Works well
It was almost as expected, the previous syrup dispenser we had had a longer pour spout before the seven year old destroyed it. This one with s short pour spout dribbles a bit mor syrup down the front but functions acceptablely and didn't break the bank.

Arrived broken
Nice feeling jar, good size. Top works good. However about 1.5” of the rim has glass broken off. The glass pieces were in the bottom of the jar. The box was in good shape but the jar wasn’t packaged well enough. There was room for it to move around in the box, even with the wrapping around it. Returning it.

Very nice syrup dispenser ***Update: use caution when cleaning***
Update2: I have used the second for months now, it had held up well. I have even dropped it from the top shelf and it did not break. So I'm very happy with it.Update1: use caution when cleaning a stuck lid. Refilled twice with no problems, but third time the lid was glued shut from the syrup. I put it in hot water and then tried to unscrew, and like another reviewer stated, the top sheared apart and I cut my hand. The only reason I still leave 3 stars is that I really like this item and I feel that I may have shocked the glass by using really hot water when it was just out of the fridge. I have another one to replace it, I'll keep you posted.***Original review***First feel:-The glass and lid feel heavy in the hand in a nice way.-The spring back mechanism is strong (which is good to me, but may be a concern for some with weak hands)-The bulb shape gives it a wider footprint in the fridge but at the same time lowers the center of gravity making it less tippy.-Use:-The white gasket prevents leaks from the glass/metal interface.-When you stop the flow mid stream during pouring (which you are supposed to do) there will always be a small drop at the mouth. You will have to wipe that drop before putting back in the fridge.People have complained that the flow for honey is very slow. I am currently using it for pure maple syrup kept in the fridge and I can say that for this purpose the flow is very fast.

FINALLY I FOUND WHAT I NEEDED!
I have been buying honey and maple syrup in bulk for quite sometime from local farms. I have been trying to find a dispenser for honey that didnt require me to dip a knife or spoon into it. Honey will keep forever unless you contaminate it with foreign matter (especially matter that has water in it). I tried a bamboo dipper in a glass jar which i really liked a lot but was frustrated with how patient I had to be to get the honey off the dripper without actually touching the dipper on the toast or side of a cup or anything. I am very careful not to contaminate my honey. I wanted something that would still be relatively utensil free, glass, but give me a bit added speed with honey which is already slow by nature.I was hesitant to buy this product because of all the negative reviews about leaking. I use this on a daily basis and this hasnt leaked on me one time using either the honey or the maple syrup. My maple syrup comes in one gallon glass jars which is a bit bulky to add to the table at breakfast time so I wanted a smaller dispenser. So now I can bring the honey in one jar and the maple syrup in the other jar.The major trick to these is to hand tighten the lid down to a firm fit without over cranking. And the second trick to prevent dripping down the side of it, is to cut the pouring with the lever before you raise back up vertically. If you cut the pour with the lever it wont get on the side of the jar. If you just lift it back up while pouring it will dribble down the side of the jar.

Perfect for sugar
This is the best sugar dispenser that I have ever had! Thick sturdy glass and a metal top with a strong spring. They also include a rubber gasket to prevent leakage of the contents. I have had plastic ones that just fall apart. I love this one!

Good quality
Good quality and very solid but not too heavy.

Use as a dish washing soap dispenser
Too many of the standard soap dispensers stop working for a variety of reasons. As this syrup dispenser has lasted for years, I figured it would also work for dispensing soap. Yes, it does!!!

Great to dispense home made vanilla flavoring!
I love having this, my husband likes making "Italian cream soda" and was buying the $6 Torrani vanilla coffee flavors, and going through them too quickly for my liking. 8 decided I can easily make vanilla flavoring, and use this to store and dispense the flavor. I do 1 cup sugar, 1 tbsp brown sugar, and 1 tbsp real vanilla. Boil the sugar and water to dissolve, cool it for a while and add the vanilla. Tastes great and is far cheaper for our purpose! Also, if you haven't had Italian cream soda, I recommend. It tastes like cream soda, but far fewer additives. For me, I put 3-4 ice cubes in a 16 oz glass. Fill about a fourth of the glass with cream, and the rest with sparkling water. Add flavor to liking, and adjust creaminess with amount of cream.
