Better than others
I got this phone for my mother, She had the 8035 model before this. Straight out of the box could tell it was better thought out phone, it is heavier which mum noticed but is ok with.I set it up but there was the option for a new user to system to set up with a step by step guide. I found it very easy to set up and personalize phone to mums fav ringtone & wallpaper.I found the 8035 model slow and clunky, this one is leaps ahead! It feels and acts like a very decent smartphone, very quick and responsive. When you wake up screen the line which you push up to open phone bounces to guide the user what to do, Once open you have the doro buttons to make calls etc, a new edition is the "I" tile which takes you to a guide on how phone works, my mothers memory is gone so this is great as she can keep going back to instructions easily. The charging stand is better as phone stands upwards, also seems more solid than the previous one. Battery life is surprisingly good as well.Only been in use a few days so will update review after a couple of months use.

Great Smartpone
I am recommending this to all my friends. Not a cheap phone, but worth every penny to me. Very intuitive, responsive, great battery life, excellent features in terms of sound, font size, brightness,I use it on Bluetooth to stream music for a dance group and have confidence in it.I liked my old Doro and this is even better. No "an old persons phone" but a good phone for internet browsing, banking, music etc. Now my constant companion.

Ideal Mobile for us oldies.
First the bad news, The price is a touch on the expensive side, but saying that, it is loaded with spec's you don't find on most phones. That out the way, the phone feels secure in the handling field, it is a bit heavy and thick compared to some mobiles , but the thickness is part due to the protective case. I heard reports the speed is slow, i have no complaints there. The setting up is relatively simple and easy, but you do need a basic knowledge of mobile phones. The screen is bright with ability to adjust for poor vision to hard of hearing. A lot of though as gone in to the menu's. The phone is aimed at the elderly/disabled population to that end ii is good, I'm not sure the price will put off some. Not had the phone long so cann't comment on battery life . The emergency beacon is useful and gives confidence when out and about.

Severe battery failure
I bought one of these four years ago, from Amazon. The battery lost charge fairly quickly, so I didn't use it much.Yesterday the insides of the phone started swelling and burst open the case. I assume that it was the battery that was swelling. There is no user option to change the battery. Two years before I had bought a Motorola One smart-phone, also from Amazon. It developed the same fault.I have given up on smart-phones and have gone back to my previous old-*art phone. It has the advantage that I can work it with one hand, in case I fall and break my arm, as my poor wife did. So, I probably could call for help.My two smart-phones are now in a metal container, in case they burst into flames. I shall have to pay to get them taken away. I can't put them in the ordinary rubbish.I'm not at all pleased.

Good mobile for seniors!
Bought as a replacement for my old mobile phone. Larger than my old phone, but adapted to it fairly quickly. Easy to use, touch screen good, battery life good, and camera is very good. My use is fairly basic at present, as I get used to the phone - send/receive texts, make/receive calls. But so far, so good.

Fist Rate!
First class, easy to use. Bright clear graphics, camera very decent.Just a little weighty and it would have been nice to have screen protection included. It achieves all that it claims and I am very pleased with it.

Very easy to use
I bought this for my 70 year old husband as he struggles with another smart phone. I can honestly say he got on with the Doro straight away.He can even watch Netflix on it, easy to access emails, messages etcI would highly recommend for the older generation. On the plus side he can here the phone as clear as a bell ( he is deaf & wears an hearing aid).

An OK Android Smartphone, but still a challenge for seniors to operate
My wife has a sight impairment due to AMD. She has used Doro flip phones for years, but we thought that now was the time to upgrade. She uses an Ipad successfully but the move to the Doro 8080 was a step too far so it has been returned.First the good bits; the 8080 is a well built attractive looking smartphone which uses the Android OS. It also has a few tweaks to make it more user friendly and a "My Doro" app which will allow remote setup or assistance, Also, the app icons are arranged alphabetically for easy access, and some thought has been given to the needs of seniors or those with vision or hearing impariment. Then the not-so-good bits; it is expensive for what it is, and android phones with a similar spec are available for much less. The "accessibility" features seem to be the same as are available on other Android devices and allow the text size and screen display to be enlarged. the touch screen is very sensitive and it is easy to misstype. My wife found using it to be a struggle, and some of this may have been due to the less familiar Android OS. Overall, there were not enough advantages over a standard phone for her to keep it.
