The Couple Next Door: Thriller (German Edition) Kindle Edition

Imagine my surprise when I ordered 4 copies of this for my book club and they arrived...in German! The title in the cover picture is in English. I realize that if I had scrolled through the product description I would have found”German” but I don’t usually read a lot of product description when ordering a best selling paperback. Next time!!!

Very suspenseful, well written. Proves you cannot trust everyone . I enjoyed it.

I’m so confused! I read the free trial ...really liked it. Downloaded and bought the rest and it’s in GERMAN! Why can’t I find the English version?

After reading the reviews I was looking forward to this audiobook. It has arrived.....but unfortunately, before removing the cellophane, I can see it is a German version! Very disappointed!

The book was in German, not English!!!

an sich ist die Grundidee gar nicht mal schlecht. Ein Baby wird entführt, während seine Eltern nebenan bei den Nachbarn feiern. Anschließend großes Rätselraten und die Frage, ob die Elten verstrickt sind oder nicht (erinnert ein bisschen an den Fall Maddie)ABER: die Art, wie die Geschichte geschrieben ist, ist unfassbar schlecht. Kurze Sätze im Stil: Subjekt Prädikat Objekt - keinerlei Variationen, keine Verschachtelungen, keine Beschreibungen, so dass sowohl die Personen als auch die Handlungsorte farblos bleiben. Das ganze spielt in New York, genauso gut könnte es aber auch in Wanne-Eickel spielen oder in Hintertupfingen.Mich hat das Buch schon nach einem Drittel gelangweiligt und ich las es nur zu Ende, weil ich wissen wollte, wer in welcher Weise mit dem Verschinden des Babies zu tun hat (auch die Auflösung lockte mich nicht hinter dem Ofen hervor).Fazit: das spannendste an dem Buch ist der Klappentext auf der Rückseite.
