Toss that 'formed 3/8" carriage bolt
This is a quality piece of cast aluminum with galvanized steel wings. The only thing I'm commenting on is the cheesy job they did of bending a galvanized 3/8" carriage bolt into a U-bolt. I purchase some SS 5/16" U-bolts, 1 3/4" C-C. They surround the gate that you're putting them on. I just throw the other ones in the garbage.

So much better than a standard gate latch.
Why are these latches so hard to find? Taking my bike in and out of the yard is WAY easier now. They latch very easy. Super easy install, two minutes tops. They close very easy and are very sturdy.

Very poor quality
I bought this for my fence at work and it has been a big let down.Do not buy this product if you are planning on it working like it should.It has been installed correctly and will not work!Either one side of the wing or even both stay flipped up so the gate is never shut!Poor quality.
