Easy to use, compact, good for guests for a night or two
I love the material and size of this convertible bed/ chair. I bought it for my toddler's room so I could stay in the room with him if he were sick. For a night or two, the bed is just fine and looks great! I'd recommend it as a guest bed or something to use every once in a while like I do. I did have tobcommunicate with the manufacturer. They followed through in communication regarding my concerns and demonstrated a deep care for their product and customer satisfaction. For their care and the product being just what I needed, I will give 5 stars.

Great extra bed very convenient for small spaces
I have slept on this for a week stretch and it was very comfortable and stable for me. I added a thick blanket as a "topper" and used twin sheets from Ikea. It is on the firm side. I raised the head portion too watch tv and it was comfortable as well. I would say its similar to how a couch sits but more like a lounge chair.(think fold up outside sun lounger) I found it to be very sturdy unlike a outdoor fold up lounger. You have to make sure you have all the positions fully locked in. In the folded up ottoman mode It is stable and I add large pillows as a back rest against a wall and it sits fine for one oversize seat option heavy enough to not slide away from the wall on wood floors. I would add I am able to store my sheets and blanket in side the zipper compartments. I love it as an extra bed for a quest or myself. I would highly recommend it. You cant beat the price and convenience of this.

Super Cute & Firm cushion - but use Caution on pull-out legbars - they don't lock.
Just received our Vonanda Sofa Bed/Convertible Chair - so I'll come back in a few month w an update as well. I want to love it. It was nicely packaged. I unboxed it, and set it up in the room, and then started testing the different configurations. I had it set up as the twin bed, and leaned on the head side to reach for the sheath to the knife I used to cut the tape to the box... and the head-side's legs collapsed as there is nothing to lock them into place. So I landed on my shoulder and wrist, and almost on the knife. I double-checked and there are NO locks on the pull out legs on head or foot side. I would recommend getting a couple custom cut pieces of wood to wedge between the legbars on each side against the middle bottom frame to keep the bars from collapsing back inwards. I realize you get what you pay for - as this is not a high-end piece of furniture, and I didn't want to break the bank for our tiny spare room guest bed. This said, I think they should create and include 2 brace bars to secure this crazy defective design. As for the color, cloth, ease of use, and mattress quality. It's definitely very firm, but I find that comfortable. As an Ottoman, it's great, as a lounge chair, meh, and as a twin bed with great length and width, it's fantastic. I'm a wide 5'5" and there's more than enough length and width for me to sleep comfortably. Quality of the stitching and fabric is finished well-enough, and it doesn't look bad at all. I rather like it, except for having almost stabbed myself falling from the random collapsing legs. Honestly, if they had locks, I'd have given it a 5/5. Update Jan 2025: Coming back to say, aside from the lock snafu which is still a horrible design flaw, it is still in our tiny guest bedroom, has gotten a ton of use from an elementary kid who loves to build forts on and around it ALL the time. The stitching, fabric, feel, and firmness of this little ottoman is intact and still looks new. I've upgraded my 3 stars to a 4. Stand by the fact that if it had the bar locks, it'd be a solid-solid five.

Worth the investment!
I am blown away by this guy. I was in the market for a comfortable lounge chair that converted into a bed, but I was struggling to find one that would work in an awkward spot in our office. I was also in a time crunch to get it fairly soon. I stumbled across this guy, held my breath, and clicked the order button. I was a little nervous about the price as we couldn't really afford for this to not work out. Let me tell you: I have never been more excited about a chair in my entire life! It came in a huge, slightly beat up box that was a struggle to get up the stairs. Once we opened it, there's virtually no assembly required. It took a bit of a learning curve to figure out how the angled seat back works (tip: it goes click, click, click the higher it gets. to lower it down, you have to bring it all the way to a 90 degree angle and then it'll release to flat), but once we figured that out, we were good to go. The bed part takes less than 2 minutes to set up: we just slide the chair (which is really not that heavy at all), open it, and unfold the head and feet portions and boom, bed. I saw some other reviews mentioning that the seams in the fabric were uncomfortable to sleep on, so out of precaution, we bought a twin flat sheet and comforter set so our guests would feel comfortable, though I don't think it was necessary as I've dozed off on it multiple times and had no issues. Notable Details - can be used as a chair or ottoman - comes with a fairly comfortable pillow - fit my lanky 6'2" brother-in-law comfortably - adjustable angles - easily moved/not too heavy If you're in the market, just buy it!! You won't regret it!

Great little hida-bed-chair-ottman
Purchased 2 of these for my kids to have in their rooms for guests. They are a close enough color match to my couch that they can be pulled out to the living room and used there as well. They open up and fit almost perfectly into the center of my sectional to make a large bed like couch. Great for having slumber parties with all the girlies crashing in the living room . My kids are boy 15 and girl 13. They both have them set up at the foots of their beds as a bench which next to the bed is low enough for the bed to work as a back so it's almost like a mini chair, which they both use to game or watch tv. This also allows for their guests to have a place to sit that also folds out into a semi decent bed. It is just a bit shy of a twin so we have twin sheets to put over it to protect while sleeping. Guests who have slept on it said that it is not bad. My husband who is a large man, 6'3' and 350 lbs took a tester nap on it and was also pleased with how well it supported him. It comes with 2 long pillows that are currently on my couch. Over all totally pleased with my purchase and would buy it again.

You get what you pay for.
The chair is very easy to assemble, but you get what you pay for. I don't like the fabric; it's too rough for my skin. The quality is okay, but don't expect it to last. I'm 130 lbs, so it's OK but not comfortable. If you buy it for the dorm, it's perfect, but invest in something of better quality for long-term use.

Perfect for my small space!
Came on time. I assembled myself in 30 minutes. Very heavy/sturdy. Versatile use. Color/material was as expected. Seems well made. 67 year old friend slept on it two nights with foam pad I store under neath. Neat “shelf” on back is handy to store a throw. Nice for a small space. It fit my Florida lanai perfectly. I keep it set out as a chaise/sofa but it folds up into and ottoman very quickly and simply. It is very firm. If you’re looking for something to “sink” into this is not for you. I’m ok with firm. I use it to lounge and watch TV.

BROKE on first use as a bed!!!
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Most of the reviews here are by people who have had this for not very long. We've had it for about five months now and this is what we think. We got these ottomans in January as a possible guest sleeping solution and also a place for one of our family to rest (in a different space from their bedroom, so they had more than one location to spend time in) during recovery from surgery. We bought two. It is not a hideous piece, though the fabric flaps covering the sides aren't the most attractive thing, even with the magnets to sort of hold them in place. It's very firm, not super cushiony, which is ok. It is ok to sit on just as an ottoman (i.e. when it's fully folded up), but it's really not very comfortable or functional with the back opened up to form a chaise or lounger (since the top doesn't come up very high at its highest position, and if you put it in a leaned-back or lounge position there's no head support). Also, having the back unfolded at all takes up a ton of space. So we really can't recommend it as a lounger, but that's not really the problem, since all we wanted was somewhere to sit (in its folded/ottoman position) and somewhere to lay down (in its fully-opened, flat position). The real problem is the cushioning material used (and possibly how it is placed/attached). Unfortunately the cushioning is just not very well done. It shifts, flattens, doesn't recover, and leaves uncomfortable areas even with limited use. On one of the two ottomans we bought, within the first month we noticed the cushioning started to show obvious misshaping in the spot on the edge where it's most sat-on -- it wasn't recovering after use (and it isn't used very much). On the other ottoman, which was used for a week or so in its fully-opened position as a twin daybed, we had a similar problem -- the cushioning started to shift and/or flatten in places where there was more pressure (e.g., when lying on the stomach, in area where the knees rest). This left an area of the ottoman where you easily could feel a hard bar beneath. We fairly quickly added a twin memory foam topper as a barrier (and a stretchy twin fitted sheet to hold the topper in place) but even with this, the cushioning continued to get worse in the same areas, anywhere the body applies more pressure when laying down. We're going to try a thicker memory foam topper, but that's another expense (and it has to be stored somewhere when the ottoman is folded up -- memory foam toppers are bulky and are meant to stay on the bed once they open up -- they take up a ton of space to store). We want to offer our guests a comfortable place to sleep, not one where there are already misshapen areas in the cushion with hard bars exposed if you press down there. This really should not be happening. With any piece of cushioned furniture, the cushioning material used should recover after being compressed by a body sitting or lying down, the ottoman should keep its shape with repeated use, and the cushioning should be secured in a way so that it does not shift and expose hard bars underneath. You should be able to use it for at least a couple of years before you see the kinds of issues we're seeing. A more minor issue is the square glued-on felt pads -- on both of these ottomans, several of these came off immediately on the first day - literally the first time we unfolded them. UPDATE: One of the units - the one that we had never used as a bed before - BROKE at a welded point the VERY FIRST time a guest laid down on it. Now we have no where for them to sleep. We have reached out to the manufacturer and we hope they do the right thing, but we STRONGLY recommend you look elsewhere!
