Alpine Corporation Traditional Pond Vacuum with Adjustable Telescopic Handle and 2 Brush Heads

I like these vacs. The pass leaves and debris pretty well and work for most bottom pond issues. This is the second unit I have owned. The first lasted 3 years. The second 6 months. It seems the circuit board in the receiver went bad. We put new batteries in the fob and checked power going into the circuit board. No matter how we push that button power will not come out of the receiver. We reached out to Alpine a few days ago through the website but have yet to hear back. I hope they can send a new board so this does not become more plastic trash. Fingers crossed

This pond vacuum is replacing a hose powered one I've had about 5 years that just isn't working well. When this arrived, the box was barely holding together. The Styrofoam inside was a little broken and there were little pieces all over and inside that I had to clean out. Putting it together wasn't too bad until I had to connect the hose and then it was difficult to spin it onto the vacuum since the hose is so long and bulky. The vacuum itself is pretty heavy and the whole bottom part has to be submerged, so if you have a shallow pond it won't work for you. The hose also has to be pretty straight for the drainage, but at times the flow was really strong. It lost suction a few times, but I found turning it off and pulling out of the water would help. It did get clogged at the end of my cleaning, but it passed a bunch of smaller leaves with no problem. It worked really fast and my pond has been struggling with muck for a while, so I'm glad to have something that can get a lot of it out quickly. I think the wet vacuum type might be a better option for shallow ponds, but this doesn't have to cycle on and off, so that's a plus.

I received the vacuum and there was a slight issue with it and I contacted Alpine and they corrected the issue in a very favorable time. I was so impressed with the customer service I received, that I purchased a pump from them also!!

Great concept, needs improvement. The suction is perfect for cleaning, problem is it clogs easily with leaves. I spent more time taking it apart to clean than actually vacuuming. The other problem I had was unless you're using it in a near vertical position, the discharge nozzle hits the bottom of the pond before the vacuum nozzle, I was afraid it would damage my liner. I ended up returning after a couple tries with the same results. If you have a smaller pond without any leaves, this should work well...

Does a great job on the bottom of my pond. I also use it to clean out the skimmer.

The product has great suction but has some drawbacks. The on/off switch requires pressing two buttons to turn both on and off. Sometimes you have to press the buttons three or four times before it works. Also, the hose was folded at sharp angles when it was packaged resulting in the hose being permanently damaged. I'm going to have to replace the hose. Lastly, when the vacuum and hose is full of water, it is heavy and difficult to move around in the pond. However, it is better than trying to use a shop vacuum or draining the pond to clean.
