Great value for a better candle.
This was a great deal for the price. I know price can sometime move a bit up and down on here but I caught a low (I think) of six bucks. Which for a candle of this size is a good deal PLUS it has 3 wicks so it burns EVENLY as opposed to burning an ever narrowing hole right down the center of the candle, burning evenly reduces wax wastage and gives you a more effective product . Also they have a great “throw” the scent really gets out there and it does help with the mosquitoes. It’s not a magic bullet but hey they look nice, put off a good amount of light and are more effective than other citronella candles so they are a win for me. We use them for camping and on our deck. Don’t like the way they look? Spray paint them whatever color or finish you’d like the containers take spray paint amazingly well. Just cover the wax.

These Work!
Being in Florida during Summer through months of daily rain with a balcony facing a small close lake, it would have been impossible to sit outside for even 5 minutes close to sunset and on. These mosquitoes are very resilient! The zapping torches didn’t work, high-frequency noises were a joke, sitting in front of a huge fan blowing full strength didn’t work, essential oils didn’t do much… but then I purchased these, lit them up and let them overflow the area with their scent for a little while —when wind favored this, of course— and I was finally able to enjoy a glass of wine and relax on the balcony. Although, there were some evenings that it failed because the wind didn’t allow for the scent to be strong enough to keep the mosquitoes away, I am grateful for the evenings I got to enjoy outside because of these. Pros: -Each last at least 30 hours. -Their scent is strong enough to repel mosquitoes, yet it was pleasant even a foot away. -Work better than the zapping torches, that are more effective for moths and other insects. -Less expensive than other options that failed. Cons: -Effectiveness varies depending on wind conditions. -Probably useless in completely open areas were the air doesn’t linger.

Good for camping
I recently purchased the Repel Citronella Triple Wick Candle, 20-Ounce, Pack of 1, 1 pack, One Color and I'm so glad I did! This candle is amazing! It has a wonderful citrus scent that smells great and really helps to keep the bugs away. The triple wicks provide a great, even burn that lasts for hours. I'm so glad I found this candle as it's perfect for outdoor entertaining. Highly recommend!

Works Well
We have treacherous and absolutely DISRESPECTFUL mosquitos in South Carolina...especially within 100 miles of the coast. They bite viciously, and leave quarter-sized knots under your skin. This candle works well. It keeps flies (also an issue) and mosquitos at bay and perfuses citronella aroma in the space pretty well. I use it on the patio in a wooded area and it works fine. On particularly bad pest-infested days, I burn this candle plus Palo Santo wood, Juniper/Cedar, and White Sage. I smoke 'em out. Works better than electronic bug zapper lamps. Not a bugger in sight. 😉

Not effective enough to repurchase.
We have so many mosquitoes at our marina that I knew I had to do more than just use natural bug repellent. I bought a couple of these candles (and some others as well to see which were best) and used them for two nights in a row. The scent is citronella with no apologies. I hate it but that's what does the job. If we stayed very near to the candles, we had less bugs around us. But we had to be almost on top of them. They don't have a large scent throw area and they also burn out and we have to relight them. Only two nights and the candles are about 2/3 gone. I will not buy any more of these. They DO help a little but not enough to spend the money on them. There are others that have more scent throw and are much longer burning.

IT WORKS!
Finally something that actually works at repelling mosquitoes! And these little jerks love me. Considering it was pouring down for quite sometime, I have small puddles of water pooling in my yard & I got a little sweaty since it’s been such a humid day. All of these factors are known to attract mosquitoes. I don’t like using bug sprays because it makes me feel sticky & how can you enjoy the day feeling like this? I put one at my feet & didn’t cut the wicks too short which to me makes the candle more effective. To those complaining about the strong smell, HELLO what do you expect? It’s made with Citronella oil which is what helps at repelling those suckers (pun intended). The candle also burns evenly. I will definitely be buting more.

Worked While Surrounded By Swarms of Mosquitos
Tested this after a rain while doing some work on my wooded lot in South Florida where there were a lot of mosquitos out and swarming me. Having not tried citronella candles before, I wasn't sure it would do anything, but the mosquitos have been bad lately so I figured if it might help, it was worth trying. I definitely believe it helped significantly. I only had one with me, and really needed 3 for the area I was working in, but noticing how many mosquitos were around me when I didn't have the candle on vs when it was, no contest, the candle reduced them. There were still some around, but I wasn't getting bitten. Not sure how much of not being bitten was due to the candle as I did have some natural repellent on. I would say when in doubt, use more candles not less but don't expect this or anything to be 100% effective but my experience is there was a substantial reduction.

Repel Insect Repellent Citronella Candle
Best mosquito repellent ever. I can sit inside my house and not get eaten alive every time we have a hard rain. Those little buzzing buggers are bad to sneak into the house when a door gets open. I light up and they leave me alone.
