I felt that this event was,at best,average,as the only decent matches were the Tag Team Tumoil ,the 5-aside Team Hogan vs Team Flair and the AJ Styles vs Humberto Castillo matches.I felt that the main event, Seth Rollins vs The Fiend, was too long and a bit repetitive and the remaining matches were quite poor.

This DVD contains the full 2019 Crown Jewel event, headlined by Seth Rollins defending the WWE Universal Championship against 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt, spread over two discs. It's one of WWE's unfortunate Saudi Arabia shows, but it had an intriguing card anyway. It also contains the pre-show match as a bonus feature.20-Man Battle Royal - This comes from the pre-show, and would find a challenger for the United States Championship for a match that would take place on the main show. It was what it was, a Battle Royal. Nothing special about it but nothing standing out as especially bad either. There was some brief 24/7 Championship stuff but otherwise nothing was particularly memorable. Harmless overall.Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez - The opening match of the show was for Lesnar's WWE Championship and was Cain's WWE debut. It was a very short match and not at all what I was expecting from this. It's too short and anti climactic to be good but there was something about it that made it interesting to watch anyway. They went for a more MMA style which made sense considering who was involved and it had a clean finish. An interesting start to the show, I didn't dislike it.Gallows and Anderson vs. The Viking Raiders vs. The New Day vs. The Revival vs. The B-Team vs. Heavy Machinery vs. Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler vs. Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder vs. Lucha House Party - This was a Tag Team Turmoil match for the Tag Team World Cup Trophy. Two teams would fight and the winner would stay on for the next team. It was an entertaining enough match, some combinations were more exciting than others but overall it was good. Some teams were given more time than you might expect in a match with this many teams, but not in a bad way. There was nothing especially memorable here but it was an enjoyable match.Cesaro vs. Mansoor - This was Mansoor's singles debut after winning a battle royal at the previous Saudi show. It was a really good, competitive match. I knew Cesaro would be great but Mansoor did a very good job too. There were plenty of reversals and some good near-falls and all the action was fast paced and entertaining. They got a good amount of time and a strong, decisive finish. A very good match and a breakout performance by Mansoor.Braun Strowman vs. Tyson Fury - Fury was making his debut here in this celebrity match. It wasn't exactly a good match or anything, Tyson had limited experience and wasn't going to really deliver anything too impressive here. The match did have an intrigue into it and I was never bored because of that, wanting to see where they went with it. The finish was disappointing as we didn't get a satisfying result. Not a good match but I still enjoyed watching it.AJ Styles vs. Humberto Carrillo - This was for the United States Championship. It was a good back and forth match. Aj controlled a lot of the action, trying to wear down Carrello but never hurting the pace of the match. It went for a good amount of time and there were plenty of reversals and they had some good drama with AJ's calf crusher as it built to a strong and satisfying finish.Natalya vs, Lacey Evans - This was the first ever women's match to take place in Saudi Arabia. They were forced to wear degrading looking special outfits in order to do it but I suppose it's a step forward. The match itself was alright, there was nothing wrong with it, it was just a bit slow, but there was nothing too memorable about the action either. It was an enjoyable match but not quite good enough to distract from the situation they were in.Team Hogan(Roman Reigns, Rusev, Ricochet, Chad Gable and Mustafa Ali) vs. Team Flair(Randy Orton, King Corbin, Bobby Lashley, Shinsuke Nakamura and Drew McIntyre) - Nothing was really on the line here and I don't care about Hogan vs. Flair in 2019, but the competitors involved still delivered a fun match. The action was all good, with everyone getting a chance to do their thing. It lasted a decent amount of time and had some good near-falls and reversals throughout as it built to a clean finish. One of the more enjoyable matches of the night.Seth Rollins vs. 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt - This was the main event of the night and was a Falls Count Anywhere match for the Universal Championship. After Hell in a Cell they were heavily advertising that there would be a winner. Unfortunately the red lighting which we had at Hell in a Cell was still a thing so it was a bit hard to see what was going on at times. At the time I wasn't sure about this one because I felt Fiend's no selling of curb stomps were damaging to Seth Rollins, but watching it back now, knowing that Seth is doing fine, I can just enjoy the silliness. It was an entertaining brawl where both men took a load of damage and Fiend being unstoppable built the drama of Rollins trying to stop really well. Not necessarily a great match but a fun one that I enjoyed watching.These Saudi Arabia shows are fairly unfortunate events that really should not be happening, however they actually put on a pretty interesting show here. It was definitely one of their better shows from that country, The Greatest Royal Rumble being the only other one worth watching. There were some good fun matches in the main event, the ten man tag, AJ/Carrello and Mansoor/Cesaro, along with some intriguing matches involving Cain Velasquez and Tyson Fury that added some interest in the show. So overall a fun show, not the best of the year but not the worst either.
