At first these straws felt slightly awkward because until then I'd only ever used plastic straws, and, as I discovered, plastic straws seem to get picked up slightly by the lips without a thought while in use, allowing the liquid pass through the straw.The glass straws on the other hand don't seem to really leave the bottom of the glass much so oddly my mouth had to adjust. But once you're there, you can draw up far more liquid than you were drawing before, which is something I like, plus if you drink beverages with pulp or seeds or creamy lumps or whatever, these straws can handle it.And they're great for stirring.CLEANING them is easy, especially with one of the two included brushes. I've read here that some people think the brushes should be as long as the straws, but that might be awkward as you line up the long straw and long brush. The shorter brush just slips right in. And when it does, a few good pumps and BOOM! Smiles all around.

I love, love, love these straws! They are extremely sturdy (I wash them upright in my dishwasher) both in their care and use. I never feel like they are fragile and will break. They are perfect for thick smoothies or even just a watery drink, like tea. I also bought metal straws at the same time to switch from plastic but I never use them as these are just what I wanted.

Well, they do. All straws suck. Ha ha. :) But Seriously, I haven't unwrapped them all because their gorgeously wrapped in a light waxy paper too lovley to be disturbed. Which allows them to touch without the hard clink' of glass. For now, I've unwrapped my favorite color only ' Red. and it's perfection. Thick but comfortable to hold. The different colors on the end of each straw allow family members to designate a favorite and remain hygiene conscious. Comes with two cleaning wands. First -- I DID NOT receive a discount for my review. I paid full price for the straws. I actually have a policy of avoiding purchasing products which have a lot of discounted reviews, because I think it's shady and I don't like to support companies that do it. However, these straws were EXACTLY what I had been looking for, so I ordered them anyway.I've been very pleased so far. These are the perfect height for my 16 oz Duralex Picardie glasses, and the straw diameter is perfect for the thick smoothies I drink out of them. The color coding is a great addition, and I appreciate that the straws came with two pipe cleaners. I haven't had to use them yet, though, because as long as I rinse out the straws immediately after use, I haven't had anything stay "clumped" inside and they stay sparkling clean with just an easy rinse.I highly recommend these straws. For beverages with a thinner viscosity, like water, the diameter is probably overkill... but you're looking at wide straws for a reason, so I bet these will suit whatever needs you have.UPDATE 11/20/2019: A few years later, and I’m still using these a couple times a week. They still look like they did the day I got them. Enjoy!

Excellent Quality! I'm still using my 1st of 4 straws, months later. I used to do Warm Glass Art, and my experience told me that a nice, heavy Boroscillicate would last, but I really expected that in time I'd get a chip, I'm not super careful with it. Nope, perfectly perfect, even after 100+ uses. The brush makes cleaning it super quick and thorough, I make Fruit Smoothies and 'Green' Juices every day, and I'll admit to not washing it for a few hours, but a little speck of soap on the brush, and in less than 15 seconds, it's ready to use again.

My wife makes smoothies and was using some stainless steel straws, but they were a little too narrow. These glass straws are perfect. She loves them. I can’t comment on durability just yet, but they arrived nicely packaged and no damage. Each straw has a different colored tip which is a nice touch.

These straws work well for hefty smoothies - nothing gets stuck on the way up. The color coding is a great idea (and yes, that bit of color is glass, not plastic - it's seamless). They can be stored in the box they came in, so they're not going to rattle around and get broken in your kitchen drawer. Not uncomfortably wide, either. Best of all, they come with two cleaners - you don't have to order those separately.

Everything about this product is perfect! First of all, the straws are beautiful to look at; clear, with just a nip of color at the tip. They are wide enough for smoothies and shakes and come with two brushes for cleaning. The straws are beautifully and safely packaged, wrapped in tissue and placed on a cotton cushion, in a sweet little box. What is even better is that they protect our environment, are designed and packaged in the U.S.A. and are family owned and operated. I am in love! Perfect little gift too...
