Cast iron pan
Good pants. But pan is bumpy not smooth on the in side. Good weight.

Great quality cast iron
I’m impressed with the quality of this skillet. The pre‑seasoning is good right out of the box, and it only gets better with use. It distributes heat evenly and holds temperature well, making it perfect for searing, frying, and baking. The size is generous without being too heavy to handle. Great addition to my kitchen.

Great Everyday Skillet with a Few Quirks
Great Everyday Skillet with a Few Quirks I’ve been cooking with this 12-inch Utopia cast iron skillet for several weeks now, and it’s become one of my go-to pans for everyday meals. It comes pre-seasoned, which made it ready to use out of the box. I gave it a quick rinse, dried it thoroughly, added a light oil rub, and it was good to go. The surface has a decent non-stick quality once warmed up, and it holds heat beautifully for searing steaks, sautéing vegetables, or even baking cornbread. What I really like is its size—large enough to handle family-style portions, but not so huge that it feels like a burden to store. The weight is substantial (as all cast iron is), but I can manage it comfortably with the long handle plus the helper grip on the opposite side. It transitions easily from stovetop to oven, and it feels right at home on a gas flame or in the oven for finishing dishes. That said, there are a few things to keep in mind. It does take some maintenance—washing by hand, drying right away, and re-oiling to keep the seasoning intact. Skip the soap and don’t soak it, or you’ll risk rust. The edges are slightly rougher than higher-end cast iron pans I own, so eggs or delicate fish can stick if I’m not careful. Also, it takes a little longer to heat evenly across the entire pan, so preheating is key. Bottom line: A reliable, budget-friendly cast iron skillet that’s versatile enough for stovetop, oven, and grill use. It may not be as smooth or refined as pricier brands, but with proper care, it does the job well and should last for years.

Favorite cast iron pan after giving it a second chance
At first, I did not like this pan. I am used to Lodge, and this one looked a bit off to me, almost like it had rust, so I returned it. Amazon told me to keep it, so I decided to give it another try, and I am really glad I did. After properly seasoning it again with oil, it completely changed. Now it is one of my favorites in the kitchen. Nothing sticks, and it just keeps getting better with use. I take care of it following the instructions, and it performs really well. I like it so much I already bought more. I use it for everything, especially eggs, and it works perfectly. Pros: Excellent performance once properly seasoned Nothing sticks after use builds up Very versatile for everyday cooking Becomes better over time Great value Cons: Needs extra seasoning at the beginning First impression may not be great

Season your pan right and it will treat you right. I’ve posted some tips here for you.
So I read all the reviews well not all but you get the point , I read the 5 stars and then as always I go to the 1-3 stars because I want to see what the bad things are. Obviously we’re all here because it does have a lot of reviews and the price is pretty much unbeatable. But what do you get for that price ? Well , let me help ease some people’s minds that might be reading those bad reviews . Especially the one where it shows the eggs stuck … While she claimed it was the worse pan ever there was just a few things that your supposed to do and not do. Continue reading.. Well first and foremost even though the pans are pre seasoned they are done so in the factory typically with a very very thin layer and can be wiped off during the packaging process . So you always want to season your cast iron skillet or pan. ALWAYS . You can’t use just anything , the most economical and best method is canola oil. It has a high smoke point, you can use vegetable oil but it’s not recommended only because different brands use a little different amounts of ingredients and it’s not always the same between brands. Go with the canola it’s a few dollars and always the same . Wipe the pan first with paper towels, don’t get it wet use dry paper towels just to get anything from the factory that may be on there . Put a little bit in the middle of the pan , no bigger than a dime . Wipe it all over the pan with paper towels inside , outside the handle every square inch. You want to make sure there’s not too much oil, even if you wipe it until you think it’s all gone you’ll still have a microscopic layer on there . Preheat your oven to 405 degrees , it has to hit at least 400 for the canola to lock in. So since some ovens run a tad hot or a tad cooler 405-415 is the sweet spot. I choose to go with the lower end and do 1 hour and 15 min, if you want to do 415 you can do an hour. What you’re trying to do is have the oil hit a minimum of 400 degrees for 1 hour. This will lock it into the microscopic holes in the pan. You’ll also see a review here that says they choose 500, I would not recommend this, as you’ can cause it to gum up and smoke . The science says 400 for 1 hour you’re just adjusting the temp or the time a little higher to make sure it reaches that level since not all ovens are 100% accurate . Also, make sure you have a cake pan or aluminum foil and put the pan in upside down. Do not forget to oil the handle and bottom of pan, your sealing the pours so it doesn’t rust and becomes non stick . Let it cool off in the oven , this is going to take some real time , the pan will hold heat for a long time . DO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT take it out and put it in cool water to try and cool it off you can ruin your pan completely and the seasoning . Also, and this is also for the lady that cooked the eggs and left that review that might have you second guessing yourself, you do not want to cook eggs or fish in an NEW iron skillet. You want to cook something with some grease , steaks, hamburger, bacon etc THE EGGS WILL ALMOST ALWAYS STICK WHEN ITS NEW. . Never let your iron pan air dry if you do end up washing it, and avoiding soap is a myth well not really, but soaps no longer have lye in it so soap is safe to use these days. If your pan is wet from washing , put it on the stove on low or medium (I do 3 on an electric) and let it sit for 3 minutes this will force any water out of the pours and keep it from rusting . Then let it sit on the stove and cool down. Hope this helps and enjoy your pan.
