. They are brilliant pieces of work. My only complaint of them was that the start/stop/split button(s)--there were two on the older models--were too small. Well, apparently Timex listens and the two small buttons are now combined into one larger one. Probably this was done years ago but I'm only now getting back into road work, so now I get to discover it.The perfect watch? Almost. I especially like this model as my eyes are not what they used to be and the oversized face makes it easier to read. The downside to this is that it also makes the crystal easier to scratch. That's always been an issue, but I can live with it. No, the real problem with this product is, was, and apparently ever shall be, the band. Now, it could be worse, it could be a resin band (like the old ones) that will crack and break within a couple of years, but no, this is a nylon and velcro wrap style which should be just dandy, but for three glitches: 1. it's too short 2. it's too narrow (gee whiz, Timex designers, it's an oversized watch, why not a matching oversized band?) and 3. it's still resin where it attaches to the actual watch. Now, I imagine it's probably less prone to breakage in how it's implemented, but if you should choose to replace it, I can see no obvious way of removing it short of cutting it off. Really?But these are minor complaints. I doubt it would be comfortable on anyone whose wrists are much bigger than my own, but replacement bands are everywhere, and this watch will keep time with style and it's brilliant at splits. Heck, it even functions admirably as a backup for my expensive stopwatches at our regular short track stock car events. For my money (and did I mention the price is wonderful?) the Ironman is still the best at what it does, and for what it can do.

Review Calibration: 3 stars means it works as advertised, nothing special during use, and no amazing features. Higher stars mean better-than-expected performance and features. This is 5 stars because it is my favorite work/hard-use watch. I have been wearing one for years, and like all Timex watches, it can take a beating. I have to replace it when the band's ears get so damaged that they won't hold the band on. This has more to do with the plastic's lifespan than with a design issue. I am hard on watches. This watch normally lasts ne 7-10 years between replacements.

I bought this watch in July of 2013. This acquisition was an exact replacement of my former Timex Triathlon that I used daily for sport and work. I'm lost without it. The large case helps me to see the numerals easily and the functions are easy to navigate once you get to know its basic functions. The velcro allows quick wrist mounting and disconnect and I can wash the band easily using a toothbrush and some soap. The watch and its operation is 5 stars. But the lack of a band replacement subtracts a star.**I replaced my former Triathlon for one glaring reason. The watch itself still operated flawlessly and took a great deal of punishment in stride. There is no exact replacement for this velcro band that I could find anywhere on the internet. The band wears out and eventually breaks apart within 2 years. Timex has not stated whether they sell a band replacement or not. There is no model or serial number for the band. I used the designation "WR100" found on the back of the case in an attempt to locate a replacement but the numerous depictions and array of pictures on eBay, Amazon or elsewhere, makes it almost impossible to compare each description, many of which are incorrect. Often, the description or picture doesn't match the actual product. The "T5K413" designation I found here, helped me to come close to the new band and I remember finding a rubber/plastic replacement. For my needs, only the velcro will do.SO I bought another watch because I couldn't find a replacement velcro band. The $32 price isn't an issue, it's the fact that I have to buy a new watch every 2 years since I use mine daily. Now the band on this blue watch (above) is again broken in the same spot as the previous band had broken - the plastic loop splits after the band begins to separate from use. I think Timex knows this and is cashing in.It is still a very good watch and I recommend its purchase. IF we could find an exact velcro replacement band, it would be a great buy!

Keeping in mind that I received this item yesterday (2/24/16), I absolutely love this watch. The reason I have so much confidence with this watch is because I've owned one other Timex similar to this one, and it served me extremely well and is still able to do so. First off, this watch is certainly aesthetically pleasing. The blue color around the face of the watch and outline in the band, goes really well with the black frame. It's just an overall nice looking watch. More importantly, the quality seems great. As I mentioned, I've owned a Timex expedition, which I've had for more than 2 years, and it's still working perfectly fine. The watch seems like it's put together very well and there's no loose or flimsy parts. One complaint that many people seem to have with Timex is the quality of their band. Unfortunately I'd have to agree, since the band on my other Timex that's still working like the first day I got it, cracked and broke and is only being held together by the nylon fabric on the other side of the band. You're not going to have that problem with this watch. It's a full nylon band with Velcro adjustment, for precise fitting. it feels extremely comfortable and you won't need to worry about the band cracking (although I'm sure there will be certain defects in a mass produced bunch). I will use this watch for work and running, and rarely plan on taking it off. Just to give you an idea, I also have a garmin gps watch that I love and obviously has more functions than this watch. However, the second I received this watch, I slapped it on and put my garmin to the side. This watch also looks amazing when you wear it. I'll update this feedback as needed, but I'm confident this watch will serve me for years to come, just as my other one has.

This is the 2nd time I've bought this watch from Amazon. Both times it has been for someone in my family to give me as a B-Day/Xmas Gift. The first watch really just needs a battery, but the crystal has some minor scratches and the band shows 3 years of wear and tear so a new watch sounded better than a new battery.This watch has just about all the needed features I want in digital watch and then some. It has has an easy to read display, multiple time-zones and 3 alarms with each alarm having its own sound. The sounds for the countdown timer and for an occasion mode reminder are also different and unique.Like with other Timex watches I have had, the watch kept almost perfect time, gaining less than 10 seconds per month. I do not believe I have ever had a Timex watch that has gained/loss more than 0.5 seconds per day.The primary feature I wish this watch had and doesn't is a "one-time" setting/option when setting an alarm OR a way to quickly turn-off that alarm off (such as hitting the stop button a 2nd time within so many seconds.) I once had a watch with "2nd push = alarm disabled" feature, and while it may not really have saved a lot of time it certainly was convenient and kept the watch from sounding at the same time every day until I took the time to turn off the alarm. :).As for the Velcro band, I like that it holds up better than the plastic bands that can crack and eventually break. But the fabric of the band, in addition to picking up bits of lint that need to be washed off from time to time, also develops a crease that makes adjusting the band more difficult, esp. as the crease becomes more pronounced.One final note, when the battery started to die the watch automatically disabled the light function. It wasn't until I set the timer (which flashes the light at countdown) that the final juice was drained from the battery and the display went blank. Good way to extend battery life, just not perfect.

I ordered this as I wanted a watch I could wear running, cycling, and everywhere in between. The features are really good- I love the large display which makes it very easy to read the time - handy when cycling into work. The chronograph works well - the buttons are large which makes it easy to function. I cannot fault the display or the actual functions on the watch itself.I would give this watch 5/5, but the Velcro strap is an annoyance. I wanted a watch I could wear cycling to work, in the shower and in the office. I can wear the watch for t the first two, but do not enjoy wearing the watch casually. The velcro strap seems to catch in absolutely everything, time and time again. Even when going for short walks, the watch seems to catch on my clothes.Deducting two stars because of the strap-unless people specifically want a Velcro strap, I would order another Timex watch.

Excellent! Keeps good time. The Velcro strap is comfortable and strong - won't go missing in the surf. Clear as crystal readability. This model has the 'old school' Timex Indigo rather than some of the more recent models that only light up the the actual digits. Can't go wrong..plus looks cool 😎. Perfect for sport, but could easily be used as a tactical watch🪖. Could easily any obstacle course and is lower in profile than most G-Shocks.
