A Handful or Two of Good Ideas
This book was recommended in another book on facilitation. I did find several good ideas, and have since used some of those with good results. Like another reviewer here, I found the comments about what not to do and mistakes to avoid helpful. But I had hoped for more. Like other reviews I've read elsewhere, I found the 21 list framework a bit gimmicky and distracting. Overall, it was worth the price, though better books may be out there (but I still haven't found what I'm looking for ... at least in newer books). I have found a few older books, like "How to Make Meetings Work" and "Joining Together" just as helpful.

The best of its kind.
An excellent handbook for anyone who wants to help people get involved and empowered.

Excellent book!
This books is written by an experienced practitioner. I found some useful ideas that I will use in my own workshops. I have been facilitating full time for about 15 years. Well written and easy to digest!

Too old for today
good ideas but this book is a little bit too old . Desccribes how to use a slide projector , nothing about PP presentation .Not good as a "cook book" for medical schools e.gSome good ideas ( very basic ) as how to prepare yourselfGood humor!

Some interesting ideas
I bought this book having been asked to run a workshop for around 20 people at senior management level, based in Eastern Europe. It certainly provided some interesting ideas that were clearly based on practical experience in a non-European setting (there are many references to possible cultural landmines). The material is pretty densely packed and I found it best to dip into the book rather than trying to read it cover to cover. I am not sure that I shall be able to use many of the ideas in the specific workshop I am to run but some can certainly be adapted. Another reviewer mentions the poor graphics. I would go further. The overall design of the book could in my view use a complete makeover: page layout is cramped and the typeface too small for easy reading - another reason to dip rather than read in full.

Careful all examples from Author's Rural development workshops
This book isn't what I expected out of a book that claims it is for any Trainer. All the examples are specifically from the Authors Rural development work. The description of this book on the Amazon site conveniently leaves the Author's experience out.I couldn't relate anything to take to my organization training class. The book I received the cover teal color block is blank and whiteWaste of money!
