I have a ResMed CPAP that has outlasted 3 power supplies. (The original one provided with the ResMed S9 was terrible - the cord's strain relief split open within a year.)I've had a couple aftermarket power supplies, and I travel with a backup power supply. This recently-purchased power supply from KFD stopped working after 7 weeks. I didn't travel with it, rather it stays at home in the night stand. Not sure of the failure mode, but the ResMed S9 pops up a message saying that the power supply is bad and then the CPAP shuts off. The power supply I travel with works fine in the same ResMed S9 CPAP machine. It's a shame that this KFD unit failed just 3 weeks after the 30 day warranty.

This KFD Replacement charger for the ResMed S9 works great! There are some differences between the original ResMed Charger and this one that make the KFD better than the original in some ways. Most of us S9 users have had to replace our power supply for the same reason – the protective coating at the end of the cord going into the power brick breaks and the wires become bare (See photo). The KFD appears to have a better design that makes that less likely, but I have no way of knowing whether this will do the same or not until after time passes.1. The KFD is significantly smaller and lighter than the original charger. KFD=260g (9.2 oz) vs ResMed= 593g (21 oz) See the photo for the significant size difference.2. Both cords that run from the machine to the brick and from the brick to the wall, as well as the brick itself are all shorter than on the ResMed power supply. The KFD is about 8 feet in total, and the ResMed is about 12 feet. For me, this is good rather than bad as the cord on the S9 has always been too long for my setup. The details are as follows:a. Cord from machine to brick: KFD= 44” ResMed= 70.5”b. Brick: KFD= 5” ResMed=6.5”c. Cord from Brick to Plug Pins: KFD= 46” ResMed = 70” d. KFD Total= 95” / 7.9 feet ResMed Total: 147” / 12.25 feet3. The KFD cord is flat. The original has a round cord.4. The connector that goes into the machine is shaped differently. The original has an elbow-like shape to it, whereas the KFD is straight. I much prefer the straight as it does not force the cord to bend. (Why the original was designed to have the cord go straight down with so little room between the plug and the table was a mystery to me.) This connector has a little bit of play when plugged into the machine, but it does not pull out easily, it just moves a little bit. I jiggled the heck out of it and the power was never interrupted.5. To address another reviewer’s issue, Amazon’s 30-day free-return policy is not a warranty. The Manufacturer’s warranty on this product is 36 months. However, there are no details on what that warranty includes.The charger worked fine with my trusty old S9.
