Westek 6009B 100W Full Range Lamp Socket Manual White Dimmer

Bought a couple of these to use for an entryway light, that is left on almost 24-7. By simply dimming an incandescent bulb by 8%, the lifespan is doubled. Dim it by 25% or more, and it will take years to burn out.For me... this works great for what I need it for. And is much easier than installing dimmer switches. For those that are having trouble, please understand, this is designed for HALOGEN and INCANDESCENT. LED Bulbs are electronic diodes and do not typically respond well to dimmers.

I got this to work with LED light bulbs. But three different kinds of LED bulbs would not illuminate at all with this device.

It works and can dim bulbs by putting the adapter between socket and bulb. The knob is not that smooth though but works fine.

It works fine with LED dimmable bulbs. The only bummer is that it is hard to turn the knob which consequently makes it jerk and not adjust smoothly. Easy to install.

Knob turns a bit roughly but works flawlessly with my Feit LED bulb.Would've been 5 stars if knob turned smoothly throughout its travel.Addendum: Bought 3 more, all working just fine.Make it 5 stars. Can't beat 'em at this priceGood value at this price pointAm satisfied and would recommend.

I bought this to use with DIMMABLE LEDs, which need a TRIAC-based dimmer.BUT MANUFACTURER’s “Westek 6009B” package says "Use incandescent bulbs only" (which probably means it’s a RHEOSTAT-based dimmer, and NOT a TRIAC-based dimmer).Consequently, I returned package to seller.

They are not smooth to dim and require a lot of effort. Do not work very well. Not smooth in dimming

This manual dimmer for light socket allowed me to convert an old lamp so I can adjust the lighting soft or bright. it's perfect for the master bedroom .when I want to read I turn it all the way up. when I just want to relax and watch tv I turn it down to very low. It's so much handier than a 3 way switch because I can set it high or low and anywhere in between.
