Works well over a 100m run thru 2 panes of glass and a few tree branches !
I did like this product. I used it to connect a new car port with office above to the house internet approx. 100m away. There are a few reviews mentioning changing your PC static IP to be in the same range 192.168.188.xxx so you can configure the device via the web interface. I found this worked a treat. I configured both the master and slave to my local 192.168.1.xxx range with a subnet 255.255.255.0 and gave them static IP and entered my router IP into their config. I also configured separate SSID,s on the master and slave unit. I put the slave unit in the carport run a speed test and I actually get the same internet speed as I do in the house ! Pro’s: does what it says on the tin and at the moment very well (mine is pointed at the other unit through a glass window !) cons: instructions could have been a bit clearer, maybe it’s my lack of IT know how... if you struggle to find the IP address of one of the units there is an option to view / change the last 3 digits in the manual. This helped ! Finally, the mounts could be improved to help with the directional movement and having a passive POE means you shouldn’t connect to the POE socket of a switch or router. I did see a comment from someone about an in-line POE adapter which I will try. Finally, I could see the new networks on my I phone I pad etc but not my old laptop. This may be to do with the laptop using 2.4g not 5g but I can connect wired. Overall very good product.

A fantastic Product
This little piece of hardware solved my problem of extending broadband from my house to summerhouse which is in a distance of about 30 meters. Unfortunately it wasn't possible for me to dig a trench and wire it all through. This solved the problem. It worked like a charm in the very first stance. I noticed that when both Host (Master) and Client (Slave) were kept opposite to each other close by (i.e. a gap for let's say 2 inch) the broadband speed fell to around 25mbps. However, after putting up on the walls, I achieved the full speed of 65-72mbps. This means they are ideally meant for longer distances rather than close proximity! It was easy to connect internet through both. The instructions booklet wasn't great, but a video on Youtube helped fix them easily and they worked in the very first time - honestly I bought them with least expectation that they wouldn't connect OR even if they would, it would be extremely complicated and difficult. I didn't even need to change any IP addresses or even go in their admin. A perfect solution for me.

No 802.11q support
Works really well straight out of the box. No set required. However, doesn't seem to support 802.11q, seems to strip vlan information from each packet. This is a deal breaker for me. Very disappointing.

Does it's job well
As per other reviews, this isn't the easiest to setup however once it is setup, it works very well. Don't install it and then try and setup, setup up first with the master connected to your network and the slave connected to a PC/Laptop. I connected to each individually first with a laptop via ethernet (temporarily setting a static ip address on the laptop and disabling wifi) so that i could access the config page. The first step was to change the ip address to a static address in my network range but outside my router DHCP server range. Setup is then fairly straightforward if your used to setting up routers in a home network environment. Ignore the quoted speeds as the ethernet ports are only 100mbps. What I was impressed with was the signal strength and range. You can connect to the master directly as it appears as an access point. I connected using my phone from the bottom of my garden and got full strength at nearly 50m. This worked much better than using powerlines. I am a bit dubious of how weatherproof it is, only time will tell. If it lasts a full year and is still fully working, I will be impressed!

Slow and intermittent
Complete junk. I created a point to point line of sight connection of approx 50 metres. The connection was extremely slow and intermittent. If you need a stable quick connection, these aren’t for you.

Works with minimal interaction
This just seems to work. I have struggled with cables to connect the house to my garage, but rodents always have a taste for cables. I also tried a wireless solution a few years ago, but it was not reliable. So far, this just works, pretty much out of the box. Range I am using is around 15 metres. The trick I found was not to be too clever and try and customise it. Standard settings out of the box just work. Although I use a 172.16 IP setup, the internal 192.168 setup seems to work happily. Not sure of how secure it is, but let’s see. Recommended

Speed the same as the house, not for outside, most settings needed changed
Had these installed for a few months and Internet though them is as fast as being on the house WiFi direct. That should be the case upto 100Mbps based on the ports used. I have installed indoors at both ends as the signal is strong enough to penetrate the walls and a 20m distance. They are IP43 at best, I certainly would not be putting them outside. Both ends required a lot of configuration. They actually came with a WiFi range that you have to pay to use in the UK. It allows you to change it to a free range, Brazil on the device is the one I went for. Word of caution, don't just change the admin passwords, change the internal WiFi passwords too. Default ones are all very simple.

Had to cover about 25 metres, two wooden fences and one brick wall. Seeing that the description say’s about 1 to 2km of range in (sort off) plain sight, thought that the strength of 12 dbi antenna’s and 25 metres, two wooden fences and one brick wall, would not be a problem. Unfortunately it is a problem. No reception in whatever configuration i put them in. Tested them in house and reception is ok. ----------------- Edit 11-Jul-2024: Seller contacted me and offered a full refund. I had to think about about that offer, because when the wifi bridge arrived, and i tested it, i also had the opportunity to send it back if i didn't like it. When the wifi bridge arrived, and in my optimism, the description and the reviews about the WiFi bridge, i thought it would work just fine and therefore threw the packaging away before i tested the wifi bridge. That's my dumb mistake to make! Although i really appreciated the offer of a full refund, in honest i could only accept half a refund, which the seller indeed refunded. Big courtesy and A+ for customer support👍

Toll.
