Heavy Duty
Simply put, it works! Their blades aren't the best I've used, but hey, there can only be one best. Price to quality ratio is great.

Difficult to make a smooth looking surface
The removable carbide scraping element has sharp corners making it difficult to scrape large surfaces without leaving ridges. An earlier Hyde model had corners that blended into a small curve to avoid this problem. The earlier model worked well for over 25 years until it was stolen, if you see one at a yard sale, buy it.

Superior scraper
I’ve done a lot of exterior paint work in the past year. This device is my go-to scraper. Durable. Effective. One can put a lot of force into it which dramatically speeds up the scraping process.

Works for Paint, and Stubborn Old Gaskets
I recently acquired an old Harley Davidson engine that I'll be rebuilding. I bought this carbide scraper to use for removing old gasket material off of their surfaces. Although the specific purpose of this scraper is to remove paint, it works excellently on gaskets as well. The handle is a rubbery material that is gripped easily, and the shaft is made of some type of metal. The carbide scraping blade is removable with a #2 philips screwdriver. Even when used to scrape metal surfaces, there is still no visible sign of wear on the blade.5 stars for having no reason for less stars.

2" width is wide enough to easily maintain level contact
Blade was very sharp. 2" width is wide enough to easily maintain level contact. Handle shape allows one to adjust contact angle without scraping knuckles.
