Complete Field Guide to the Wildlife of the North Atlantic
This little field guide may not look like much, but it has a lot to offer. Lavishly illustrated and full of information, this field guide is a must have for any beachgoers, sea watchers, wildlife enthusiasts, or even just casual visitors and Atlantic Coast residents. This field guide covers all of the sea birds, fishes, marine mammals, and various other collections of wildlife that are found along the northern atlantic coast, from Norfolk, VA, all the way up to Maine and beyond. One of the best things about this field guide is the wonderful color plates that beautifully illustrates all of this wildlife and makes identification of species much easier. When I found this guide, I could not believe it and absolutely fell in love with it.For all nature enthusiasts along the coast, this field guide is for you. It will make an excellent addition to your library as it did for me and will surely not disappoint.

No crabs and lobsters!
I wish the book had crustaceans, like crabs and lobsters, which it should. And all it haves is shrimp and that it for crustaceans! But otherwise, it’s a great book!

Cool book my 3 year old son loves it.
My little boy is very interested in fish and wildlife. I bought this book and wasn't sure if he would be into it but he enjoys all the pictures. A very nice book.

Excellent portable field guide
This is a nice little book that covers wildlife of the North Atlantic and easily fits in one's backpack. The illustrations are excellent and the descriptions brief, but comprehensive.

Disapointed
Although the graphics were in detail, as an avid saltwater flyfisherman I was disapointed in the discriptions given for the species...When Mackrel was discribed there was no mentions of Tinker Mackrel a major food souce for Striped Bass who feed on this fish.( What I found interesting was the color plate for "Alantic Mackrel" looked a lot alike Tinker Mackrel.) When Weak fish were discribed a total length of 20 inch was given. I personally caught and released a Weak Fish well over 28 inches weighing in at 8 pounds.I did not bother to read the rest of the book. I was hoping I could learn something but, I have no idea what the total facts are in species I know not much about. I just don't think there was enough research given when putting this book togather.

excellent FIELD guide
From Newfoundland to the Azores, I found myself allways pleased, for having such a remarkable friend...to share knowledge and passion about the blue and the magical sea creatures. It helped me a lot.

A great little book
A great little book with clear illustrations. I particularly liked the location maps which show the range along the coast, and the species checklist. Small enough to take away, with space for notes too.

Generally a good field guide
Generally a good field guide, fairly comprehensive. Could have more species described (example crabs). Some birds (ex puffin, loon, black guillemot) only shown in non-breeding plumage, which was frustrating when birdwatching during the breeding season.

a North Western Atlantic book
The title gives no clue that the book is written only for the American market and does not include the north eastern atlantic in its maps or discussion. So the book is of little use to those of us on the wrong side of the pond.
