I got a headache - my dog had a seizure
I sprayed this on my dog's day bed last night before we retired to the bedroom ( my dog was outside while I sprayed the daybed) . I normally have low blood pressure but I experience a rapid pulse and pounding headache and had to take a sleep aid and pain reliever to get to sleep. This morning my dog went over to sniff the daybed, snuffled and sniffed for a while but would not Lay on it, he walked away off to a corner and within a minute later he foamed at the mouth, and went into a full blown seizure. When I was on the floor comforting him the scent of the vetriScience spray on his daybed wafted my way and I realized it was the cause of my headache/pulse issues and now this giant (Great Pyrenees mix) Dog's seizure. After he came to, I got the bottle down and read the fine print on the spray bottle, look hard, there is is a find print warning that all should read and heed about spraying this and inhaling the vapors before using this on your precious pet ( and yourself administering it). It took a long hot soak and scrub in the tub in dawn detergent to get the essential oils smell to release out of my dog's daybed fabric, I can't imagine what this would do to a small dog or a cat. Buyer beware!!!- I'll pour the remainder out along my fence line for Sasquatch repellant.

Dog Disapproves
I work at a vet and the doctor I work for recommends this in addition to other preventatives. We were going up to our cabin in the middle of the woods and I wanted her to be extra protected. She is usually a very tolerant dog but she did not like getting sprayed or the smell. AND it didn't even work that well!!! We would go on walks on the trail and she was swarmed with biting flies, regular flies, other bugs with wings, I felt so bad. I returned it. It does smell strongly, although not unpleasant (given all of the ingredients are basically spicy oil). She did not like it and it didn't seem to do anything.

The smell is awful :-(
I tossed in in the trash. The smell was beyond atrocious. I couldn't BEAR to spritz my fluffy little white Maltese with it. I sprayed her with white vinegar instead. This stuff smells like a ham with way too many cloves in it that burnt because everyone got drunk on Christmas and left the oven going too long.SORRY! But that does explain why bugs don't like it.

It does help but use just a little
This product has a strong cinnamon smell, but I don't find it offensive. My dog doesn't like to be sprayed with anything, so I spritz some on a paper towel and rub him down with it. My vet recommended it to prevent bites from grass-dwelling insects that were causing my dog to lick and nip at his legs. It has definitely helped. My vet also says she uses this on herself to prevent biting flies. I see no ingredient that would be harmful to dogs or people, but I would avoid spraying large amounts in the dog's bed or whatever just because of the strong odor.

An okay item.
I must say that I haven't noticed a huge difference using this product along with the seresto collar. I thought for sure it was going to be a lifesaver. My dog doesn't go into the woods. We walk along the road and she picks up ticks there, obviously. Up until this year, the seresto collar was enough to combat the ticks and I was lucky if I found one on her the entire season. This year, I've lost count already. I was hoping with this spray I would get that count down, and who knows, maybe it is helping and I could have an even worse problem. I just was hoping it'd make a noticeable difference. It does however seem to keep mosquitos away from her and other bugs the first day I put the spray on her, which is awesome.

Works really well keeping ticks at bay.
I have a big fluffy Goldendoodle who reacts to Nexguard so she summers in her Seresto. We had some trouble in the spring and after hikes, Would always find deer ticks on her. The vet recommended this spray (they sell it in the office but it’s more expensive). Haven’t found a single tick on her since we started using it. I’m quite pleased because I detest ticks and have an irrational fear of them in the house. So far so good!

Excellent Product
My Vet uses this spray and recommended I try it. My poor dachshund was getting red velts under his soft underbelly. Flies bite him at our campground. The first time I tried it I was thrilled he received no bites. He hasn’t gotten one mark since I started using it! It has a mild scent of cinnamon. It does not transfer to your clothing or blankets.

Highly recommend
This product works great! I was tentative because other reviews said it smelled really bad of cinnamon but it really wasn’t that bad. Worked amazing to keep bugs away from my dog. We had really bad mosquitoes this fall and they wouldn’t come near my pup. I highly recommend this.
