Ginseng

Pros: goes over almost all the ginseng growing information you would want to know. In good detail and well explained. You are not left wondering about anything... you know like when you buy other books and can't figure out what they are talking about or they leave out entire explanations NOT on this book... I literally sat down started reading, went to bed, woke up started reading again and finished by end of morning. Didn't set it down other than to sleep... very easy read and worth it. Cons: Could use more illustrations or even schematics would be helpful with their descriptions though not necessary and the price is pretty high for the hardback so I got the cloud version and read it on my computer.

Bought as a gift and it was very appreciated.

This book provides good information on finding and cultivating ginseng. It covers the basics on ginseng climate and growing techniques that includes growth cycles as well as climate conditions across different geographical areas. It also contains many high quality photographs & useful illustrations, and includes a summary table showing state regulations regarding minimum age and number of prongs.

This is a really informative book. I learned of ginseng hunting when I was younger but never gave it much thought until I recently saw a TV show called Appalachian Outlaws which showed various people and their adventures hunting 'Sang for big bucks. With the information in this book, I may try it myself one day. This author seems to know a lot about the subject and presents the information in a clear and easy to understand way.

I just got into planting ginseng and this book really has helped give me a good idea on options for raising ginseng. It was very easy reading as I finished it in just a couple days.

The Ginseng bible, very little not covered. I've been hunting, growing etc. for 45 years. I learned a lot, although hillbillies have some passed down secrets.

My dad always took me seng'n when I was a kid. the memories of walking through the bush and trying to find the first one is one of my fondest memories. it had been so long since I had been and I wanted to get re-acquainted with how to find it. this book is awesome. even if you have never been ginseng hunting/digging you will learn a lot from this book. Even my dad was talking about how he learned a lot from it and he has been digging ginseng for over 40 years.

The books contains good information. However, the information is very repetitive and unorganized, which make it a bit difficult to sift through. Quite heavy on pesticide & fungicide use, some of which are banned in other countries because of toxicity concerns with humans.
