JetDirect 620n Print Server (J7934A#UUS)

My current PC does not have a parallel port so I have been running my Laserjet 4000 with a USB-Parallel adapter. Printing speed was OK on text-based documents but PDFs and graphics-intensive documents took forever to get to the printer. The printer has been a reliable workhorse for over fifteen years and I really did not want to get rid of it but I needed more speed. I bought this JetDirect 620n to extend the life of the printer and avoid the expense of a new laser printer. I am very glad I did. Setup was a breeze; I installed the card, plugged in a LAN cable and went to the Add New Printer dialog. My PC found the printer, I clicked YES and that was it. Now large files and small start printing almost before I click the Start button. I am entirely pleased with this product.

Print Server worked as it should. Just wish the cards had a USB port as well in the event the ethernet port failed. That said, it worked as it should and I'd buy it again.

I have an older Hp Laserjet that I used to share on a desktop to family laptops. Ever sine migrating to Windows 10 a couple of years back, and the various OS on family devices, the printer has not been reliable to share, dropping connections, etc. I decided to just connect it to a port on my FIOS router - only to find out the HP 615 EIO card in it was evidently bad. I bought the 620 for about $20 and it is a piece of cake to see up. Install it, enable it in the printer EIO menu, and boom.

Product arrived as mentioned and was in great condition when it arrived. Installed in minutes and works great. I would recommend this item if your in the market.

We started having problems with our HP 1050c Plus, where plot files would not ever reach the plotter over the network, or the plotter would start receiving the plot and and then display 'system error'. The diagnosis on the machine was just a code and looking it up online, the message was 'bad hard drive or network card'. We don't have a hard drive, so it was the card. The symptoms got worse day by day, at first a reboot would cure it but later the plotter would crash as soon as it finished initializing after a reboot. We believed that we had to have a new card, so of course I went to Amazon, and there was a link to new and used cards. The new ones are about $400, and I wanted to make sure this was the problem before shelling out so much of the company's money so I looked at the used ones. 'Wow!!' - eAsset Solutions had a used one 'in good condition' for $49! So I ordered it from the on the spot. I am usually very cautious and skeptical of buying used equipment on-line - but the price was right. The card arrived in three days with FedEx Ground. It appeared to be in very good shape, very clean at least - since you can't really judge computer parts by the way they look. We popped it in, and it connected to the network automatically - so it was in fine working order. All we had to do was re-initialize the card through the printer menu to clear its network settings and it automatically obtained a new IP address from the server. Then we could use the connection through the server to set it up. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars on 'ease of use' is because being used, it didn't have a user's guide or interface/setup software. But this was an easy download from HP (after a fairly difficult search on their website). Overall this was a good experience, and I would recommend Amazon and eAsset Solutions to anyone.

Replaced a failing 610n. Easy to install but required changing the Jetdirect 620n IP address to the static IP my network expected using the embedded EIO 1 menu accessed through the printer control panel buttons. Changing the IP address may be intimidating to some but Google "EIO 1 menu" and you will find lots of helpful how-to information. BTW, My printer is a Laser Jet 4100.

The LaserJet 5200dtn comes standard with an embedded JetDirect card on the logic board. But mine started to refuse to connect in any way shape or form to my LAN here. I tried everything: myriad cold resets, new cables, different Ethernet switches. Nothing worked. Since there is an EIO slot on this printer, I purchased this server card. Plugged everything in and bingo, back in business! Plus, as a very minor improvement, print jobs go faster to the printer, basically instantaneously. Whereas the embedded server took 2-3 seconds. Not a big deal, but noticeable.

Couldn't get it to work

This HP JetDirect J7934A card was purchased January 2022, to solve my Windows printing issues for a HP LaserJet 2100 printer that was connected using USB 2/(IEEE-1284) cables. This old set-up stopped working Q4 of 2021.The J7934A card arrived on time and I followed the easy set-up instructions from the Supplier. The printer is now working with two Windows 10 (rj-45) and Windows 11 (WIFI) computers which are all on the same LAN without any issues. Installed the end of January 2022 and it came with a 90-day Warranty. Very happy with price and set-up.

la verdad es que gracias a la tarjeta hemos transformado nuestro viejo plotter 500 en un aparato perfectamente servible y en red. estoy muy satisfecho de la compra.

La scheda è stata vista dal plotter HP DJ 500 subito (con suo indirizzo IP rilevabile dai menu). Ho penato un po' con Win10, fermandomi al fatto che non stampava la solita pagina di prova dando errore 61.05. Poi tramite una app. Hp ho aggionato (direttamente su rete lan) il firmware del plotter e l'operazione è andata a buon fine al primo colpo. A questo punto la pagina di prova Windows non la stampa ugualmente...ma da Autocad e Acrobat funziona correttamente. In definitiva non so se l'operazione risolutiva è stata l'aggiornamento del plotter (perchè prima non avevo provato a stampare da cad), ma alla fine funziona a dovere (con i limiti propri del plotter già noti quando lo usavo collegato via USB). In definitiva consiglio, una volta installata la scheda e settato i driver per la stampante IP (da rilevare a menù del plotter), DI PROVARE STAMPARE DA CAD.

installazione semplice prodotto integro e ben confezionato funzionante mi ha permesso di non mandare in discarica il carrarmato plotter hp plus500 !!!! 12 anni di vita !!!
