NEW: replacement model works perfectly - OLD:Broke after 30 minutes of use by 200 lbs person
UPDATE 1/21/2019 - I have now used the replacement model for a couple weeks and did not have the same "deflating" issue with this new piston. If you receive a chair that slowly deflates, return it, as it is defective. Now for the review of the product:- Cushion is much thicker and comfier than competitor models.- The spring that controls how far the chair can lean forward is the correct stiffness even for someone who is 200+ pounds, it feels supportive but also allows you to "sit" into it when doing the standing desk lean.- The paddles and piston are easy to access and ambidextrous.- I am 6'2"+ and my standing desk height is about 2 inches too high when using the chair - this is to be expected as fully upright is not achievable in a chair. I found this to be acceptable.- Get a foot rest, it makes it so you can also use this chair in the same style as a drafting chair, and be high enough up to access your standing desk surface. Now that I have received and tested a replacement model since my first one was a dud, I am rating this chair 5/5 stars AS LONG as you do not receive a bad unit. Take the time to examine the chair out of the package and shake the cushion piece before assembling, if you hear any loose metal rattling, return it for a replacement.I am removing the video I posted of the first unit I received deflating, as I now believe it was just a problem with my unit due to a manufacturing error.OLD UPDATE: Living Essentials customer service is stating this was a defective model, and have sent me a replacement unit. This one did not have any metal pieces in the cushion piece when I shook it, and there was a cap on the piston button that wasn't on my original unit. This has me hopeful this product will work now. I am changing my review from a 1 star to a 3 star while I test the unit over the next few days and make sure no problems arise, since this is a great chair besides the issue of the piston deflating in my original unit. If all holds up over the next few days and the issue is not present in this new unit, I will be updating this review to 5 stars as this chair has a great price to performance ratio.OLD REVIEW BEFORE REPLACEMENT UNIT SENT:The Wobble Stool Chair by LIVING ESSENTIALS broke within 30 minutes of normal use. I'm 200 lbs, and used the chair in a half standing position for about 30 minutes before the piston just started deflating without either of the side buttons being pressed. I've made sure the side button were not stuck in place, and they still function to raise the seat with the piston after it has deflated. Upon arrival the box was in perfect condition and nothing appeared damaged on the exterior of any of the pieces . There was some metal shavings inside the hollow cavity of the seat that I was able to shake loose, but that did not seem to interfere with any of the mechanisms. This may have been indicative that I received a bad unit from the manufacturer, but I am suspicious that LIVING ESSENTIALS is vastly overstating the weight limit of this chair with their claim of "up to 300 lbs" in the item description. I have attached a video of me demonstrating the issue I am having with the chair and to validate my claims.Item information for the product I received:Wobble Stool Chair by LIVING ESSENTIALS - (Black) B07RM2N9L4

Easy and comfy. The right height to sit-lean at 6'1" with height to spare.
The stool looks nice, feels comfy, and is the right height for me (I'm 6'1").I just got mine today and put it together very easily. The 4 parts fit together well (seat, base, piston, and a plastic that attaches under the seat to cover the piston) and the instructions are clear. After I use it a few weeks I'll be able to rate the comfort under all day use, but so far so good.I shopped through several versions and this one seemed to be the best price with enough height for me.I've never used a wobble stool before so I don't have perspective on other models, so I was a little worried it might be unstable. I'm glad to find that this one is sturdy enough that I can sit with feet up and stay steady, and flexible enough to shift around without moving the base.See pics for high and low settings. Desk height is 28.5" at low setting and 46.5" at standing height. My favorite stool height so far is about 80% raised on the stool and 40" desk height. This let's my feet rest flat on the floor without my legs pressing on the rim of the stool. If I want to stand higher, I either have to perch on the front of the stool, or I'd need one with more of a bike saddle shape. But I like the option to sit lower or sit high with my feet up on a box.

Great but uncomfortable
Honest review: I enjoyed everything about this chair from height, sturdiness, sleek design, and it came it clutch for standing and leaning against while working.Major con for me was the comfort level of the seat itself. My tailbone is hurting from a week of on and off use. I constantly have to adjust the chair for comfort reasons. Cushion design needs to be upgraded so the tail bone isn’t riding/leaning against the cushion itself. (Just a thought)

Surprisingly pleased.
when unpacking the chair, ensure the seat has the prongs and they are not broken. Then insert chair seat, careful into the base. My concern with the chair is these prongs are a bit flimsy so I did secure my seat to the base with some black duct tape. Assembly was easy and straightforward. The stool itself- I’m plus size and find the seat wide enough and surprisingly comfortable. My need is a stool that works on carpet and can be used for a standing desk while allowing me the flexibility to lean/rest for about 20 -30 minutes per hour- this stool meets that need. In fact, there are times I need to sit and have done so as long as 2 hours and have remained comfortable. The seat can be raised by easily pushing a button and goes quite high so be mindful of the measurements in evaluating your needs. The wobble is slight- I was concerned about too much wobble but to me- it feels subtle and safe- I don’t fear falling. The base is wide and feels secure. The seat swivels and if need be, the stool can be picked up by the handle on the seat and easily moves out of the way.In conclusion, if you need a stool that allows for standing with periodic sitting and you like the idea of resting/leaning- this might work. For those of us on the plus size- I’m not sure this will last years but I do think it appears it will last to get my $100 worth.I gave 4 stars because I thing for a product advertised as accommodating the weight limit it does- the plastic prongs on the seat- should be made of a thicker plastic.
