Perfect mesh between digital and film
I've shot multiple medium and large format cameras and all of my DSLRs have been Nikon. This is my first 35mm since I was a teenager and needless to say I'm in love. I love (and prefer) to work with my Hasselblad but I found that sometimes I would miss some of the simplicities in digital photography. When I decided to look into a 35mm camera, I knew I wanted to go with Nikon because I'd be able to avoid getting new lenses and I just love their cameras anyway. The F6 is a wonderful compromise between DSLRs and film photography. The body is solid and comfortable to hold, and the settings are easy to find and change (especially since they are fairly similar to the DSLR bodies). Without looking at the manual, I was able to set the shutter, shooting mode, f/stop, etc. within seconds. I have no doubt I'll continue to work with both my Hasselblad and my DSLR, but I'm so thrilled to have this camera in my lineup now! It's the perfect mesh between both worlds! Nikon has outdone themselves once again!

Best film camera.
Camera is just the right combination of sturdiness and functionality. I only wish that color slide processing for Fujichrome films was here to stay.Personally, as someone who has been a photographer for over 55 years, I prefer the freedom and creative potential of fully manual operation instead of all this automation, and one can have this with a much simpler camera; since the price of fancy film cameras like this has come down to such incredibly low levels, however, one might just as well use the F6 -which also offers a manual mode-.

Stunned!
Absolutely amazing camera. Powerful and rugged. Perfect for studio or field. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an upgrade to their 35mm setup. Best 35mm I've used. Personally, I only use a few lenses, as I do fine arts photography with it, but all the nifty features like menus for settings are wonderful. I even love the little things like having the option to rewind the film and leave the leader out an inch. That makes it 100% easier to work with in the darkroom. I can just pull the film out without having to either fish for it with a tool or having to crack open the metal cassette. But the focusing is sharp and snappy fast, the flash sync in the studio is versatile, the button layouts are well thought out, and even the depth of field preview is well done. I just love everything about this camera. I keep the others around for what they're good at, but this is the best general purpose camera for my photo work. I love my Mamiya RZ67II, but if I could have a Nikon F6 equivalent in medium format, that would be a dream come true.

Feels good to hold
Exceeded my expectations. Feels good to hold; AF lenses work well with the F6; the light meter is spot on (pun not intended); has a number of features that are found on upscale DSLRs such as the D810; works with SB-800 speed lights. If you are interested in shooting film take this camera for a test ride. You won't be disappointed.

The quality is amazing. Slightly heavier than the modern DSLR cameras
Such a superb build. The quality is amazing. Slightly heavier than the modern DSLR cameras, however the functionality and feel of the camera is superb. Very happy with the camera, will have it for years to come.
