A Little Book of Sloth

Full of information and many great photos. The students in my school love this book!

Although this is primarily a book for children, any sloth lover will want it in his/her library. It's a beautiful hard-cover with a lot of adorable color photos of both three- and two-toed sloths. And although its main purpose is to give the reader lots of cuteness to enjoy, it also provides some important information on sloth behavior and biology, and the work the Costa Rica sanctuary does to care for these wonderful creatures. It also makes very clear that sloths belong in the wild, not in someone's home as a pet -- a point that can never be stated often or strongly enough. At the end you'll find the websites for the sanctuary and for the "Sloth Appreciation Society," where one can view videos of the "stars" of this book. So if there's a sloth lover in your family -- child OR adult -- they'll love you for buying this book for them. Or buy it for yourself; you won't be disappointed.

This book is loaded with great photos and information just right for younger folks. We know kids love bathroom humor and this book has a few pages devoted to sloth toilet habits. The photos of baby sloths are the biggest draw as very few people can resist a baby animal. I bought this for one of my grandchildren who is an animal lover. I may have to get another copy for my library! It is just too cute to not have a copy here at home. By the way, I could be a bit partial as this book uses photos of the babies at the sloth sanctuary on the east side of Costa Rica. My visit there was the highlight of the trip. The people who work there are devoted to the sloths.

You cannot say, "no" to that sloth's cute face... This book is aimed at children, but as a full grown adult and sloth-aholic, I find the pictures and the story of the Sloth Sanctuary in Costa Rica charming and irresistibly cute! The pictures are so cute and high quality. It's a joy just looking at the book jacket and inside it's even better! This is a quality book about sloths. Do not miss it! To keep the sloth party going, I would also recommend Hanging With The Sloth as a cute informational DVD about sloths.

Considering all the love that sloths have been getting lately, it's no surprise that this book is a hit. It's full of cute pictures that make you go "aweeee" and I keep it on my desk for whenever I need an adorable pick-me-up. I found that it actually had a surprising bit of information in it too, and I could see this being a great gift for kids (though I'm a 20 year old college student...). I had a fun time going through it and all my friends thought it was cute too.

I was hoping this wasn't a book with one small pic here and there. I was pleasantly surprised to see huge, big, medium & small pics throughout the entire book with enough reading and info in it to keep it from just being pictures! I am a fan of their facebook page and was happy to support the Sloth's by buying this book =) WIN, WIN! If you love sloth's or know someone who does this is definitely a great book to buy!!

I really enjoy this book from start to finish you can tell the author enjoying creating and writing this book it's very insightful read about Lucy introduces the readers to quite of few Sloths I learn many facts I didn't know about sloths I'd definitely recommend to sloth lovers this book is very delightful read.

This book is excellent for any sloth lover. The pictures are great. The descriptions are great. If you are looking for detailed information about slots, this is not the book. This book is great sloth eye candy. If I could change one thing about this book, I would say I wish it had more pages. So if you or somebody you know is a sloth addict, I would recommend picking this up.

I got this little book for my friend who loves sloths. Unfortunately there are very few cute sloth related items out there. I think this is meant to be a children's book, but my 22 year old friend loved it more than a child probably would ;) The pictures are adorable and the information is great too! If you or someone you know loves sloth, get this book!

Ich habe das Buch für meine Tochter gekauft, die Faultiere mag. Es geht vor Allem um die süßen Photos und es ist kein Sachbuch über Faultiere. Die Photos sind sehr schön und die kurzen Texte erzählen etwas über die Eigenschaften der Tiere und über die Arbeit und über diesen Ort in Costa Rica, wo verletzte und verwaiste Faultiere gepflegt werden. Jedanfalls etwas Schönes für Faultierliebhaber.

The book was full of lovely photos with anecdotal writing about each sloth. Made a very lovely present for a sloth fan!

I liked it all. The photos were amazing and the text informative. Greatly improved my knowledge of sloth.
