Well...... I installed the unit to my machine, then buttoned up the machine, hit the power, and noticed a severe leak coming from the between the two mated halves. So, I turned off the water supply, powered down the system, drained the system, removed the pump, tightened the 3 or 4 screws holding the two halves together - then reassembled, turned on the water supply, powered up the machine and BOOM, the ice machine worked FANTASTIC!!!! Ran the machine for at least 6 hours while monitoring and ice was harvesting like a popcorn machine. All is good. The $100 price for this pump verses the $800 price for OEM was a great move. Also, installation was hella-ez!!! Thanks Amazon.

A great price works fine change the capacitor, I didn’t and it burned out in just a couple of weeks. MY FAULT. I have 9 ice machines use the in all of them.

Yes you are saving money buying this over the oem pump that’s $602.00. Beware the pump I got leaks water from the seal. After installing the pump, 45 minutes to install then discover it leaks, I’m presented with 2 options.Option #1 remove the new pump, drive a hour back home to ship back the pump to warranty it, then to wait for a new pump to come. Then drive a hour back to the site and install it again, another 45 minutes and hope it works. All this time, the customer is down with no ice.Option 2. Leave the new pump that leaks in place, take the $160 hit on the part plus labor and walk away and loose the customer.I chose option 2..... it sucks, but it is what it is.So, yes it is cheaper and ur saving money...... I’ll never do it again and I’ll just pass the cost along to the customer. It’s not cheap, it’s sucks but that’s their fault for not buying a Manitowoc in the first place

Pump is very similar to my defective pump however the new pump has a run capacitor that “ must be installed” according to the instructions however there is no schematic or nothing to tell you how to connect the run capacitor.. the old by pump does not have a run capacitor. This is being used on a Hoshizaki ice maker. Hoshizaki wanted over $1000.00 for an oem pump when this replacement pump is about $150.00!

Pump replaced the OEM pump nicely, seems to work well. I have no clue what it's longevity will be, but it replaced a 10 year old OEM pump. I then rebuilt the OEM pump and have it as a spare, so this one will likely last forever! <grin> Only complaint is that the box it comes in is VERY thin and arrived crushed and mangled inside an Amazon box. Pump was not damaged but the box was unusable. This would only be an issue if I was reselling, or if the box was shipped without additional packing.
