Gaiam Yoga Blocks

Excellent Yoga Block, slightly larger than usual ones, but very substantial and strong. Would recommend. Worth the extra money. Good colour.

Purchased these to practice some arm strengthening poses, only received and tried them out today and am so pleased I added them to my kit, found them ideal for what I bought them for, they can be used horizontally, vertically or flat. I also tried them in a couple of poses I didn't feel properly aligned in (but had persisted with anyway!) i.e. half moon balance and reverse triangle which has resulted in a much better posture being attained and maintained without worrying about over-extending and risking injury, Im pretty confident that with continued use and by sensibly working through the 3 heights they can be used in I will maximise my confidence and ability to execute the moves with proper form. If I'd had the sense to invest in blocks earlier in my practice I'm now thinking I probably would have progressed a lot quicker and more effectively and would strongly recommend them to anybody wishing to practice yoga with patience and mindfulness rather than just diving in as I have a tendency to do and did!!! I think I have made a wise investment.

Pretty blocks. Matching rest of my yoga kit. Quite hard, not super hard though.

I bought 2 of these blocks for my yoga practice at home as liked the ones provided by teacher during practice, but unfortunately I didn't think to measure the ones I had been using and these turned out to be bigger. So you need a wider hand grip when its placed tall way up but has better stability when on its bottom side. Just as cushioned as the smaller ones and no complaints re the actually block, but make sure you want this bigger size before ordering.

the title says it all. If your hands get sweaty, it might squeak! but it's not even enough to get a 4 stars instead of a 5!

Pour avoir essayer plusieurs types de briques (lièges, et autres encore plus durs lors de ma pratique du yoga) dans des studios, je recommande ce model de chez GAIAM, très agréable pour le poignet, contrairement aux autres. Du coupj'en ai pris deux et offerts deux, qui font le bonheur de leur proprio. A titre d'info, ce modèle est légerement plus volumineux que les modèles courant, qui dans mon cas est un plus certain.

I thought I could sit on it

I purchased this yoga block for my wife and she now has two of them, I have observed their usage a few times, so I can speak from a speculative and unbiased opinion. First off, I must say that the quality of the block is second to none. It has six sides as most blocks do and the corners are beveled adding comfort to griping and holding the block when picking it up and putting it away. Most rectangular blocks have sharp or hard corners making it difficult to pick up from the bottom. Being that this weighs only 1.5 U.S pounds, I must say I don't mind picking up two of them to put them away either. The color, Apple Green as is the case with the one I purchased maybe beguiled me at first as I thought it would have been so green it was edible and produced from apple compost. It is not edible, however, it is made from foam which would also serve a function as a life preserver in most fluids. That is until the human race fills the ocean with plastic and foam, at that point one would need to seek a lower density flotation device than this block to achieve sustained buoyancy. Overall I give it 5 stars because a block with a yoga sounding name, that is an acronym for other some other words that also sound of interest to those who enjoy yoga, and it is a block of foam, quite difficult to foul up that product and it didn't require much packaging. Although it would be amusing to order a block and get a leg roller instead, I ordered a block, received a block, and the block does stand on all 6 sides, which does show it has a predictable center of gravity and doesn't roll or float away.
