My Favorite of all the Eastern Europe Guides
This is an incredibly helpful book. I would say that, if you are planning on traveling to the Czech Republic, you shouldn't leave home without it. It divides the city of Prague into districts; so that you can plot your hotel area and easily see how to get around. The pull-out map is great. The information on all the sights in the city is well explained. It shows both day trips from Prague, complete with mileage and number of hours traveling, and places to explore and cities to visit throughout the entire Republic, complete with train information. A must for Eastern European travel!

Prague with Lonely Planet
I haven't gotten there yet but it looks like it will be very helpful in Prague and especially in the surroundings which I plan to explore. Fortunately it seems that there are many tourist services in the city so, after reading the book, I plan to take advantage of all the information I am hoping will be there. I found out from another source that there is a hop-on hop-off bus that has two different day tours of the city. The only trouble with Prague in June is that it sounds like one tourist looking at another. But the book will be helpful as this series always has been all over the world, though not totally accurate or up to date.

Best trip of our lives thanks to this book!
Every single recommendation was spot on! The maps are wonderful and comprehensive, though I might have organized them a bit differently to prevent some much flipping back and forth. The food recommendations were things we probably wouldn't have tried otherwise, but were all over-the-top AMAZING!

No Czech Republic map!!
Quite a bizarre travel book. Purporting to cover both Prague AND the (rest of the) Czech Republic this book has NO map of the Czech Republic!!

Weak
We have used Lonely Planet Guides for years and enjoyed them. This is the weakest of the ones we have used.Confusing and unclear maps. Not very well illustrated. Poorly laid out.A new edition is sorely overdue in my opinion.

Traveling to Prague & Czech with Lonely Planet & Amazon
Lonely Planet books are all an excellent choice for travel anywhere. You can't go wrong with this series. I have been using this a top choice for many years. Amazon always has good discount prices on books and more.

Good for researches
I don't actually travel with any of the Lonely Planet books, they are just simply too big! However, before my trip, when I am doing my planning, this book provides tons of information on just about everything! One thing I did not like about this book is that it is the only Czech Republic that Lonely Planet offers and it focuses mainly on Prague and not so much on the other towns. However, it does provide quick guide to most of the larger towns that you would probably want to visit in Czech Republic.

Five Stars
Super Helpful. I wish I had one just for Prague though, maybe a smaller more packable version.

Fine value: second most recent edition still useful for planning
Slightly dated prices and a small amount of information may out-of-date, I'm guessing. However, the overall information still very useful for trip planning. Familiar and effective Lonely Planet format . . .Great value.

Great guidebook
This book is great for an overview of Prague. We especially love the neighborhood walks. However ours lasted way longer than the time the book said.

Town+Country guide no good
Well I quite disappointed. I have almost all country guides from Lonely Planet and I like them. For some reason in the new edition of Czech republic L.P. decided to merge the Prague guide with the country guide and the Prague part is more than half of the guide itself. Too much for the town, too few for the country. For the rest still good level of guide as usual.
